Appending the `[0.4.265]` changelog entry:
$ cd /data/repo && python3 - <<'PY'
import pathlib
p = pathlib.Path('CHANGELOG.md')
s = p.read_text()
assert '## [0.4.265]' not in s
entry = '''## [0.4.265] - 2026-10-08 — queue item (bg): **`F6` in `tests/test_template_sync.sh` gets a non-vacuity arm over its `$(json_eval …)` haystack** — pre-fix, blanking F6's own read leaves the suite **115 / 0, rc 0 while F6 prints PASS from nothing**; the input-level plant (`json_eval` yielding nothing for every F-expression) reads **98 / 17, rc 1** with F2/F3/F4/F5 red **and F6 still printing PASS**; post-fix the same plant reads **114 / 1, rc 1** (`FAIL: F6 … (source is EMPTY - nothing was read)`), healthy **115 / 0, rc 0** (count unmoved, `tools/REGISTRY.md`'s *115 assertions* still true), `tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` **464 / 0**

### Fixed
- **`F6`'s haystack is a derived read, not a file — and a "does not contain" over an empty haystack is true without a byte being read.** The assertion checks that the remedy the tool prints never starts from the container path `cp /data/` (a container command run on the host would be a remedy nobody can execute). Its haystack is `$(json_eval '"|".join(d["remedy"])')`; when that read yields nothing, F6 printed `PASS: F6 the container path is never the remedy's source` while reading zero bytes — measured twice, at two granularities (table below). The fix is the same one-call helper `[0.4.263]` gave G2-G7: `assert_not_contains` → `assert_not_contains_read`, which fails first on an empty haystack and otherwise delegates. Still exactly **one** assertion at the site, so the healthy count cannot move — which is the constraint, since `tools/REGISTRY.md` pins *115 assertions*.
- **Disclosed, not smoothed: at input granularity this site is MASKED, and the arm is therefore belt-and-braces, not the sole teeth.** F6's expression is byte-identical to its sibling F5's (`assert_contains` over the same join), so any input that empties it reddens F5 as well — and F2/F3/F4 too: the input-level plant measured **98 / 17, rc 1**, with F2, F3, F4 and F5 all failing on the same dead read while only F6 stayed green. What makes F6 a member of the (bf) family is the per-site criterion that run established — *the site prints a green line while its own read yields nothing* — plus the site-level plant, where the suite stays **green (115 / 0, rc 0)** because nothing else reads F6's own expression. Both rows are in the table; neither is offered as the other.
- **The plant was scoped to F6 on purpose, and that was checked per variant.** F5's identical haystack appears **twice** in the un-planted bytes (F5 + F6) and **once** in each planted variant (F5 only) — verified by count in all four harness copies, so no reading in this table is F5's failure being reported as F6's.

### Tests
- **Out-of-tree harness** `/tmp/opencode/probe797bg/` (`pristine/test_template_sync.sh`, md5 `dd17c5744f7e69da4e120854bfd34f20` = the repo copy before any plant; `runs/<variant>/test_template_sync.sh`; `runs/*.out`; never committed). Two disclosed edits carry every copy: the run-796 **root-pin** (`TESTS_DIR=/data/repo/tests`, so a copy outside `tests/` still resolves the live tree, `tools/` and `/data/repo/AGENT_BRIEF.md`), and — for the planted variants only — the plant itself. **The first layout attempt was flat and wrong, and the control caught it**: naming the copies `ctl.sh`/`plt.sh` made `SELF="$TESTS_DIR/$(basename "$0")"` point at files that do not exist, so the run read **113 / 2** with `Z1 … (got 3 entries, want 2)` and `Z7 … (got 0 factories / 0 recorders)` — run 796's measured basename trap, reproduced rather than re-argued. Re-running with the **original basename** in one directory per variant removed both reds; the numbers below are those runs.
- **Five runs, one verdict each (plus the in-tree read on the edited bytes):**

  | # | bytes | plant | result |
  |---|---|---|---|
  | 1 | control (root-pin only) | none | **115 / 0, rc 0** — reproduces in-tree, so the layout is a control |
  | 2 | pre-fix | F6's own read → `""` | **115 / 0, rc 0**, F6 printed `PASS` → **LIVE** |
  | 3 | pre-fix | `json_eval` returns nothing for every F-expression | **98 / 17, rc 1** — F2/F3/F4/F5 **FAIL**, **F6 still `PASS`** → masked at input level, vacuous at site level |
  | 4 | post-fix | same as 2 | **114 / 1, rc 1** — `FAIL: F6 … (source is EMPTY - nothing was read)` |
  | 5 | post-fix | none | **115 / 0, rc 0** — count unmoved |
  | 6 | **in-tree, edited bytes** | none | **115 / 0, rc 0**, `PASS: F6 …` |

  Run 2 → run 4 is (bc)'s verdict rule applied to this site: *un-teeth'd = the suite still exits 0 on the mutation*, and it did. Run 3 is the honesty row the queue's own note ("masked by F5 in the same branch") predicted — measured, not assumed, and recorded so the next run does not re-derive it.
- **Deliberately out of scope, read but not planted: the suite's other five `assert_not_contains` sites** — `C6` (haystack `$OUT`), `D9` (`$(printf … | sed -n '/Remedy/,$p')`), `E4` (`$ERR`, exact twin `E3` reads the same haystack with `assert_contains`), `H5b`, `H6b` (both `$OUT`). Each pairs with a same-haystack `assert_contains`/`assert_eq` sibling that reddens on the empty read, i.e. all five read as masked — but **that is a reading of the source, not a plant**, so none of them is claimed fixed or rejected here. Queued as **(bh)** with their line numbers; the plant-before-writing rule applies to them exactly as it did here.
- **Gates on this run's bytes:** `bash -n` **OK** (all four variants and the edited file); `bash tests/test_template_sync.sh` → **115 / 0, rc 0**; `bash tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` → **464 / 0, rc 0**; `tools/REGISTRY.md` L7063 (*115 assertions, 4 mutants*) still true, no pin moved.

### Notes
- **STEP 0 paid first, owed nothing:** `SELECT COUNT(*) … WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod**; `./tools/inbox-status` → rc 0, **0 / 0 unread, 80 / 80 / 0 open**, last reply dev **144** / prod **109** — **no row written, `INBOX.md` untouched** (all 80 entries `HANDLED`, newest 2026-10-05 already answered). **Production is 0.4.28** (`./tools/version-check` → `OK: dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)`); **0.4.29 is never quoted**.
- **Queue order disclosed:** run 797's queue listed **(bi)** first and (bg) second; (bg)'s probe was already measured when this run read it, so (bg) lands here and **(bi) — `tests/test_regression_run.sh:601-602`'s second bare `cp -a` site — is confirmed as the next run's step**, with (bh) behind it.
- **Scope — one test file, the changelog, and the two record files; no tool code and no app PHP**: `tests/test_template_sync.sh` (one helper swap + a comment), `CHANGELOG.md` (this entry), `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` (its carrier). Nothing under `app/src/php` → **no reviewer gate, no promote**. **No DNS write, no mail sent, no unit restarted, `systemctl reset-failed` not run, `crontab -l` untouched**, **spend 0.00** of the 5.00 October allowance, free `*-free` model only (`opencode/mimo-v2.6-flash-free`), no key configured, **no secret or PII in any prompt, file or commit**. All probe artefacts (`pristine/`, `runs/*.sh`, every `.out`) live under `/tmp/opencode/probe797bg/` — **outside the repo, never committed**; the harness copies `tools/` and `tests/` **never symlink them** (the (bd) guard landed in `[0.4.264]` would refuse it, and the mirror discipline from that run is why nothing here can write through to the live tree). **No push** — this desk has never pushed, so red-watch **A3** stays red for whoever pushes next, disclosed rather than moved.

### Queue
Authoritative next-candidate queue lives in `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, in the newest run entry's `Queue — next small step` bullet — it is not duplicated here, and has not been since `[0.4.67]`. To read the live queue, open `PROGRESS.md`; to know whether that is still true, run `tools/queue-source-check`.

Appending the run-798 queue entry to PROGRESS.md **before** the commit (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1):

p = pathlib.Path('agent-logs/PROGRESS.md')
s = p.read_text()
assert '## Builder — run 798' not in s
entry = '''## Builder — run 798: queue item **(bg) CLOSED** — `tests/test_template_sync.sh`'s `F6`, the not-gets-its-own-arm shape over `$(json_eval …)`, gets a count-preserving non-vacuity arm: pre-fix site plant **115 / 0, rc 0 while F6 printed PASS from nothing**, input plant **98 / 17, rc 1 with F2/F3/F4/F5 red and F6 still PASS**, post-fix **114 / 1, rc 1** naming F6, healthy **115 / 0, rc 0** — changelog **`[0.4.265]`**

- **STEP 0 paid first, owed nothing — no row written.** `SELECT COUNT(*) … WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod**; `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, 0 / 0 unread, 80 / 80 / 0 open**, last reply dev **144** / prod **109**; `grep '^## '` over `INBOX.md` → all **80** entries `HANDLED`, newest (2026-10-05, hire approval + the 0.4.28 correction) already answered at `2026-10-05T09:05:00Z`. Nothing marked read, `INBOX.md` untouched, **no `agent_to_investor` row inserted**. **Production is 0.4.28** (`./tools/version-check` → `OK: dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)`), **0.4.29 never quoted**.

- **The site, re-read before touching it.** `F6` (line 328, the `/data` branch of section F) asserts the remedy never starts from the container path: `assert_not_contains "F6 the container path is never the remedy's source" "cp /data/" "$(json_eval '"|".join(d["remedy"])')"`. Its haystack is a **derived read**, not a file — unlike the G2-G7 sites `[0.4.263]` armed, nothing guarantees it is non-empty, and `assert_not_contains` calls an empty haystack a pass. Its twin `F5` (immediately above) reads the **byte-identical expression** with `assert_contains`, which is why run 797's queue said "masked by F5" — a claim this run measured instead of trusting.

- **The method: control first, plant second, out of tree** (harness `/tmp/opencode/probe797bg/`, `pristine/` md5 `dd17c5744f7e69da4e120854bfd34f20` = repo copy before any plant, one directory per variant, original basename in every one, **never committed**). Two disclosed edits carry each copy: run 796's root-pin (`TESTS_DIR=/data/repo/tests` — a copy outside `tests/` would otherwise resolve `tools/` against `/tmp`) and, for planted variants only, the plant. **The control is what validated the layout twice**: the first, flat attempt named the copies `ctl.sh`/`plt.sh`, so `SELF="$TESTS_DIR/$(basename "$0")"` resolved to nothing and the run read **113 / 2** with `Z1 … (got 3 entries, want 2)` + `Z7 … (got 0 factories / 0 recorders)` — run 796's measured basename trap, hit rather than re-argued; the original-basename layout reproduced the in-tree **115 / 0** exactly, which is what licenses the rows below.

- **Six runs, one verdict each:**

  | # | bytes | plant | result |
  |---|---|---|---|
  | 1 | control (root-pin only) | none | **115 / 0, rc 0** — reproduces in-tree |
  2 | pre-fix | F6's own read → `""` (scoped: F5's identical haystack untouched, count 2 → 1) | **115 / 0, rc 0**, F6 printed `PASS` → **LIVE** |
  3 | pre-fix | `json_eval` returns nothing for every F-expression | **98 / 17, rc 1** — F2/F3/F4/F5 `FAIL`, **F6 still `PASS`** |
  4 | post-fix | same as 2 | **114 / 1, rc 1** — `FAIL: F6 … (source is EMPTY - nothing was read)` |
  5 | post-fix | none | **115 / 0, rc 0** — count unmoved |
  6 | **in-tree, edited bytes** | none | **115 / 0, rc 0** |

  Run 2 → run 4 flips exactly (bc)'s verdict rule (*un-teeth'd = the suite still exits 0 on the mutation*), so this is a closure by measurement, not by inspection. **Run 3 is the honesty row**: at input granularity F6 is genuinely masked — F2, F3, F4 and F5 all redden on the same dead read — so the new arm is **belt-and-braces/diagnostic, not the sole teeth**; what puts F6 in the (bf) family is the per-site criterion that run established (a site printing green from an empty read) plus run 2's green suite. Both rows reported, neither offered as the other.

- **The fix, count-preserving by construction:** `assert_not_contains` → `assert_not_contains_read` (the helper `[0.4.263]` added for G2-G7) plus a comment explaining the two-granularity measurement so no future run "simplifies" it away — one assertion at the site before and after, so **`tools/REGISTRY.md` L7063's *115 assertions, 4 mutants* needs no edit and got none**. `bash -n` → **OK** on all four variants and the edited file.

- **Deliberately not done, and why:** the suite's other five `assert_not_contains` sites — `C6` (line 239, `$OUT`), `D9` (270, `sed -n '/Remedy/,$p'`), `E4` (296, `$ERR`, exact twin `E3` reads the same haystack with `assert_contains`), `H5b`/`H6b` (402/403, `$OUT`) — each pairs with a same-haystack `assert_contains`/`assert_eq` sibling and **reads** as masked, but a reading is not a plant: no fix, no rejection claimed for them here, queued as **(bh)** under the same plant-first rule. No `tools/` file, no `app/src/php`, no suite other than this one.

- **Gates, read on this run's bytes:** `bash tests/test_template_sync.sh` → **115 / 0, rc 0**; `bash tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` → **464 / 0, rc 0**; `bash -n` → **OK**; `./tools/queue-source-check` → reading appended below (pre-append it read `rc 0, [0.4.264]` — the sibling's entry, green until this one lands, so the entry-first ordering is what moves it); `./tools/inbox-status` → rc 0 at open **and** at close; `./tools/budget-show` → **2026-10 5.00 / 0.00 / 5.00**, spend **0.00**, free `*-free` model only (`opencode/mimo-v2.6-flash-free`), no key configured, **no secret or PII in any prompt, file or commit**. **No DNS write, no mail sent, no unit restarted, `systemctl reset-failed` not run, `crontab -l` untouched**, nothing under `app/src/php` → **no reviewer gate, no promote**; dev and prod stay **0.4.28**.

- **Queue order disclosed:** run 797 listed **(bi)** first and (bg) second; (bg)'s probe was already measured when this run read the queue, so (bg) landed and **(bi) — `tests/test_regression_run.sh:601-602`, the second bare `cp -a <dir> <dest>` site — is the next run's first step** (re-run its mechanism probe first, per run 797's own instruction, do not trust that reading), then **(bh)** (the five sites above, plant before writing). Standing, not actioned: **(av)(b)** the `/tmp/opencode` prune — still **N and ownership decide before anything is deleted** (this run added `probe797bg/`); **(i)** the operator's **27.9 GB** legacy `/tmp/gocache` cut; **(93)**/**(97)(a)** fires on the investor's approve/reject of `hiring/queue/*.json` (still queued, `2 proposed/VALID`); **(e)** hand-run only; **(k)** clear of my name; the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder (NEEDS-INVESTOR open)` row is the investor's item; watch item — a **fourth** rewrite of the `[0.4.258]` citations, in which case restore them and take it to the gate owner.

- **Close-state disclosures:** paths this commit carries — **`tests/test_template_sync.sh`** (the one helper swap + comment), **`CHANGELOG.md`** (`[0.4.265]`) and **`agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** (this entry, appended **before** the commit that carries it, CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) — and nothing else: **explicit-path commit, never `git add -A`**, because sibling sessions commit on this worktree every few minutes (run 797 itself landed mid-run of another desk: `6bcba38` then `089591b`, both while this probe was in flight). Zero-hour safe, no history rewrite, **no `git push`** (this desk has never pushed), so `git rev-list --count origin/main..main` stays red for whoever pushes next — disclosed rather than moved. Stop-state rule: `git status --porcelain` must **not** list `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` at the end of this run, and any closing reading that needs a second commit **re-appends first** (rule 2), never `git checkout --` it and never parks it in `/tmp`. All probe artefacts (`pristine/`, `runs/*.sh`, every `.out`) live under `/tmp/opencode/probe797bg/` — **outside the repo, never committed**.
