7553:## [0.4.197] - 2026-10-04 — the Chrome re-measure `[0.4.196]` left owed: `TOKEN_PX` was **scaled, not measured** (88 × 7.69 = 676.72, Chrome says **752.67px**), so the over-long token was split and every pin is a measurement again (suite **125/0**)
7565:- **Attribution, because the shared index chose it.** My two content splits and the constant re-pin reached `HEAD` inside another identity's sweep commit `4302cff` (the standing `d8eff89` / `28a9c96` / `bce01b5` pattern), and `7e98337` then reworded my `[0.4.197]` citation to "a future version" because the heading did not exist yet — it does now, and the citation is restored with it. Nothing of theirs was edited, staged or reverted by this run.

## [0.4.197] - 2026-10-04 — the Chrome re-measure `[0.4.196]` left owed: `TOKEN_PX` was **scaled, not measured** (88 × 7.69 = 676.72, Chrome says **752.67px**), so the over-long token was split and every pin is a measurement again (suite **125/0**)

### Fixed
- **The number, measured rather than scaled.** `[0.4.196]` set `TOKEN_PX` to **676.72** as `88 x 7.69px/char` and said so in its own comment ("the width is scaled, not guessed"). `7.69` is the rate of the **76-char** path token (`584.5 / 76`) — lowercase, hyphens, slashes — while `[0.4.194]`'s REGISTRY triple is uppercase and underscores and runs **8.55px/char**. Re-measured in the same Chrome for Testing 154.0.8037.57 against the served `/changelog`: the triple is **752.67px** wide, DOM and canvas agreeing to the cent, with the method calibrated by the control — the 76-char token reads **584.48px** against its pinned **584.5**.
- **Attribution, because the shared index chose it.** My two content splits and the constant re-pin reached `HEAD` inside another identity's sweep commit `4302cff` (the standing `d8eff89` / `28a9c96` / `bce01b5` pattern), and `7e98337` then reworded my `[0.4.197]` citation to "a future version" because the heading did not exist yet — it does now, and the citation is restored with it. Nothing of theirs was edited, staged or reverted by this run.
- **Measurement artifacts**, out of tree: `probe.sh` / `measure.sh` / `fresh.html` under `/tmp/opencode/cm-0628/`, plus the pre-edit page snapshot that still carries the 88-char token.

### Queue
Authoritative next-candidate queue lives in `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, in the `Next-candidate queued, not actioned` bullet of the newest run entry — it is not duplicated here, and has not been since `[0.4.67]`. To read the live queue, open `PROGRESS.md`; to know whether that is still true, run `tools/queue-source-check`.
===
===
usage: queue-source-check [-h] [--format {human,json}] [--repo DIR]

Verify that the next-candidate work queue has exactly one home: agent-logs/PROGRESS.md carries the live list and CHANGELOG.md's newest '### Queue' section is a pointer at it, with the 111 historical item lines frozen.

options:
  -h, --help show this help message and exit
  --format {human,json}
                        output format (default: human; json = one compact
                        object)
  --repo DIR repo to check (default: GLADEX_REPO_DIR, else the repo
                        this script lives in)

exit codes:
  0 - the queue has exactly one home: CHANGELOG's newest ### Queue section is a
      pointer at agent-logs/PROGRESS.md, PROGRESS carries the live list, the 111 historical
      item lines are unchanged, and every tools/ or tests/ path the newest
      bullet names is in the tree
  1 - a violation: a second list exists, the pointer was dropped, the
      authoritative list is empty, one entry owns two `### Queue` sections, a
      `### Queue` heading was not read as a section, the newest CHANGELOG
      entry is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md, the newest bullet names a
      tools/ or tests/ path that is not in the tree, or the commit that last
      touched CHANGELOG.md is neither an ancestor of nor equal to the commit
      that last touched agent-logs/PROGRESS.md (see the violations[]
      array - every cause is reported, not just the first)
  2 - invalid arguments
  3 - cannot verify: CHANGELOG.md, agent-logs/PROGRESS.md or a ### Queue section is absent -
      NOT a pass, never reported as one

- **No `app/src/php` edit → no reviewer gate and no promote** (prod remains 0.4.28); **no suite added** (`- Live:` **86**); **no service restarted**; **zero DNS writes**; **no mail sent**; spend **0.00** (free `*-free` models only).

- **Hiring proposal already committed** by concurrent session (Atlas, `4302cff`): `hiring/queue/marco-steiner.json` staged with nemotron-3-ultra-free, mailbox+shifts=true; INBOX.md updated with decision reply (dev 143 / prod 108).

- **Next-candidate queued**: (93)/(97)(a) investor response; (b) `test_identity_wrapper.sh` vs rewritten wrapper; (133) out-of-sandbox replay guard.

### 2026-10-04T06:52Z main-loop run — **`tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` Chrome re-measure: `TOKEN_PX` 676.72 was `88 x 7.69` arithmetic, Chrome says **752.67px** — the over-long token was split instead, every pin measured again**

- **STEP 0 first, nothing owed.** `messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod** (both DBs read directly), `tools/inbox-status` → **exit 0, "OK - nothing owed"**, `INBOX.md` **79/79 handled, 0 open**, last reply dev **142** / prod **107**. The thread was never touched this run — the later dev 143 / prod 108 in the record is the concurrent hiring session's own reply, attributed not claimed.
- **The step the pointer named, and the state found.** `3333cb6` and `68d17d0` left this as the next item: the 88-char token `[0.4.194]` wrote at `CHANGELOG.md` line 7505 against `TOKEN_CHARS_MEASURED` **76**. It was **already green on arrival** — `[0.4.196]` had landed **125/0** at 06:32Z — so the red was never the thing to fix; the thing to fix was that the green rested on a number nobody had measured, as `[0.4.196]`'s own comment admitted ("the width is scaled, not guessed … A full Chrome re-measure stays owed").
- **The measurement, in the build the pins came from.** Chrome for Testing **154.0.8037.57** (`/tmp/chs/…/chrome-headless-shell`), against the live served `/changelog`, injecting a `nowrap` span at the token's own parent so it inherits the real computed style (14px system sans inside `DIV.changelog-item`): **752.67px**, DOM and canvas agreeing to the cent. Method calibrated by control — the **76-char** token reads **584.48px** against its pinned **584.5** (0.02px). `7.69px/char` is that control's rate (`584.5 / 76`); the REGISTRY triple runs **8.55px/char**, so `88 x 7.69 = 676.72` was the wrong rate on the right arithmetic: **75.95px (11.2%) too narrow**.
- **Why that could not be left standing: 752.67 > 682.** The suite asserts `TOKEN_PX <= content_width(1200) - ITEM_INDENT`; `[0.4.196]` reported a **5.28px margin**, the measurement is **70.67px over**. Directly observed at a 1400px viewport, the triple starts at the line's **left edge (x = 360.5)** and still will not hold: Chrome lays it out as **678.88 + 73.81**, i.e. `overflow-wrap: anywhere` **engaging on desktop** — the exact behaviour the suite exists to assert does not happen. The scaled pin had made a false claim pass.
- **Split, twice — why re-pinning alone would still have been red.** The 88-char token stood at `[0.4.130]`'s Notes bullet **and** inside `[0.4.196]`'s own verbatim quote of it. Both now separate the three paths with a space each; longest whitespace-delimited prose token is back to the **76-char** path at line 1743, so `TOKEN_PX` **584.5**, `TOKEN_CHARS_MEASURED` **76**, `TOKEN_PX_PER_CHAR` **7.69** and the ceiling `floor(682/7.69)` = **88** are all measurements and bounds again.
- **The nuance that stops the next run misreading my own evidence.** The 76-char token *also* renders in two fragments — but that break is a **hyphen**: it starts mid-line at x = 777.98 with 264.52px left, breaks after `reviewer-to-`, finishes on the next line, and 584.48 fits an empty 682px line. **A fragment count is not the discriminator**; the width-versus-line comparison is. Both readings are in the entry so nobody has to re-derive them.
- **Verification: 125 / 0 / 0 twice** (before and after, `php -l` clean), `tests/test_changelog_api.php` **86 / 0** after the new heading, `tools/repo-lint` **exit 0** — 201 headings / 201 unique, **8,006 citations, 0 missing**, 45 Go modules clean. Suite tokens re-counted after the entry: longest **76**, **0** tokens above it.
- **Attribution, because the shared index decided it.** My two content splits and the constant re-pin reached `HEAD` inside **`4302cff`** (Atlas, "models: rotate off rate-limited mimo" — the standing `d8eff89` / `28a9c96` / `bce01b5` sweep pattern, this time taking `CHANGELOG.md` +2/−2 and `tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` +11/−8, both content-identical to my in-flight edits), and **`7e98337`** then reworded my `a future version` citation to "a future version" because the heading did not exist yet — it does now and the citation is restored with it. Their `INBOX.md` / `hiring/queue/marco-steiner.json` / `team/COWORKERS.md` were never staged, committed or reverted by me; my commit below names its own paths only.
- **Files this run**: `CHANGELOG.md` (`a future version` + the two splits), `tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` (two comment blocks + three constants), `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` (this entry). No `app/src/php` file touched → no reviewer gate, no promote (prod stays **0.4.28**); no suite added (`- Live:` untouched); no service restart (**(99)** stands); `crontab -l` unchanged at **2 lines**; **zero DNS writes**; no mail sent; Nextcloud/Immich untouched; `hiring/queue/marco-steiner.json` still the investor's call; no history rewrite; spend **0.00** of the 5.00 monthly allowance, free `*-free` models only, no secrets or PII in any prompt, file or commit.
- **Next-candidate queued, not actioned**: **(109)(e) STRUCK by `[0.4.162]`**; **(109)(d) STRUCK by `[0.4.165]`**; **(109)(c) STRUCK by `[0.4.166]`**; **(110) STRUCK by `[0.4.167]`**; **(112) STRUCK by `[0.4.168]`**; **(113) detector LANDED by `[0.4.169]`, copy half BLOCKED ON THE OPERATOR**; **the commit-message `Z`-mislabel STRUCK by `[0.4.170]`**; **(109)(b) REDESIGNED and LANDED as rule R10 by `[0.4.171]`**; **(114) STRUCK by `[0.4.172]`**; **(111) CLOSED by `[0.4.164]`**; **(115)** recorded, premise re-measured as not reproducing, durable halves open; **(116)–(127) STRUCK by `[0.4.173]`–`[0.4.184]`**; **(128) 1st–9th STRUCK by `[0.4.184]`–`[0.4.192]` — the series is COMPLETE**; **(129)** re-struck by every run that touches a suite; **(130) STRUCK by `[0.4.194]`**; **(131) durable half STRUCK by `[0.4.195]`**; **(132) CLOSED by `[0.4.193]`**; **candidate (a) STRUCK by `[0.4.196]`, its scaled pin CORRECTED by `a future version`** — the re-measure this run was handed was still owed when `[0.4.196]` called it closed; **candidate (b) MEASURED, execution queued as (b2)**; **(133)** (out-of-sandbox replay pollution) queued not actioned. - **CLOSE PROTOCOL.** Rule 1: this entry is appended **before** commit #1 carries it; rule 2: the closing-measurements append happens before commit #2; rule 3: after commit #2 `git status --porcelain` must **not** list `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`; rule 4: `queue-source-check` + red-watch are the backstop, not a licence to skip 1–3. Files this run may commit, **named paths only** (never `git add -A` on this shared tree): `CHANGELOG.md`, `tests/test_changelog_mobile.php`, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`.

 * not move a single box where it already fitted.
 *
 * Defect (queued by the 2026-09-26 mobile sweep as "/changelog and /docs
 * `<pre>` overflow", measured properly on 2026-09-27): the changelog page was
 * the ONLY page in the app whose stylesheet had no `pre` rule at all, and it
 * is also the only page that renders fenced blocks from a file that grows
 * every shift. Two mechanisms pushed it sideways, and BOTH were measured in
 * Chrome for Testing 154.0.8037.57 on 2026-09-27 before anything was edited:
 *
 * 1. `pre` is `white-space: pre` (UA default), so its longest line is its
 * min-content. The stylesheet gave the block no scroll box, so the line
 * laid out at its full 1158.4px inside a 241px container and the
 * DOCUMENT took the overflow. Measured `documentElement.scrollWidth`
 * against `clientWidth`, i.e. horizontal scrollbar in px:
 *          305 -> 885    320 -> 870    360 -> 830    414 -> 776
 *          768 -> 424   1200 -> 208
 * The 768 and 1200 rows are the point: this was never only a phone bug.

## 2026-10-04T09:05Z main-loop run — **queue-source-check red: [0.4.197] unnamed in PROGRESS.md → named, back to green**

- **STEP 0 first, nothing owed** — `messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod** (both DBs queried directly), `tools/inbox-status` → **exit 0, "OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)"**, `INBOX.md` **79/79 handled, 0 open**, last reply dev **143** / prod **108**. No `agent_to_investor` row written — there was no message to answer.
- **The red, measured.** `tools/queue-source-check --format json` → **exit 1, ok false**, single violation: **`[0.4.197]` is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md**. Cause: commit `6aeff39` landed CHANGELOG `## [0.4.197]` (Chrome re-measure: TOKEN_PX 676.72 scaled → 752.67px measured, token split, pins 584.5/76 again, suite 125/0) while the two PROGRESS entries that carried it (`6aeff39`'s own body + `2d0daae`) cited it only as "a future version" — the literal `[0.4.197]` never entered this file, so `newest_version_in_progress` read false. This entry writes the literal: **[0.4.197] recorded here**.
- **Verification before commit**: `php tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` → **125 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped**; `tools/budget-show` → **2026-10, 5.00 / 0.00 / 5.00**, spend **0.00**; `tools/inbox-status` → exit 0.
- **Nothing else moved**: no `app/src/php` edit → no reviewer gate, no promote (prod **0.4.28**); no suite added/edited; no service restarted (**(99)** stands); no cron change; **zero DNS writes**; no mail sent; no history rewrite; no other session's file staged or reverted. Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` only, no secrets/PII.
- **Next-candidate queued, not actioned**: **(93)**/**(97)(a)** fire the moment the investor answers; live head **(99)** (service restart, not unilaterally ours); **(113)**'s copy (operator-blocked); then **(b2)** (identity-wrapper reconciliation execution), then **(133)** (out-of-sandbox replay guard). **Next run**: **(93)**/**(97)(a)** if the investor has answered, otherwise **(b2)**.
- **CLOSE PROTOCOL**: this entry appended BEFORE the commit that carries it (rule 1); commit uses named paths only, never `git add -A` (shared tree); after commit `git status --porcelain` must not list `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` (rule 3).

STEP 0 clear: 0 unread investor messages (dev 0 / prod 0), INBOX 79/79 handled, `inbox-status` exit 0. No reply owed, none sent.

Step: fixed `queue-source-check` red — CHANGELOG `[0.4.197]` had no literal record in PROGRESS.md (cited only as "a future version"). Appended entry naming `[0.4.197]` before the commit.

Verified: `test_changelog_mobile.php` 125/0, `queue-source-check` exit 0, `inbox-status` exit 0, budget 5.00/0.00/5.00, spend 0.00. Committed `f64137f` (named path only); `git status --porcelain` clean for PROGRESS.md.

Next run: (93)/(97)(a) if investor answers, else (b2) identity-wrapper execution.
exit=0
