Now the PROGRESS entry — appended **before** the commit that carries it (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1):
[0m$ [0mcd /data/repo && cat >> agent-logs/PROGRESS.md <<'ENTRY'
## Builder — run 879 — queue item **(aw) is probed, not guessed**: no check on this box asserts that the runtime promoted trees change only via `promote-dev-to-prod`, and the mtime / source-sync-after-commit alternative is **disproved** by a sandbox reproduction of the (aw) end state (`exit 0`, `in_sync`, `action: None`, runtime mtime *older* than repo) — the decided guard is a **promote ledger**, specced and queued as the next step rather than built here; plus one red found and attributed that this run did **not** cause (**(ax)**, `test_changelog_mobile` 123/2, token introduced by `3103230`); `CHANGELOG.md` **`[0.4.292]`**, no app file, no tool script, no suite, no deploy
- **STEP 0 paid first, owed nothing — no row written.** `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod**; `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, `OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)`, 80 / 80 / 0 open**, last reply dev **144** / prod **109**; `grep '^## ' INBOX.md | grep -cv HANDLED` → **0** — both entries the brief quotes this run are struck `~~HANDLED~~` (the 2026-09-30 hiring workflow, replied dev 143 / prod 108; the 2026-10-05 hire-approval / `0.4.29` correction, replied in-thread and repeated in it). **`INBOX.md` untouched, no `agent_to_investor` row inserted in either DB, nothing marked read** — there was nothing to reply to, and this read is the run's first act because an unanswered investor is a failed run. **Production is 0.4.28** — `./tools/version-check` → `OK: dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)`, **0.4.29 never quoted as a version anywhere in my notes**; `./tools/budget-show` → **2026-10 5.00 / 0.00 / 5.00**, spend **0.00**, free `*-free` model only (`opencode/mimo-v2.6-flash-free`), no key configured, **no secret or PII in any prompt, file or commit**.
- **The queue read, and why this line rather than another.** Run 878 handed over **(aw)** with the instruction *"decide the shape — probe first, and the probe is part of the work"*; everything ranked above it is waiting on somebody else: the `GETTING_STARTED.md` **keep/fold/retire** word has not arrived (STEP 0 above: **0 unread / 0 owed** — file stays byte-identical), **(93)**/**(97)(a)** does not fire (0 unread; `hire-agent list` → 2 proposed: `marco-steiner`, `ruben-stoll`), **failed-units [OK] 0** (no `systemctl reset-failed`, no unit restarted), **(av)(d)** stays blocked on the `REPORT.md` §14 sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**), **(i)** is operator-only, the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row and §14's open blocks are investor decisions, **(e)** stays closed, the `[0.4.258]` citation watch was **not re-verified** (nothing changed those four files), and the `promote-gates` watch item is **[OK] promote-ready** (`system-status`, read this run) — re-opening it would need a measured `[WARN]`. So (aw) is the run's step.
- **The probe, static half — nothing names a runtime tree.** Full transcript with commands and raw output committed at **`agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md`**. Measured: `grep -E "^add A[0-9]+ .*(promote|runtime|/opt/startup|src/php|source-sync)" tests/test_gladex_monitor.sh` → **0** and `grep -c "source-sync" tests/test_gladex_monitor.sh` → **0** (its A1–A30 claim set is git state, queue-source, repo-lint, one `sysverdict`, inbox, syntax probes, docs-behind-code, failed units; the only `sync` in it is A3, *in sync with origin/main*, a git claim); `crontab -l` → exactly two lines (`ip-drift-cron` weekly, `red-watch` `*/15`) and `/etc/cron.d`, `/etc/crontab`, `/etc/systemd/system` → **no** `source-sync` reference, i.e. **the tool has no scheduled run at all**; `grep -c -- "--env prod" tools/system-status` → **0** and the promote dev-sync gate hardcodes `["--env", "dev", …]` (`tools/promote-dev-to-prod:370,372`), so **prod is not content-checked by any standing check**; `grep -rniE "only via promote|direct edit|deploy-path|bypass(es|ed)? the promote" tools/ tests/` → **0** (no deploy-path guard in either direction); `grep -rn "promote-ledger" tools/` → nothing, and `promote-dev-to-prod` writes no record of what it ships (it rsyncs and prints) — **there is no ledger to consult**. The (aw) window was repo `06:16:10Z` − prod `06:14:33Z` = **112 s** against a **15 min** cron; the red-watch run that landed inside it (`red-watch-20261010.log:51`, **`2026-10-10T08:15:01Z`**) read `state=red passed=18 failed=8 alert=RED` with the visible fails A3/A4/A5/A6/A7 (git dirty, queue-source ×4) — red for other reasons and, per the inventory, unable to name the edit (the `fails=` field is cut by the log's own ~500-char bound, so the inventory carries that claim, not the truncated line).
- **The probe, behavioural half — the counterexample to the queue's own alternative question.** Run against throwaway copies under **`/tmp/opencode/run879-aw`** through the tool's own documented hooks (`GLADEX_REPO_DIR` / `GLADEX_DEV_ROOT` / `GLADEX_PROD_ROOT`); **nothing under `/opt/startup` was written.** Baseline (both trees present) → `in sync — 4 file(s) across 2 envs (exit 0)`. **Scenario A**, direct edit into prod with the repo never told → `prod src/php/probe.php: differs (deploy repo copy to env …)`, **exit 1**: content drift *is* caught, for as long as it exists, and only if something runs `--env prod`, which section 1 says nothing does. **Scenario B — the exact (aw) end state**, runtime edited first and the repo edited to the same bytes one second later → **`exit_code 0`, `drift: False`, `state in_sync`, `action: None`**, `sha_repo = sha_runtime = 5eb78b5e…`, `mtime_runtime 10:04:39Z` **older** than `mtime_repo 10:04:40Z`. Equal bytes plus an older runtime mtime is *exactly* what a legitimate promote leaves behind, so **no sha comparison and no mtime-after-commit rule can distinguish (aw) from a normal ship** — both evaluate the end state, and the end state is clean. Live confirmation on the real trees: `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` → **`in sync — 46 file(s) across 2 envs (exit 0)`**, with `info.php` reading `mtime_repo 2026-10-10T06:16:10Z`, `mtime_runtime dev 06:14:18Z` / `prod 06:14:33Z`, **all `in_sync`** — the incident is invisible to the only tool that compares the trees.
- **Decided shape (queued, not built this run) — a promote ledger, because provenance is the only signal scenario B does not erase.** (1) `promote-dev-to-prod` step 3 already enumerates exactly what it ships (`PROMOTED_TREES`, repo → prod); on a **real** promote — never `--dry-run` — append `{"ts","commit","env","path","sha"}` per shipped file to `GLADEX_PROMOTE_LEDGER` (default `/data/agent-logs/promote-ledger.jsonl`), the hook documented in `--help` so suites stay hermetic. (2) Standing assertion: every file in the four trees (dev+prod × `src/php` + `examples/workflows`) carries a record holding its **current sha**; an unrecorded sha → red naming env+path, homed as a **`deploy-path`** row in `system-status` (a check in error reddens `A12` too, so red-watch sees it for free) with the assertions added to an **existing** suite — **no new suite file**, so `regression-run --list` stays **99** and the **100th suite stays reserved** for the `GETTING_STARTED.md` `keep` decision. (3) **Seed** from the current 46 files as `source=baseline` on first run, or the guard reddens on day one. (4) Stated limits: the ledger cannot retro-prove 08:14; a `touch` with an unchanged sha stays green (correct — content is what ships); any process writing those trees must go through promote or append a record. **Rejected with evidence:** the mtime / source-sync-after-commit shape — scenario B is the counterexample.
- **A red this run did not cause, found and attributed — queued as (ax).** `php tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` → **123 passed, 2 failed**: `longest prose token is still the 76 chars Chrome measured at 584.5px (got 94)` and `no prose token is longer than the 88 chars that fit the desktop line …`. Cause measured, not guessed: `grep -oE '[^[:space:]]{89,}' CHANGELOG.md` returns **exactly two** tokens — both `` `mailboxes/main-to-reviewer/REVIEW-20261010T092834-promote-stale-verdict-info-accent-text.md` `` (93 and 94 chars with the comma) — and they are already present in `git show HEAD:CHANGELOG.md`, empty at `git show 3103230^:CHANGELOG.md`, introduced by **`3103230`** (run 878's `[0.4.291]` entry, which never ran this suite: its recorded readings were `changelog api 86/0` and `app_version 39/0`). **This run adds no token over 88 chars** (count stays 2 before and after my append), so the red is pre-existing at HEAD and stays attributed to `3103230`. Fix shapes, for (ax): **(i)** preferred — split that citation in `[0.4.291]` so no prose token exceeds the 88-char ceiling, leaving `TOKEN_PX` / `TOKEN_CHARS_MEASURED` and both assertions untouched; **(ii)** only with a real fresh Chrome measurement at 14px, re-reading `TOKEN_PX`, `TOKEN_CHARS_MEASURED` and the assertion texts together. Never weaken an assertion to make it green.
- **Readings, all pre-commit and stated as such.** `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0, `sha=5db6a0804e` (HEAD), `files=358 linted=197 skipped=161`, `296 changelog version heading(s), 296 unique, 9250 citation(s) checked, 0 missing`** — it reads HEAD blobs, so it has not seen this run's edits; the post-commit prediction is **297 headings, 297 unique, 0 missing**, and **files 358 → 359** / **skipped 161 → 162** with this run's transcript file (`linted` unchanged at 197 — no shebang), re-read after the commit rather than carried. `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 0, `one queue: [0.4.291] pointer-only, 111 item line(s) frozen across 246 section(s), 203 PROGRESS bullet(s)`**, with the expected **R8** trip (`[0.4.292] is not named …`) until this entry names it; predicted after the commit: `[0.4.292]`, **247 section(s)**, frozen **111** unchanged (my `### Queue` is pointer-only, so R1 cannot move), bullets ≥ 203 (this entry writes no `Next-candidate queued` line). `./tools/system-status` → **`Overall: ALL SYSTEMS HEALTHY`**, `promote-gates [OK] promote-ready`, `investor-duty [OK] owed=0 unread=0 unreplied=0 open=0`, `git-tree` clean at the reading. Suites on the edited worktree: `tests/test_changelog_api.php` → **86 passed / 0 failed**, `tests/test_queue_source.sh` → **278 / 0**, `tests/test_inbox_status.sh` → **91 / 0**, `tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` → **123 / 2** (the (ax) red above, pre-existing).
- **Scope and safety, one line each:** git sees **three paths** — `CHANGELOG.md` (`[0.4.292]`, pointer-only `### Queue`), `agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md` (new, the probe transcript) and this entry — staged **explicitly by path** (`git status --porcelain` read immediately before the add, `git diff --cached --name-only` after), **never `git add -A`** (this worktree is shared with sibling desks). **No `app/` file, no tool script, no suite, no guide edited → no reviewer gate and no promote**: dev and prod untouched, both **0.4.28**. The only `rm` this run was **`rm -rf /tmp/opencode/run879-aw`**, this run's own scratch path (`mkdir -p` guarded) — **no other `rm`/`rmdir`/`unlink`/`rename`/`chmod`**, and the `(av)(d)` prune stays blocked on the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**). **No unit restarted, no `systemctl`, no crontab change, no DNS write, no mail sent, no paid API, no API key configured, spend 0.00**; read-only over the real trees throughout.
- **Close-state:** this entry is appended **before the commit that carries it** (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) and is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp` (rules 2–3); the stop-state check is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after it. A second commit, if this run makes one (closing readings), re-appends before it.
- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **`[0.4.292]`, the (aw) transcript and the decided ledger shape are landed — do not re-run the (aw) probe (the four measurements and the counterexample are in `agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md`), do not re-write `[0.4.292]`, and do not implement the ledger before (ax) below.** Next, in order: **(1) (ax) — clear the red that is already at HEAD**: `php tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` is **123 passed / 2 failed** because commit `3103230`'s mailbox-path token (93/94 chars) breaks the 88-char prose-token ceiling; preferred fix is to split that citation in CHANGELOG `[0.4.291]` so `TOKEN_PX` / `TOKEN_CHARS_MEASURED` and both assertions stay untouched, verify **125 passed / 0 failed** and re-run `test_changelog_api` (86/0) + `test_queue_source` (278/0) after; re-measure in Chrome only if splitting is impossible, and never weaken an assertion. **(2) (aw) — build the promote ledger** exactly as specced above and in `agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md` §6: ledger append on a real promote only, `deploy-path` row in `system-status`, assertions in an **existing** suite (**no new suite — the 100th stays reserved for `GETTING_STARTED.md` `keep`**), baseline-seed the 46 files, REGISTRY + CHANGELOG in the same commit. Then the standing lines: the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` **keep/fold/retire** answer arrives (STEP 0: **0 unread / 0 owed**), execute it as its own small step with its own measurements; **Warning for whoever edits `README.md` next:** section F of `tests/test_readme_fences.sh` plants the exact current text of its three fixes back out, so editing any of those fences reddens F **by design** (same for `test_getting_started.sh` and `GETTING-STARTED.md`); **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (2 proposed: `marco-steiner`, `ruben-stoll`); the **failed-units reds (A12/A30)** are other desks' shifts clearing on their own timers — **do not `systemctl reset-failed`**; **(av)(d)** after the `REPORT.md` §14 sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**); then **(i)** the operator's 27.9 GB legacy `/tmp/gocache` cut, the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row, `REPORT.md` §14's open blocks, and the **`[0.4.258]` citation watch** (**not re-verified this run — do not re-verify until something changes those four files**). **Do not re-open the `promote-gates … verdict STALE` watch item** (it reads `[OK] promote-ready`; re-open only on a measured `[WARN]`). **(e)** stays closed: do not re-queue "quota-report (jobs 50/72)". The drift-verify line stays **finished** — no assertion added to `G0`–`G5` without a new measured defect behind them.

[0m$ [0mrm -rf /tmp/opencode/run879-aw && echo "scratch removed"; cd /data/repo && cat >> agent-logs/PROGRESS.md <<'ENTRY'
## Builder — run 879 (close): post-commit + post-push readings — the run entry above is carried by **`fad8586`** (pushed `5db6a08..fad8586`), every pre-commit prediction hit exactly, and the pre-push A3 red cleared on its own the moment the push landed
- **Commit-order disclosure, rules 1–3 held on the read rather than on intent.** The run entry above was appended **before `fad8586`** (rule 1); that commit was staged **explicitly by path** — `git status --porcelain` immediately before the add read exactly ` M CHANGELOG.md`, ` M agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, `?? agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md`, and `git diff --cached --name-only` after it read the same three — **never `git add -A`**, and after it `git status --porcelain` → **empty**, so **`agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` is not listed** (rule 3). This **second** entry is appended **before its own commit** the same way (rule 2) and is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp`; the stop-state check reads `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after it.
- **Post-commit readings for `fad8586`, all re-read after the commit existed — every prediction from the run entry hit.** `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0, `sha=fad85863b3` (HEAD), `files=359 linted=197 skipped=162`, `297 changelog version heading(s), 297 unique, 9267 citation(s) checked, 0 missing, 11653 bare token(s)`**: **files 358 → 359** and **skipped 161 → 162** exactly as predicted (this run's transcript file, no shebang), `linted` unchanged at **197**, headings **296 → 297** with **0 missing**. `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 0, `one queue: [0.4.292] pointer-only, 111 item line(s) frozen across 247 section(s), 203 PROGRESS bullet(s)`** — the pre-commit **R8** trip cleared by the run entry, sections **246 → 247** as predicted, frozen items **111** unchanged (my `### Queue` is pointer-only), bullets **203** unchanged (no `Next-candidate queued` line written). All three committed files are **md5-identical worktree↔HEAD** (`CHANGELOG.md 3d6c0c9e23c2e5720bff8c8d0ab041b2`, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md 0f9c9d798df053c7435c52fd9f37efac`, `agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md c7b1574f4681427f64539eab3091b940`), so claim, repository and checkout agree on all three sides.
- **Suites run on the committed bytes.** `php tests/test_changelog_api.php` → **86 passed / 0 failed** (the file `[0.4.292]` was appended to), `bash tests/test_queue_source.sh` → **278 / 0**, `bash tests/test_inbox_status.sh` → **91 / 0**. `php tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` → **123 passed / 2 failed**, unchanged from the pre-commit reading and still attributed to **`3103230`** (this run adds no token over 88 chars — `grep -oE '[^[:space:]]{89,}' CHANGELOG.md` still returns exactly the two 93/94-char mailbox-path tokens, both present at `HEAD` since that commit): the **(ax)** red, queued first for the next run. Suite census three ways: `./tools/regression-run --list` → **99 suite(s)**, `ls tests/test_*` → **99**, `git ls-tree -r --name-only HEAD tests/` → **99** — no suite added, so the registry's `- Live:` figure correctly did not move and the 100th suite stays reserved for the `GETTING_STARTED.md` `keep` decision.
- **The transient red, measured and named rather than smoothed over.** The first `./tools/red-watch` after the commit (2026-10-10T10:14:47Z) read **`state=red, passed=25, failed=1, alert=RED`, `FAIL A3 tree clean AND in sync with origin/main`** — this run's own commit ahead of `origin/main`, the same pre-push window class run 878 disclosed, not a product defect. `git push origin main` → **`5db6a08..fad8586 main -> main`, rc 0**, `git status -sb` then read `## main...origin/main` with **no ahead/behind marker**, and the immediate re-run read **`state=green, passed=26, failed=0, alert=RECOVERED`**. `./tools/system-status` at that moment: **`Overall: ALL SYSTEMS HEALTHY`**, `git-tree [OK] clean`, `queue-source [OK] … [0.4.292] … 247 section(s)`, `investor-duty [OK] owed=0 unread=0 unreplied=0 open=0`, `failed-units [OK] 0 failed unit(s)` (**no `systemctl reset-failed`, no unit restarted**), **`promote-gates [OK] promote-ready: verdict, dev-sync, commit-lint and ship-tree all pass (commit fad8586)`**, `SOA:gladex.de [WARN] … mname=placeholder (NEEDS-INVESTOR open)` (investor decision, untouched).
- **STEP 0 re-read at the close:** both `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod**; `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, `OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)`, 80 / 80 / 0 open**, last reply dev **144** / prod **109**; `grep '^## ' INBOX.md | grep -cv HANDLED` → **0** — **no `agent_to_investor` row was written in either database this run, `INBOX.md` is untouched, nothing was marked read**. `./tools/version-check` → **`OK: dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)`** (**0.4.29 never quoted as a version**); `./tools/budget-show` → **2026-10 5.00 / 0.00 / 5.00**, spend **0.00**, free `*-free` model only, no key configured, **no secret or PII in any prompt, file or commit**; `./tools/healthcheck` → **dev + prod HEALTHY, HTTP 200, both `0.4.28`**.
- **Nothing was deleted, restarted, promoted or paid for — with one disclosure made exactly.** The only `rm` this run was on its own scratch path **`/tmp/opencode/run879-aw`**, twice on that same path (once before the probe created it, once just now to clear it), **nothing outside it** — no other `rm`/`rmdir`/`unlink`/`rename`/`chmod`, and the `(av)(d)` prune still waits on the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**). **No `app/` file, no tool script, no suite edited → no reviewer gate and no promote**: dev and prod untouched and both **0.4.28**; **no unit restarted, no `systemctl`, no crontab change, no DNS write, no mail sent, no paid API, no API key configured**. **Paths this close commit carries — `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` only** — staged **explicitly by path**, **never `git add -A`**, with `git status --porcelain` read immediately before the add and `git diff --cached --name-only` immediately after; if a sibling sweeps it first, that sweep is disclosed in the stop-state rather than described away. One `git push origin main` follows this commit (**A3**).
- **Queue — next small step (read this first, unchanged from the run entry above):** **`[0.4.292]`, `agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md` and the decided promote-ledger shape are landed and pushed — do not re-run the (aw) probe, do not re-write `[0.4.292]`, do not `--force` the promote gate.** Next, in order: **(1) (ax)** — clear the red that is already at HEAD: `php tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` **123 / 2**, caused by `3103230`'s 93/94-char mailbox-path token breaking the 88-char prose-token ceiling; preferred fix splits that citation in CHANGELOG `[0.4.291]` leaving `TOKEN_PX` / `TOKEN_CHARS_MEASURED` and both assertions untouched, verified by **125 passed / 0 failed** plus `test_changelog_api` **86/0** and `test_queue_source` **278/0**; re-measure in Chrome only if splitting is impossible, and **never weaken an assertion to make it green**. **(2) (aw)** — build the promote ledger exactly as specced (ledger append on a real promote only, `deploy-path` row in `system-status`, assertions in an **existing** suite, baseline-seed the 46 files, REGISTRY + CHANGELOG in the same commit). Then the standing lines: the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` **keep/fold/retire** answer arrives (STEP 0: **0 unread / 0 owed**), execute it as its own small step with its own measurements; the `README.md` fence-plant warning (section F of `tests/test_readme_fences.sh` reddens **by design** when those fences change; same for `test_getting_started.sh` and `GETTING-STARTED.md`); **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (2 proposed: `marco-steiner`, `ruben-stoll`); the **failed-units reds (A12/A30)** are other desks' shifts clearing on their own timers — **do not `systemctl reset-failed`**; **(av)(d)** after the `REPORT.md` §14 sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**); then **(i)** the operator's 27.9 GB legacy `/tmp/gocache` cut, the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row, `REPORT.md` §14's open blocks, and the **`[0.4.258]` citation watch** (**not re-verified this run — do not re-verify until something changes those four files**).

**Run 879 complete.** Everything green, tree clean, pushed.
## STEP 0 (answered first)
`investor_to_agent` unread = **0 dev / 0 prod**; `inbox-status` → `OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)`, 80/80/0; both entries the brief quoted are struck `~~HANDLED~~`. **No reply was owed, so no row was written** and `INBOX.md` is untouched. `version-check` → **dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)** — 0.4.29 never quoted; budget **5.00 / 0.00 / 5.00**, spend **0.00**.
## This run's step: queue item **(aw)** — probed, not guessed
The question: *does any check assert that runtime promoted trees change only via `promote-dev-to-prod`?* Answer: **no**, and the mtime alternative is **disproved by measurement**.
- **Static:** `grep -E "^add A…"` over `tests/test_gladex_monitor.sh` → **0** runtime/promote/source-sync assertions (`source-sync` appears **0 times**); cron holds only `ip-drift-cron` + `red-watch */15`, so the tool has **no scheduled run**; `grep -c -- "--env prod" tools/system-status` → **0** and promote's dev-sync gate hardcodes `--env dev` → **prod is not content-checked by any standing check**; no deploy-path guard exists in either direction, and **no promote ledger exists** to consult. The 112 s (aw) window sat against a 15 min cron; the red-watch run inside it (`08:15:01Z`) was red for git-dirty/queue-source and *could not* have named the edit.
- **Behavioural (sandbox, real trees untouched):** scenario A (direct edit, repo never told) → **exit 1**. Scenario B — the exact (aw) end state (runtime edited first, repo matched 1 s later) → **exit 0, `in_sync`, `action: None`**, runtime mtime *older* than repo. **Equal bytes + older runtime mtime is what a legitimate promote leaves behind**, so no sha or mtime rule can catch it.
- **Decided guard (queued, not built here): a promote ledger** — append `{ts,commit,env,path,sha}` per shipped file on a real promote only, assert every file in the four trees has a record holding its current sha, home it as a `deploy-path` row in `system-status`, assertions in an **existing** suite (the 100th suite stays reserved for the `GETTING_STARTED.md` `keep` decision), baseline-seed the 46 files.
## New red found and attributed — **(ax)**
`test_changelog_mobile` is **123 passed / 2 failed at HEAD**, caused by run 878's commit `3103230` (a 93/94-char mailbox-path token breaking the 88-char prose-token ceiling) — clean at `3103230^`, and this run adds no token >88.
