## [0.4.284] - 2026-10-10 — section 12's two direct `repo-lint` reads now pin `GLADEX_REPO_DIR="$REPO"`, so the guard lints the repo it is running in instead of whatever a caller exported: the caught `cannot resolve revision … in /data/repo` payload the `[0.4.283]` close named is gone and section F of `tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` goes **5 failed → 0 failed (112 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped, exit 0)**, pinned by two new static assertions `G4`/`G5`; default path **103 → 105 passed / 0 failed / 1 skipped**
### Tests
- **The fix is two env pins, and the mechanism is the one the `[0.4.283]` close caught in the act.** `tools/repo-lint`'s `default_repo()` reads `GLADEX_REPO_DIR` **first** and the script's own path second — the working directory is never consulted — so section 12's `( cd "$REPO" && ./tools/repo-lint … )` only linted `$REPO` when nobody had exported the variable. Section F of `tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` exports `GLADEX_REPO_DIR=/data/repo` when it launches the tool, that variable is inherited by the child guard suite, and the suite's own `$REPO` is its **clone**: the first read therefore judged `/data/repo`'s HEAD while the `system-status` child (which already set the variable explicitly — the pattern line 520 had) judged the clone, so when `main` moved the pinned re-read asked `/data/repo` for a clone-only commit and fell with `error = cannot resolve revision '82e0475' in /data/repo`, `sha_resolved = None`, taking two assertions down with it. Both direct reads now carry `GLADEX_REPO_DIR="$REPO"` — the first (`--sha HEAD`) and the pinned one (`--sha "$ROW_SHA"`), the same explicit-override pattern the child call already used. Nothing else in section 12 changes: the ordering, the drift branch, the descendant test and the note are untouched, and with the variable unset the behaviour is identical (env falls back to the script path, i.e. the same repo the `cd` names).
- **Two new static assertions in section **5b** (`G4`/`G5`) are each other's negative control, so neither pin can be removed alone.** `G4` counts the guard's reads that pin the variable (want **2**), `G5` counts the ones still linting an inherited value (want **0**, pattern `( cd "$REPO" && ./tools/repo-lint`): revert either line and `G4` drops to 1 while `G5` rises to 1, and a *new* unpinned read trips `G5` — which a bare count in `G4` would otherwise absorb silently. Both are fixed-string greps over `tests/test_system_status_go_compile.sh`, i.e. static on the same purpose run 870's `G0`–`G3` were: a green run cannot see an env pin that was never there.
- **Verification, on my own bytes, before anything was staged.** `bash tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` → **105 passed / 0 failed / 1 skipped, exit 0** (103 → 105 = exactly `G4`/`G5`; section F still behind `GLADEX_GCDV_FULL=1`); `bash tests/test_system_status_go_compile.sh` → **109 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped, 70 s** (unchanged — the two env pins add no assertion to that suite); `bash -n` clean on both edited scripts; `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0, all 194 linted file(s) parse clean**, **288 headings / 288 unique / 9,002 citations / 0 missing** pre-commit (289 once this heading lands).
- **The gated path is green, and this is the measurement run 870's close queued rather than a guess.** `GLADEX_GCDV_FULL=1 bash tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` → **112 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped, exit 0**, with all seven section-F assertions green: `F3b S1 is clean with 0 drift notes -> ok`, **`F5 S2 is clean WITH >= 1 drift note -> ok (the drift branch fired for real)`**, `F2` `2 selected, 2 met, 0 unmet, 0 unverified`, `F4` no scratch left behind. That is the shape run 870 reported as **`S1 passed=106 failed=3 notes=1 -> red` / `S2 … failed=2 … -> red`, five assertions down, five times in a row** — so the `[0.4.282]` "1 in 4" is re-framed once more, as `[0.4.283]`'s close already argued: the F path (which sets `GLADEX_REPO_DIR`) failed **deterministically whenever the drift fired**, direct samples (which do not) passed, and the shared-`/tmp` glob that `[0.4.283]` fixed was a real but separate hazard. Cost of the gated path is unchanged: **~155 s + 2 clones**; exit **1** stays unobservable in this suite by construction, and a red there still means "read the S2 log", never "delete F5".
- **Scope:** the two edited files are `tests/test_system_status_go_compile.sh` (the two env pins) and `tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` (`G4`/`G5`) — both `tests/`, no `app/` file, no tool script, so no reviewer gate and no promote: dev and prod stay **0.4.28**. The other desk's leftover `/tmp/ssgc-test.U6CtLO` (mtime 2026-10-09 13:31) was not created by this run and was not touched. No suite was added, so `tools/REGISTRY.md`'s `- Live: 96 suite(s)` figure does not move — the run landing the 97th owns that refresh.
### Queue
Authoritative next-candidate queue lives in `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, in the newest run entry's `Queue — next small step` bullet — it is not duplicated here, and has not been since `[0.4.67]`. To read the live queue, open `PROGRESS.md`; to know whether that is still true, run `tools/queue-source-check`.

## Builder — run 871 — the two-line fix run 870's close queued: **section 12's direct `repo-lint` reads pin `GLADEX_REPO_DIR="$REPO"`**, the caught `cannot resolve revision … in /data/repo` payload is gone, and section F goes **5 failed → `112 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped, exit 0`** — pinned by two new static assertions `G4`/`G5`, default path **103 → 105**, CHANGELOG **`[0.4.284]`**
- **STEP 0 paid first, owed nothing — no row written.** The brief's `investor_to_agent` is the `direction` column of the `messages` table in both `/opt/startup/{dev,prod}/data/messages.db`: `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod**; `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, `OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)`**, **80 / 80 / 0 open**, last reply dev **144** / prod **109**; `grep '^## ' INBOX.md | grep -v HANDLED` → **0 lines** (the two entries the brief quotes — the 2026-09-30 hiring directive and the 2026-10-05 version-correction message — are both struck through `~~HANDLED~~`). **`INBOX.md` untouched, no `agent_to_investor` row inserted in either DB, nothing marked read** — there was nothing to reply to, and an unanswered investor is a failed run, so this read is the run's first act. **Production is 0.4.28** — `./tools/version-check` → `OK: dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)`, **0.4.29 never quoted**; `./tools/budget-show` → **2026-10 5.00 / 0.00 / 5.00**, spend **0.00**, free `*-free` model only (`opencode/mimo-v2.6-flash-free`), no key configured, **no secret or PII in any prompt, file or commit**.
- **The queue read: every standing line is closed, blocked or owned elsewhere — this run took the one line run 870's close wrote out in full.** **(93)**/**(97)(a)** does not fire (0 unread; `hiring/queue/*.json` still waits on the investor, 2 proposed). **A12/A30** are other desks' `identity-run@{aylin,mia,sofia}.service` units clearing on their own **08:06–08:55 CEST** timers — **no `systemctl reset-failed`, no unit restarted**. **(av)(d)** stays blocked on the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**); **(i)** the 27.9 GB legacy `/tmp/gocache` cut is operator-only; the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row and §14's five open blocks are investor decisions; **(e)** stays closed; the **`[0.4.258]` citation watch** was **not re-verified** (nothing changed those four files). What remained was 870's exact instruction: *"for run 871, in `tests/test_system_status_go_compile.sh` section 12 add `GLADEX_REPO_DIR=\"$REPO\"` to both direct invocations — line 513 and line 534 — the same explicit pattern line 520 already uses … verification is `GLADEX_GCDV_FULL=1` → `F5 … notes>=1 -> ok` with `F1/F2/F3c/F4` green."* This run executed it verbatim and nothing else.
- **The defect, restated in one paragraph so the fix can be argued from it:** `tools/repo-lint`'s `default_repo()` returns `os.environ.get("GLADEX_REPO_DIR") or dirname(dirname(realpath(__file__)))` — **the working directory is never consulted**, so section 12's `( cd "$REPO" && ./tools/repo-lint … )` only linted `$REPO` when nobody had exported the variable. Section F exports `GLADEX_REPO_DIR=/data/repo`, the child guard suite inherits it, and the suite's own `$REPO` is its **clone**: the first read judged `/data/repo`'s HEAD while the `system-status` child (which already set the variable explicitly — line 520's pattern) judged the clone, so when `main` moved the pinned re-read asked `/data/repo` for a clone-only commit and fell with `error = cannot resolve revision '82e0475' in /data/repo`, `sha_resolved = None`, taking `live repo-lint: HEAD's committed module compiles` and `the row and the linter name the same commit` down with it — the payload 870's close caught verbatim. **The fix is exactly the two lines 870 named**, each now `( cd "$REPO" && GLADEX_REPO_DIR="$REPO" ./tools/repo-lint … )`, with a comment at the first one recording the mechanism so the next reader does not re-derive it; the ordering, the drift branch, the descendant test and the note are untouched, and with the variable unset the behaviour is byte-identical (env falls back to the script path, i.e. the same repo the `cd` names).
- **Two new static assertions (`G4`/`G5`, section 5b of `tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh`) are each other's negative control, so neither pin can be removed alone.** `G4` counts the guard's reads that pin the variable → **2**; `G5` counts the ones still linting an inherited value (fixed-string `( cd "$REPO" && ./tools/repo-lint`) → **0**. Revert either line and `G4` drops to 1 while `G5` rises to 1 — **both** go red; a *new* unpinned read trips `G5`, which a bare count in `G4` would absorb silently. Static on the purpose 870's `G0`–`G3` were: a run that merely finishes green cannot see an env pin that was never there, and `[0.4.282]`'s whole lesson was a hazard that passed three times out of four.
- **Verification, on my own bytes, before anything was staged.** `bash -n` clean on both edited scripts. `bash tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` → **105 passed / 0 failed / 1 skipped, exit 0** (103 → 105 = exactly `G4`/`G5`, section F still behind `FULL=1`). `bash tests/test_system_status_go_compile.sh` → **109 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped, 70 s** — unchanged, because two env pins add no assertion to that suite. **The gated path, the measurement 870 queued:** `GLADEX_GCDV_FULL=1 bash tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` → **112 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped, exit 0**, all seven section-F assertions green including **`F5 S2 is clean WITH >= 1 drift note -> ok (the drift branch fired for real)`** and `F3b S1 is clean with 0 drift notes -> ok` — each still the other's negative control — plus `F2` `2 selected, 2 met, 0 unmet, 0 unverified` and `F4` no scratch left behind. That is the shape 870 reported as **`S1 passed=106 failed=3 notes=1 -> red` / `S2 … failed=2 … -> red`, five times in a row**. Raw lines, from a second run of the tool under section F's own environment (`TMPDIR=/tmp/opencode/gcdv871 GLADEX_REPO_DIR=/data/repo ./tools/go-compile-drift-verify --only S1,S2`, **172 s, exit 0**): **`S1 passed=109 failed=0 notes=0 -> ok`**, **`S2 passed=109 failed=0 notes=1 -> ok`** with `(sandbox root: …/s2tmp …)` and `(HEAD moved at poll 627 -> ee8b85b)` — i.e. the drift fired for real and the pinned re-read resolved in the clone. `./tools/repo-lint` (pre-commit, i.e. HEAD blobs) → **rc 0, all 194 linted file(s) parse clean**, **288 headings / 288 unique / 9,002 citations / 0 missing** (289 expected once `[0.4.284]` lands). `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 0, `one queue: [0.4.283] pointer-only`** before the CHANGELOG append, and `./tools/system-status` after it → **`queue-source [FAIL] [0.4.284] is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** — the expected **R8** trip, cleared by this very entry naming `[0.4.284]`. `./tools/red-watch` → **`state=red, passed=22, failed=4`**: `A3`/`A15` (this run's dirty tree, expected pre-commit) and `A12`/`A30` (the other desks' failed units) — **no `systemctl reset-failed`, no unit restarted**. `./tools/system-status` → `git-tree [WARN] 3 uncommitted changes`, `go-tests [OK] passing (worktree)`, `go-compile [OK] 46 module file(s) … (commit 87b1dc4)`, `investor-duty [OK] owed=0 unread=0`, `promote-gates [OK] promote-ready … (commit 87b1dc4)`, `Overall: 2 CHECK(S) FAILED` (`queue-source` = this entry's R8 trip, `failed-units` = other desks).
- **Scope and safety, one line each:** git sees **four paths** — `tests/test_system_status_go_compile.sh` (the two env pins), `tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` (`G4`/`G5`), `CHANGELOG.md` (`[0.4.284]`) and this entry — staged **explicitly by path** (`git status --porcelain` read immediately before the add, `git diff --cached --name-only` after), **never `git add -A`**. **No `app/` file and no tool script edited** → **no reviewer gate, no promote**; dev and prod untouched, both **0.4.28**, first CHANGELOG heading still **0.4.28**, suite census **96** (no suite added, so `REGISTRY.md`'s `- Live:` figure does not move). **No `rm`/`rmdir`/`unlink`/`rename`/`chmod` anywhere** — this run removed only its own scratch (`/tmp/opencode/gcdv871*`, `/tmp/opencode/gcdv871-full.log`, `/tmp/opencode/regcov871.log`); the other desk's leftover **`/tmp/ssgc-test.U6CtLO` (mtime 2026-10-09 13:31) was not created by this run and was not touched**, and the `(av)(d)` prune stays blocked on the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**). **No unit restarted, no `systemctl reset-failed`, no crontab change, no DNS write, no mail sent, no paid API, no API key configured, spend 0.00.** One `git push origin main` follows the commit that carries this entry (the documented **A3** duty).
- **Close-state:** this entry is appended **before the commit that carries it** (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) and is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp` (rules 2–3); the stop-state check is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after it. **Paths this commit carries — the four above** — with the porcelain reading taken immediately before the add and `git diff --cached --name-only` immediately after; sibling desks commit in this shared worktree every few minutes, so both readings are measured, not carried.
- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **`[0.4.284]` and the two `GLADEX_REPO_DIR` pins are landed — do not re-pin, do not re-write `[0.4.284]`, and run 870's "the fix is queued" handover is closed (executed, not superseded).** The section-F red is **gone**: `GLADEX_GCDV_FULL=1 bash tests/test_go_compile_drift_verify.sh` → `112 / 0 / 0` and it costs **~155 s + 2 clones** — it is cheap enough now to run on any suite-touching change rather than only when someone asks, **and a red there still means "read the S2 log", never "delete F5"**; exit **1** stays unobservable in that suite by construction. The drift-verify line of work is **finished** — do not add assertions to `G0`–`G5` without a new measured defect behind them. Suite count stays **96** → the `- Live:` handover remains **"whoever lands the 97th suite owns the refresh"**. Then the standing lines, in order: **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (STEP 0 reads **0 unread / 0 owed**, 2 proposed: `marco-steiner`, `ruben-stoll`); the **failed-units reds (A12/A30)** are other desks' shifts clearing on their own **08:06–08:55 CEST** timers — **do not `systemctl reset-failed`**; **(av)(d)** after the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**); then **(i)** the operator's 27.9 GB legacy `/tmp/gocache` cut, the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row, `REPORT.md` §14's five open blocks, and the **`[0.4.258]` citation watch** (**not re-verified this run — do not re-verify until something changes those four files**). **(e)** stays closed: do not re-queue "quota-report (jobs 50/72)".
