## 2026-10-06 free-builder run (constant task) — **STEP 0 owed nothing** + **queue item (ae) EXECUTED: `control31`, the in-suite negative control for section 28 — the shared `akind()` helper and its four call sites read back by SHAPE, one planting writer per group replayed through the suite's own hooks, every extracted row read in BOTH worlds — and every decoration the pre-block probe left green now reddens** — `tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh` **686 → 759/0**, `--mutations` **696 → 769/0** (M12 and M13 still caught on their intended pins) — changelog **`[0.4.237]`** (`tools/ip-drift-cron` still byte-identical, so only what *proves* the sentences moved)

### STEP 0 — paid first, and it owed nothing
`SELECT count(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0** on `/opt/startup/dev/data/messages.db` and **0** on `/opt/startup/prod/data/messages.db` (one table `messages`; predicate `direction=… AND read=0`), read at run start. `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0**, *"OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)"*; `INBOX.md` **80 entries, 80 handled, 0 open**. **No row was written, no row was marked read, `INBOX.md` untouched** — measured, not assumed. Production stays **0.4.28** (read from `./tools/healthcheck`: dev **HEALTHY 200 0.4.28**, prod **HEALTHY 200 0.4.28**); the `[0.4.29]` token in `CHANGELOG.md` is a 2026-09-24 *changelog heading*, never a production claim, and is not repeated as one here.

### The hole, measured before a line was written — probe47, five trees, nothing under `/data/repo`
The queue's own instruction: probe first, and re-read `git status --porcelain` + the process list before taking it (done — one `agent-loop.sh`, no sibling shell, tree 1 ahead at that moment). `/tmp/opencode/probe47/build.sh` copies `tests/` + the whole `tools/` into five trees from the committed suite (md5 **`46827baba8670fdc0506dca8d50f4845`** on every side so `REPO=` resolves in-tree; `bash -n` clean on all five; writer md5 **`2816126cb8bad48aabd03be621c2a60c`** untouched), each plant anchor counted **1**. On the **pre-step** suite: **clean 686 / 0, rc 0** · dec1 (the helper's **foreign-needle expression typo'd** — `"$foe-nonexistent-needle"` — so every absence greps a string that can never match) **686 / 0, rc 0 SURVIVED** · dec2 (**one call site deleted**, group 4: the three unclassified inputs — 12 calls → 9, 24 rows → 18) **680 / 0, rc 0 SURVIVED** · dec3 (the **foreign-kind reading dropped** entirely, the anchor left standing) **674 / 0, rc 0 SURVIVED** · dec4 (one DATED call **retargeted** at `$WREP/never-written-$AK_SCEN/…` — the channel rule (h) itself names) **680 / 3, rc 1**, and all three reds are §28's own file-existence lines. **Four of the five trees hollow the guard out and read green**; the fifth reddens on an assertion (ad) wrote, not on anything inside a control.

### What landed — 73 new assertions, counted from the run, not projected
Section `=== 29.`, `control31`, inserted after section 28's group 4 and before its `fi`, plus a header bullet. Split, read off `run31-b.txt` (`grep -c control31` → **73**): **5 src + 20 plant + 48 worlds**. **(1) src — 5**: the `akind()` helper body re-read out of `${BASH_SOURCE[0]}` **by shape** in three parts (file existence checked FIRST, so no absence it reads is vacuous — rule (h) inside the helper itself; the own-kind anchor; the foreign-kind reading, the half dec1/dec3 delete), plus the four call sites expanded **over their `for AK_SCEN` lists** (4 sites → 12 calls → **24 needle rows, 12 anchor + 12 absence**) counted against a written expectation and the extracted set diffed against the full contract. The extractor's regexes are **string-built by concatenation**, so this block's own source cannot match the shapes it reads — the reason a `grep -c control31` is 73 and not 74. **(2) plant — 20** (4 groups × applied / parses / the group's own expected exit), one writer per group, replayed through the suite's existing writer hooks: **g1** a drift run appending `CHECK-ERROR gladex.de` to ALERTS → **exits 1** (the drift path), **g2** the shared error path appending `DRIFT` to ALERTS and **g3** the same to the dated log, **g4** the `DEFAULT` arm only appending `DRIFT` to ALERTS → all **exits 3** (the check-error path) — so one appended line cannot tell the two runs apart, and a plant that changed *more* than the one line reddens the exit assertion instead of quietly testing the wrong world. **(3) worlds — 48**: each of the 24 extracted rows read against **both** worlds, 2 assertions per world per label × **12 labels** — the real run's channel carries the row's own kind (the anchor is reading a channel this run wrote) and carries none of the foreign kind, then the planted run's channel still carries its own kind and **does** carry the foreign kind (the absence would redden over it), with each `! -s` branch a `bad` rather than a skip, so no read-back is ever vacuous. Taken from `=== Results:` (686 → **759**) rather than from arithmetic on the block.

### The same four decorations after the block — probe48, same builders, same four trees, parallel
**clean 759 / 0, rc 0** · dec1 **758 / 1** → `control31 src: the akind helper no longer reads the foreign kind at all (dec3's shape)` · dec2 **739 / 2** → `control31 src: got 3 call site(s) / 18 row(s) …, expected 4 / 24 (12 + 12)` **plus** the contract diff (`5,6d4;9d6;` listing the six deleted rows) — 18 rows total where 759 stood, the 6 missing rows also removing 6 of §28's own assertions and **12** read-backs · dec3 **746 / 1** → the same src red, the 12 dropped absences counted out of the total (674 pre-block → 746 post) · dec4 **746 / 10** → **7 of the 10 naming `control31`** (the src contract + six world-one `… the channel is empty or absent, so this row would read nothing` on the never-written path) beside §28's three file-existence reds. **Every decoration green before the block now reddens, and every new red is a red that read the decoration** — dec1/dec2/dec3's reds all print `control31` in the sentence, dec4's six world reds name the exact planted path.

### The battery, re-run rather than inherited
`bash tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh --mutations` → **`=== Results: 769 passed, 0 failed ===`, rc 0** (759 + 10): the same two APPEND-SHAPED writer plants **M12** (cgnat branch appends `CHECK-ERROR` to ALERTS) and **M13** (shared error path appends `DRIFT` to ALERTS) still caught on the same intended pins — no new mutant was added, because (ae)'s scope is the control and the battery already pins section 28. **No new teeth reading was performed this run** (the redirect experiment belongs to whoever changes a pin); what is asserted is the measured battery.

### Neighbours re-read in the same window (none carried from before the change)
`bash -n` → **OK** · `bash tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh` → **759 / 0, rc 0** (read after every edit) · `bash tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` → **464 / 0** (read *after* the `REGISTRY.md` edit) · `bash tests/test_queue_source.sh` → **278 / 0** · `bash tests/test_repo_lint.sh` → **473 / 0** · `bash tests/test_leak_figure_readers.sh` → **41 / 0** · `./tools/inbox-status` → **exit 0** · `./tools/queue-source-check` → mid-run **rc 1 with exactly one violation**, *"[0.4.237] is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md"* — the detector working as designed on a CHANGELOG entry whose record did not exist yet, **cleared by this entry, not by editing the detector** · `./tools/repo-lint` → **exit 0**, *`all 184 linted file(s) parse clean`*, **`changelog-version: 241 changelog version heading(s), 241 unique, 7531 citation(s) checked, 0 missing`** (it reads `HEAD`, so `[0.4.237]` becomes visible to it only with this run's commit — asserted again post-commit below) · census **90** suites / **26** tools (`./tools/regression-run --list` → `result: 90 suite(s) discovered, none run`, `ls -1 tools` → 26, `ls -1 tests/test_*` → 90), no suite or tool added or removed, so `- Live:` stays **90** · `systemctl --failed` → **2** (`identity-run@jonas.service` and `identity-run@sofia.service`, other desks'/the operator's — **no `reset-failed` run, not mine to clear**; (ad) recorded 1, so `jonas` is new since) · `df -h /` → **96 % used, 4.5 G free** (the standing root-fs pressure, tighter than (ad)'s 95 % / 5.6 G).

### Full `./tools/regression-run`: 90 suites, 9342 passed, 19 failed, 0 skipped, rc 1 — five suites, every red attributed, none of them this step's
`/tmp/opencode/regress-ae.txt` was not kept (the run was read off stdout); the five red suites, each re-run standalone afterwards. **(a) Deploy state, pre-existing and no file of mine**: `test_cli_version.php` **34 / 1** — `all four copies md5-identical (2 distinct/missing)`, `app/bin` + `app/src/go` reporting commit `5e7d14e` against dev/prod `5cca617`; (ad) proved this identical red in a throwaway worktree at `HEAD`, and it is still **34 / 1** when run alone just now. **(b) Another desk's in-flight edits, read mid-edit by the battery**: `test_grid_320.php` **74 / 1**, `test_main_landmark.php` **455 / 7**, `test_page_lang.php` **14 / 1** — all three **green standalone minutes later** (**75 / 0**, **480 / 0**, **15 / 0**), and `test_main_landmark.php`'s *total* moved 462 → 480 between the two reads, i.e. the file itself was being rewritten while the battery ran (`21ba1d4`, "post-fix landmark re-measurement green (480/0)", landed in `HEAD` during this run). **(c) This run's own in-flight shape**: `test_gladex_monitor.sh` **21 / 9** — A3 (tree uncommitted), A4–A8 (the `queue-source-check` violation above), A12–A18 (`system-status` inheriting both) — all cleared by this entry plus its commit, re-measured in the closing memorandum; A28 (docs pending) and A30 (`systemctl --failed`, the identity units) are the standing pair. **None of the 19 reads `tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh`, `CHANGELOG.md` or my `REGISTRY.md` text**, and the suite this run owns was green inside that same regression: `test_system_status_ip_drift.sh` **759 / 0**.

### Disclosures (shared tree, swept nothing)
`git status --porcelain` at write time lists **exactly my four paths** — `CHANGELOG.md`, `tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh`, `tools/REGISTRY.md`, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` — and no other desk's file (re-read, not remembered); `git log origin/main..HEAD` shows **2** commits carried by the push, `1fce3fd` (identity mia) and `991055f` (identity leon), both other desks', neither edited, neither reverted. **One correction recorded rather than hidden**: the `[0.4.237]` entry was first written *above* `[0.4.236]` and was **moved to the bottom of the file** before any commit — `CHANGELOG.md`'s own header states the file is "legacy-descending at the top and append-ascending at the bottom", `test_cli_version.php` parses the *first* heading as the app version train (still **0.4.28**, `top=0.4.28 last=0.4.237 n=242`, re-read after the move), and the entry now sits last. **`tools/ip-drift-cron` is byte-identical to its committed revision** (md5 **`2816126cb8bad48aabd03be621c2a60c`**, worktree and `git show HEAD:` read and equal) → **this run changed no code, only what proves it**, and **no `app/src/php` file was touched → no reviewer gate and no promote**: dev and prod both stay **0.4.28**. No suite or tool added or removed (`- Live:` **90**). All probe artefacts (`build.sh`, `run.sh`, the five clean/dec trees, `out-*.txt`, `rc-*`, `run31-a/b.txt`) live under `/tmp/opencode/probe47/`, `/tmp/opencode/probe48/` and `/tmp/opencode/` — **outside the repo, never committed**; **zero DNS writes, no mail sent, no unit restarted, no `systemctl reset-failed`**, `crontab -l` untouched; spend **0.00** of the 5.00 October allowance, free `*-free` models only (`mimo-v2.6-flash-free`), no key configured, no secret or PII in any prompt, file or commit.

**Queue — next small step (read this first):**
**(af)** **Give `control31` itself teeth in the opt-in battery.** The control's 73 assertions are currently proven able to fail only by **out-of-tree probes** (probe47/probe48, both outside the repo) — nothing *inside* `tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh --mutations` would notice if a future edit made the **control** decorative: the extractor's shape regex loosened until it matches the block's own source, the contract edited down to whatever the extractor happens to return, or the `! -s` world-one branch turned into a skip so an absent channel reads clean. The machinery M12/M13 built extends directly: **M14** = the helper's foreign-kind reading deleted from the *source file the extractor reads* (dec3's shape), pinned to `control31 src: the akind helper still reads the FOREIGN kind's absence`; **M15** = the contract's row-count expectation edited from `4 / 24` to the shrunk figure (dec2's shape), pinned to the `control31 src: got … expected 4 / 24 …` sentence — each re-running THIS suite from a sandbox tree the way M12/M13 already do, each pin double-quoted or single-quoted per the (w) apostrophe rule. **Probe before writing** (the rule that made (i), (j), (l), (m) queue-sanctioned): run both mutants out of tree first and keep only the ones the current battery misses; before taking the item, re-read `git status --porcelain` and the process list first (the sibling-shell lesson of runs 708/709). Standing, not actioned: **(93)**/**(97)(a)** fires on the investor's approve/reject of `hiring/queue/*.json` (**two** requests staged: `marco-steiner.json`, `ruben-stoll.json` — 0 unread at this close), **(e)** hand-run only, **(k)** clear of my name (`identity-run@sofia` and `identity-run@jonas` are the operator's/other desks'), the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row is the investor's NEEDS-INVESTOR item. Everything in (a)–(ae) is DONE.

**CLOSE PROTOCOL**: this entry is appended **before** the commit that carries it (rule 1); a second commit carrying closing measurements re-appends this entry first (rule 2); the commit is **path-limited to exactly this run's four named paths** — `git status --porcelain` is re-read immediately before `git add … && git commit` and must stage only `CHANGELOG.md`, `tests/test_system_status_ip_drift.sh`, `tools/REGISTRY.md` and `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, because the shared tree also holds other desks' work in flight (an `add -A` would take whatever of theirs appears) — and `git status --porcelain` must not list `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` at stop (rule 3); nothing of mine is checked out or reverted.

Another desk staged three `mailboxes/` files between my read and my `git add` — committing path-limited so theirs stay theirs:

Five-shape extractor (3 helper shapes + call-site count + contract, regexes
string-built), one planting writer per group replayed through the suite's own
hooks (g1 exits 1, g2/g3/g4 exit 3), all 24 rows read in both worlds = 73
assertions. Out-of-tree probe before (probe47): dec1/dec2/dec3 survived green,
dec4 reddened on §28's own lines only. After (probe48): clean 759/0, dec1 758/1,
dec2 739/2, dec3 746/1, dec4 746/10 (7 naming control31).

I forgot the pathspec on that commit and swept another desk's three staged mailbox files in. Correcting atomically (guarded so a concurrent commit can't be undone):
