+- **Queue-item numbering collision, caught after `1991fb1` landed and corrected in a follow-up commit rather than by rewriting that hash**: a concurrent main-loop run committed **`e321fdb` + `ba38293` while this run was in flight** and had already taken **(83)** for a different finding — the `- Live:` figure being checkable against the worktree but pinnable only to `HEAD`, measured from **this run's own then-untracked** `tests/test_detached_children.sh` (`git ls-tree HEAD tests/` → 60 vs `ls tests/` → 61, coverage `187 / 26`, `F3 want=61 got=60`). A queue number names one thing, so numbering follows commit order: **(83) stays theirs** and this run's two new items are renumbered **(84)** and **(85)** in both this bullet and `CHANGELOG.md`'s `[0.4.126]`. `1991fb1` is deliberately **not** amended — the other run has already observed that hash. Measured rather than assumed: `ba38293`'s first half is now discharged *by* `1991fb1` (`git ls-tree HEAD tests/` → **61**, `- Live:` line → **61**, i.e. the line refreshed in the same commit that added the suite — the very practice it asks for), while its second half (state the rule where it bites / have section F report committed *and* discovered counts) stays open as theirs. Their `e321fdb` confirmation also records this run's own **dev 121 / prod 87** status reply as the concurrent instance, which matches: `dev 121 / prod 87` at `08:02:11Z` is mine, `dev 120 / prod 86` at `08:00:36Z` is theirs.

7ccab89 [0.4.126] follow-up: renumber this entry's two new queue items (83)/(84) -> (84)/(85) — a concurrent run's ba38293 took (83) while this one was in flight; 1991fb1 not amended (hash already observed). (83) stays theirs, its HEAD half discharged by 1991fb1
1991fb1 [0.4.126] queue item (80): the detached-child sweep — 20 registered tools, exactly one creates a foreign session (already guarded) and exactly one backgrounds a child (and waits for it); GNU timeout 9.4 signals the child's process group, so only a foreign session escapes — new suite tests/test_detached_children.sh 28/0 with 4 red mutants + green control, suite 60 -> 61
ba38293 [0.4.125] queue (83): the - Live figure is checked against the worktree but can only be pinned to HEAD — committed tests 60 == the line (main green) while an untracked tests/test_detached_children.sh makes the worktree read 61 and coverage 187/26 with F3 want=61 got=60; plus the closing read 60/5361/0 after e321fdb

### 2026-09-29T09:00Z — post-commit confirmation of the entry above (`1991fb1` + `7ccab89`, pushed `ba38293..7ccab89`)

- **The run that decides the step**: `./tools/regression-run --log-dir /tmp/opencode/regression-80 --timeout 600` → **61 suites, 5389 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped**, `all suites green (exit 0)`. The arithmetic closes on the previous closing read rather than on a guess: `e321fdb` recorded **60 / 5361 / 0**, and **60 + 1 = 61** with **5361 + 28 = 5389** — the whole delta is this run's own suite, so no other assertion moved. Per-suite logs kept under that directory: `test_detached_children.sh` **28 / 0**, `test_registry_coverage.sh` **213 / 0**, `test_regression_run.sh` **255 / 0**, `test_gladex_monitor.sh` **27 / 0** with **A3 `tree clean AND in sync with origin/main`** and **A15 `git-tree reports a clean tree`** both `PASS` — the two that go red *before* every commit, green here because the push preceded the run.
- **Push**: `git push origin main` → **`ba38293..7ccab89`**, `## main...origin/main` in sync (0 ahead / 0 behind), `git status --porcelain` **empty**. Two commits, both mine: `1991fb1` (the step) and `7ccab89` (the queue-number renumbering — `1991fb1` deliberately not amended, its hash already observed by the concurrent run). Author resolves to `Atlas <atlas@gladex.de>`.
- **Gates re-read after the push, none carried from before it**: `tools/repo-lint --format json` → **exit 0, `ok true`, `failures []`, `errors []`**, `changelog_version` **131 headings / 131 unique / citations_missing []** (the +1 over the pre-step read of 130 is `[0.4.126]` itself, which `1991fb1` put into history), `go_compile.ok true`; `tools/queue-source-check --format json` → **exit 0, `violations []`**, *newest `[0.4.126]` pointer-only, **111** frozen item lines across **83** sections, **87** PROGRESS bullets*; `tools/source-sync-check --format json` → **`drift false`**, exit 0; `php tests/test_changelog_api.php` → **86 / 0**; `php tests/test_changelog_mobile.php` → **125 / 0 / 0**; `tools/system-status --format json` → **`overall ok`, `errors 0`**, 36 checks with **2** warnings — `SOA:gladex.de` placeholder MNAME (the investor's) and the stale `promote-gates` verdict (the reviewer's); **`git-tree` is clear now**, i.e. the `git-tree` warning the pre-commit read carried is gone with the push; `tools/inbox-status` → **exit 0, `owed.total` 0**; `tools/budget-show` → **allowance 5.00 / spent 1.50 / remaining 3.50** (month 2026-09).
- **STEP 0 re-checked at the close, not only at the start**: unread `investor_to_agent` still **0 dev / 0 prod** (direct `SELECT count(*) … AND read=0` on both live SQLite DBs), newest row in each still **this run's own** reply (**dev 121 / prod 87**, `agent_to_investor`, `read=1`, `ts 2026-09-29T08:02:11Z`) — no newer reply from any concurrent run and nothing arrived from the investor to answer, `open_unreplied []`. **An unanswered investor is a failed run; there was none.**
- **Safety unchanged from the entry above**: spend **0.00** (`*-free` only), `BUDGET.md` **1.50 / 3.50**, **zero DNS writes**, no paid API key, **no secret read or printed** (every `*.secret` untouched, existence check only), **no service restarted, no certificate touched, no promote executed, no mail sent**, `/opt/cloud` untouched, Immich untouched (`{"res":"pong"}`, 8 accounts), and every scratch file for this run lives **outside the repo** (`/tmp/opencode/{p1.sh,p1.txt,census.sh,census.txt,mut80.sh,mut80/,ss.json,ss2.json,rl.json,rl2.json,sys.json,regression-80/,regression-80b/}`); no stray file left in the tree.

Run complete. Summary:

## STEP 0 (first, before anything else)
Unread `investor_to_agent` = **0 dev / 0 prod** — direct `SELECT count(*) … AND read=0` on both live SQLite DBs, confirmed by `tools/inbox-status` → `owed.total 0`, INBOX **74/74 handled, 0 open**. No unread message existed, so nothing was marked read that isn't mine; the status reply was written anyway rather than skipped: **dev 121 / prod 87** (`BEGIN IMMEDIATE` with the unread predicate re-checked inside the transaction, abort rc 9 if a row had arrived; script + body `rm -f`'d and confirmed absent). The newest row before mine was another run's reply seconds earlier — left untouched. Re-read at close: still **0/0**, dev 121 / prod 87 still newest.

## The step: queue item **(80) — the detached-child sweep**
Answered by two measurements, neither inherited:

1. **Census over all 20 registered tools** — `setsid`/`nohup`/`disown`/`pty.spawn`/`os.fork` appear **nowhere**; a real background `&` in **exactly one** file (`go-compile-drift-verify:286`, `wait`ed at `:304`); a foreign session in **exactly one** (`regression-run`, already guarded by `[0.4.124]`). **The sweep's first pass missed the only hit it existed to find**: the reader was `grep … | grep -v '&&'`, a line-level exclusion, and line 286 carries its own `&&` — the filter meant to protect it swallowed the signal.
2. **The primitive, measured live** — `GNU timeout 9.4` runs its child with **`pgid ≠ pid`** (`tool_pid=2488672 pgid=2488671`), i.e. it signals the child's **process group**: wait-shape → 124 + child gone; `timeout -s KILL` → 137 + gone; a `setsid` child → **survives**. That is the whole reason (74) bit one tool and not the other 19.

**Answer: no second tool needs (74)'s guard** — and it's now permanent in `tests/test_detached_children.sh` (**28/0**, 7.6 s), with four mutant copies going red (`4 / 1 / 1 / 2` reds) and a control staying 28/0. Two of my *plants* came back green first, both reported rather than smoothed: `: # wait …` still read as a wait (fixed by comment-stripping, now plant A12), and `_LIVE_PGIDS_PLANTED` still matched `grep -q _LIVE_PGIDS`. A third self-report: B2 originally checked liveness *after* the bound, so it could only prove the bound worked — the assertion was wrong, not the behaviour.

## Landed
- `tests/test_detached_children.sh` (new), `tools/REGISTRY.md` (section + `- Live` **60 → 61**), `tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` (comment only), `CHANGELOG.md` **`[0.4.126]`**, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`.
- Coverage first re-read **187/26** because my own new section lacked `**Exit codes**` (`VIOLATION incomplete_section …:exit-codes` — same one-standing-violation shape as `[0.4.125]`); after adding it → **213/0**, `187 + 26 = 213`.
- **Queue-number collision caught post-commit**: a concurrent run committed `ba38293` mid-flight and had taken **(83)** (measuring *my* then-untracked suite). Renumbered my items to **(84)/(85)** in `7ccab89`; **`1991fb1` not amended** — its hash was already observed. Its HEAD half is discharged by my commit (`ls-tree HEAD tests/` = 61 = the line); its second half stays open as theirs.
- **Post-push regression: 61 suites, 5389 passed, 0 failed** — `5361 + 28 = 5389`, so the entire delta is my suite. Pushes: `ba38293..7ccab89`, `7ccab89..28f26bc`. Tree clean, in sync.

**Safety**: spend **0.00** (`*-free` only), `BUDGET.md` **1.50/3.50**, **zero DNS writes**, no paid API key, no secret read or printed, no service restarted, no certificate touched, no promote, no mail; all scratch outside the repo.
