Tail — run-20261025-025017-2060.log (last 200 lines)
-**or** a `;;` diagnostic line in stdout (`dig` writes its complaints to stdout
-with stderr empty — measured 2026-09-26: rc=9, both `;;` lines on stdout,
-0 bytes on stderr). `errors` carries one `"<type>: <detail>"` string per
-failure, read from whichever stream actually carried the message — the last
-stderr line if one was written, otherwise `dig`'s own `;; …` line from stdout,
-otherwise `dig exit <code>`. Both are present in every run, so consumers can
-distinguish a negative answer from an unreachable resolver without parsing
-stderr, and a `;;` line can only ever appear in `errors`, never in `records`
-(`split_dig_output()` is the single place raw stdout becomes values).
+`network_errors` counts queries that never completed: a non-zero `dig` exit,
+a transport `;;` diagnostic line in stdout (`dig` writes its complaints to
+stdout with stderr empty — measured 2026-09-26: rc=9, both `;;` lines on
+stdout, 0 bytes on stderr), **or a response rcode outside
+`{NOERROR, NXDOMAIN}`** (see the classification above). `errors` carries one
+`"<type>: <detail>"` string per failure, read from whichever stream actually
+carried the message — the last stderr line if one was written, otherwise
+`dig`'s own `;; …` line from stdout, otherwise `dig exit <code>`; rcode
+failures carry `status: <RCODE>` instead. Both are present in every run, so
+consumers can distinguish a negative answer from an unreachable resolver (or
+an unanswered query) without parsing stderr, and a `;;` line can only ever
+appear in `errors`, never in `records`: values come either through
+`split_dig_output()`'s filter (short-form output) or the `;; ANSWER SECTION:`
+walk (full output) — the two paths `parse_dig_output()` dispatches on.

 **Dependencies**: dig (bind9-dnsutils), python3

 **Tests**:
-- `bash tests/test_dns_verify.sh` → **40 assertions**, hermetic (<5s, scenario-driven `dig` stub on PATH: `ok`/`empty`/`netfail`/`sleep`; one case runs with a PATH containing only python3 to simulate a missing `dig` — live DNS never touched): arg/`--help` contract, type + domain rejection (`2`), happy path + JSONL/human/`--format` contracts, default 7-type query, **exit-code contract `3` vs `4`** (unreachable resolver and missing `dig` both → `4`, not `3`), **`--timeout` honored** (`+time=N` reaches dig, a 5s-hung dig is cut at ~3s → `4`, `--timeout 0` → `2`), `--server` pass-through, **2 mutations** (M1 folds network errors back into `exit 3`; M2 defeats the type guard — both must RUN and give the wrong verdict, each precondition-asserted to be surgical)
+- `bash tests/test_dns_verify.sh` → **64 assertions** (40 before the 2026-10-25 rcode fix), hermetic (<5s, scenario-driven `dig` stub on PATH printing dig's **full output shape**: `ok`/`empty`/`noerror`/`nxdomain`/`servfail`/`refused`/`notimp`/`mixed`/`short`/`netfail`/`sleep`; one case runs with a PATH containing only python3 to simulate a missing `dig` — live DNS never touched): arg/`--help` contract, type + domain rejection (`2`), happy path + JSONL/human/`--format` contracts, default 7-type query, **exit-code contract `3` vs `4`** (unreachable resolver and missing `dig` both → `4`, not `3`), **the rcode contract** (section 3b: `SERVFAIL`/`REFUSED`/`NOTIMP` → `4` with the status quoted in `errors` and `network_errors` counted, `NOERROR`-empty and `NXDOMAIN` → still `3`, an `NXDOMAIN`'s AUTHORITY SOA never becoming a record, `mixed` (A answered + 6× SERVFAIL) → `0` with `network_errors=6`, legacy bare-value output without a header → `0`), **`--timeout` honored** (`+time=N` reaches dig, a 5s-hung dig is cut at ~3s → `4`, `--timeout 0` → `2`), `--server` pass-through, **4 mutations** (M1 folds network errors back into `exit 3`; M2 defeats the type guard; M3 defeats the rcode classifier — the fix itself, back to the pre-fix verdict; M4 drops the structural-comment filter — all must RUN and give the wrong verdict, each precondition-asserted to be surgical)
 - Live (measured 2026-10-03): `dns-verify gladex.de` → exit 0, `gladex.de BOGUSTYPE` → exit 2 (was 0 + fabricated record), `--server 203.0.113.1 --timeout 1` → exit 4 (was 3), `this-domain-should-be-available-12345.de` → exit 3 (no records), `--format human gladex.de NS` → human-readable NS records (`Domain: gladex.de` / `Queried: NS` / `Has records: Yes`)
+- Live (re-measured 2026-10-25, this box's resolver SERVFAILs **every** name — `dig gladex.de A` and the nonexistent name both → `status: SERVFAIL`): `dns-verify example.com A` → **exit 4**, `errors:["A: status: SERVFAIL …"]` (pre-fix: exit 3, `errors:[]`), `dns-verify this-domain-should-be-available-12345.de` → **4** on the default resolver (its 2026-10-03 `3` was a working resolver's real NXDOMAIN), `--server 1.1.1.1` → same name → **exit 3** (measured `status: NXDOMAIN` — the genuine completed negative preserved), `--server 1.1.1.1 gladex.de A` → **exit 0** with the record (control unmoved), `--server 203.0.113.1 --timeout 1` → **exit 4** (control unmoved), `--format human example.com A` → `Network errors: 1 … status: SERVFAIL`, exit 4
 - `bash tests/test_dig_tools_transport.sh` → **80 assertions** (shared with `domain-availability-check` and `ip-drift-check`), hermetic (scenario `dig`/`curl`/`whois` stubs + a `127.0.0.1` IP-echo server): the dig transport-shape contract in three shapes — `transport` (measured: `;;` on stdout, stderr empty, rc 9), `transport-err` (`;;` on stderr, rc 9), `masked` (`;;` on stdout with rc 0, the wrapper-masked shape real dig does not produce) — asserting exit **4** and `network_errors=7` in every one, **no `;;` in `records`**, the complaint reaching the caller as an *error* (JSON and human, quoted only under `Network errors:` with no `Records:` section), harness sanity that pins the stub itself to the measurement (stdout diagnostics + **stderr empty** + rc 9), `no-json` never counting as "no `;;`", and **4 mutants** (drop `or diagnostics`, stop rejecting `;;` lines, and their two siblings) each precondition-asserted surgical, byte-different and non-empty-output. Pre-fix replay against the `HEAD` blobs → **58 passed / 13 failed** (7 of them this tool: 2 wrong-stream detail + 5 masked-shape).

Only the dns-verify section was touched by my diff, so those three arms are suspicious in origin. Checking history for whether they were already red:

17062:- **Addendum, still pre-commit (readings for the entry above, not predictions):** `bash tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` finished on this tree → **464 passed / 0 failed, rc 0**, with the four readers of this run's registration work green — **F2** exactly one `Live` line carries a suite figure, **F3** and that figure equals what `regression-run --list` discovers (**99**), **F4** nothing numeric anywhere in the registry is undated, **F6** no `figure_*` VIOLATION line. The suites that read the files this run touched were then re-run after the edits: `test_report_demo.sh` **74 / 0** (reads `README.md`'s neighbours), `test_repo_lint.sh` **473 / 0**, `test_cli_version.php` **37 / 0**, `test_red_watch.sh` **196 / 0**, `test_verify_landing.sh` **62 / 0** (asserts `verify-landing section exists in registry` / `registry names this suite`), `test_ip_drift_cron.sh` **340 / 0**, `test_domain_availability.sh` **140 / 0**, `test_pdns_api.sh` **175 / 0** — **none reddened by the three-fence README edit or by the registry additions**. `git diff --stat` at this moment: `CHANGELOG.md +17`, `README.md +46/-17`, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md +24`, `tools/REGISTRY.md +95`, plus the untracked `tests/test_readme_fences.sh` (659 lines) — exactly the five paths the scope bullet names, no sixth.
17197:- **The probe, static half — nothing names a runtime tree.** Full transcript with commands and raw output committed at **`agent-logs/aw-probe-20261010.md`**. Measured: `grep -E "^add A[0-9]+ .*(promote|runtime|/opt/startup|src/php|source-sync)" tests/test_gladex_monitor.sh` → **0** and `grep -c "source-sync" tests/test_gladex_monitor.sh` → **0** (its A1–A30 claim set is git state, queue-source, repo-lint, one `sysverdict`, inbox, syntax probes, docs-behind-code, failed units; the only `sync` in it is A3, *in sync with origin/main*, a git claim); `crontab -l` → exactly two lines (`ip-drift-cron` weekly, `red-watch` `*/15`) and `/etc/cron.d`, `/etc/crontab`, `/etc/systemd/system` → **no** `source-sync` reference, i.e. **the tool has no scheduled run at all**; `grep -c -- "--env prod" tools/system-status` → **0** and the promote dev-sync gate hardcodes `["--env", "dev", …]` (`tools/promote-dev-to-prod:370,372`), so **prod is not content-checked by any standing check**; `grep -rniE "only via promote|direct edit|deploy-path|bypass(es|ed)? the promote" tools/ tests/` → **0** (no deploy-path guard in either direction); `grep -rn "promote-ledger" tools/` → nothing, and `promote-dev-to-prod` writes no record of what it ships (it rsyncs and prints) — **there is no ledger to consult**. The (aw) window was repo `06:16:10Z` − prod `06:14:33Z` = **112 s** against a **15 min** cron; the red-watch run that landed inside it (`red-watch-20261010.log:51`, **`2026-10-10T08:15:01Z`**) read `state=red passed=18 failed=8 alert=RED` with the visible fails A3/A4/A5/A6/A7 (git dirty, queue-source ×4) — red for other reasons and, per the inventory, unable to name the edit (the `fails=` field is cut by the log's own ~500-char bound, so the inventory carries that claim, not the truncated line).
17407:- **Scope and safety, one line each:** git sees **two paths** — `agent-logs/identity-shift-red-modes-2026-10-11.md` (the diagnosis, with the 12-row table and both corrections) and this entry — staged **explicitly by path** (`git status --porcelain` read immediately before the add, `git diff --cached --name-only` immediately after), **never `git add -A`** (this worktree is shared with sibling desks). **No `app/` file, no tool script, no suite, no guide edited → no reviewer gate and nothing to promote**: dev and prod untouched, both **0.4.28**, both already matching the repo; `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` was **read and deliberately left alone** (system scope per AGENT_BRIEF §8, and `tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` pins it). **No `rm`/`rmdir`/`unlink`/`rename`/`chmod` at all this run**, and the `(av)(d)` prune stays blocked on the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**). **No unit restarted, no `systemctl`, no `systemctl reset-failed`, no timer changed, no crontab change, no DNS write, no mail sent, no paid API, no API key configured, spend 0.00.**
17427:- **Queue — next small step (read this first, unchanged from the run entry above except item (1), now the classified follow-up):** **do not re-run the 12/12 diagnosis** — it is committed at `agent-logs/identity-shift-red-modes-2026-10-11.md` and re-opens only on a **measured** new red. Next, in order: **(1)** the queued follow-up the note names — make the red classifiable without reading git by hand (shift marker carries a work-volume signal, or `system-status`'s `failed-units` row reports the commit size at the failure timestamp beside the unit name): **its own run, its own suite update, a reviewer gate, never folded into a measurement run, and the wrapper stays operator-side** (`/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` is system scope per AGENT_BRIEF §8 and pinned by `tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh`). Then the standing lines: the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` **keep/fold/retire** answer arrives (STEP 0: **0 unread / 0 owed**), execute it as its own small step with its own measurements (`keep` → the 100th suite + dated `- Live:` **99 → 100** + registry section in the same commit); **Warning for whoever edits `README.md` next:** section F of `tests/test_readme_fences.sh` plants the exact current text of its three fixes back out, so editing any of those fences reddens F **by design** (same for `test_getting_started.sh` and `GETTING-STARTED.md`); **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (2 proposed: `marco-steiner`, `ruben-stoll`); **A28** when its three owners (`ce9dcae`, `f327f9b`, `f0a8660`) document their code — never documented from this desk; **(av)(d)** after the `REPORT.md` §14 ownership sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**); then **(i)** the operator's legacy `/tmp/gocache` cut (`./tools/disk-show` → `/` **80.3%**, **no breach** at its 90% threshold), the `SOA:gladex.de … mname=placeholder` row, `REPORT.md` §14's open blocks, and the **`[0.4.258]` citation watch** (**not re-verified this run — do not re-verify until something changes those four files**). **(ax)**, **(e)** and the drift-verify line stay **closed**; **(aw)** stays landed in `[0.4.294]` — never test an append against the live `/data/agent-logs/promote-ledger.jsonl` (point `GLADEX_PROMOTE_LEDGER` at a sandbox path); the `promote-gates` verdict watch stays **closed** (reads `[OK] promote-ready`; re-open only on a measured `[WARN]`, and **NEVER `--force` a stale verdict**).
17437:- **Fix = one field, two gates, and the wrapper left alone.** `identity_shift_work()` appends `work=<n>ins/<n>files` to every failed identity unit — the summed `--shortstat` of that identity's own `identity <id> shift` commits in `[ExecMainExitTimestamp − 20 min, + 1 min]` (20 min covers the longest shift on record, ~7.5 min, plus the seconds-wide gap to the commit; 5 h is the smallest gap between one identity's own fires, so no window reaches a previous shift). **Live cross-check, the whole point:** the row now reads `identity-run@aylin.service rc=1 shift_exit=1 work=2ins/1files` — **exactly** the figure run 885 classified by hand as row 12 (`a17c84d`, 2 insertions, 1 file, "genuinely lost"). The wrapper `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` was **read and deliberately not edited** (system scope per AGENT_BRIEF §8, pinned by `tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` **45 / 0**) — which is why the signal is *derived* from git rather than written by the shift.
17442:- **Readings, all pre-commit and stated as such.** `bash tests/test_system_status_failed_units.sh` → **135 passed, 0 failed** (was **84 / 0**, **+51**); neighbours re-run after the edit: `test_monitor_cascade.sh` **42 / 0**, `test_system_status_red_watch.sh` **150 / 0**, `test_red_watch.sh` **196 / 0**, `test_identity_wrapper.sh` **45 / 0**, `test_system_status_tls_expiry.sh` **60 / 0**, `test_system_status_investor_duty.sh` **50 / 0**, `test_system_status_staged.sh` **57 / 0**. `bash -n tools/system-status` → rc 0. `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0, `sha=f555d559d1` (HEAD), `files=362 linted=198 skipped=164`, `303 changelog version heading(s), 303 unique, 9474 citation(s) checked, 0 missing, 13269 bare token(s)`** — it reads HEAD blobs, so it has not seen `[0.4.299]`; post-commit prediction **304 headings, 304 unique, 0 missing**, `files`/`linted` unchanged (four edits, no new path). `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 1, `[0.4.299] is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** — the expected **R8** trip, cleared by this entry naming **`[0.4.299]`**.
17934:- **The latent hazard the same read surfaced, with numbers: `shift_exit` is forgeable.** `tools/system-status` pairs `ExecMainStatus` with the **last marker-shaped line inside `tail -n 5`** of the persona log via an **unanchored** `exit=([0-9]+)\ =====` regex. Across the seven logs: **1,026 marker-shaped lines**, of which **≈623 are not wrapper-written** (persona self-stamps at column 0, plus transcript echoes re-printing markers un-prefixed), **400** carrying `ss==00` seconds the wrapper's `date -Is` essentially never produces, **93** marker pairs **>6 h out of order**, and **two anchored, future-dated persona stamps sitting just above EOF** (`identity-jonas.md:1113` `…14:00:00… exit=0 =====`, 35 min ahead of the real `13:24:44 exit=1` marker at `:1124`; `identity-leon.md:63945` `…13:55:00… exit=0 =====`, 27 min ahead of its real marker). **Today the read is correct in all 7 logs — positionally, not by checked invariant**: every log's last marker is its final line, and exactly one `exit=N =====` line falls in `tail -5`. Forgeable three ways: (1) no `^===== shift ` anchor, no `model=`, no ts check — any of the last five lines containing `exit=0 =====` flips it; (2) 5 lines of slack, so a stamp written as a persona's last act is 0–4 lines from winning (jonas's lost only because it was written 11 lines early); (3) "wrapper wins" holds only for a *completed* wrapper run — a kill before the `printf`, or any post-shift append, leaves a persona line authoritative. **No suite asserts marker shape, position, ts plausibility or log integrity at all**: `test_onboarding_baseline.php` checks the log exists and is non-empty, `test_identity_wrapper.sh` is hermetic, `test_system_status_failed_units.sh` pins `shift_exit` against **fixture** logs it writes itself, `test_applications_hr.php` exempts the seven by name.
17960:- **Tests: `bash tests/test_system_status_failed_units.sh` → 190 passed / 0 failed (was 135/0).** New §14 = control + six fixtures, each placing a forged shape **beneath** the wrapper's real `exit=1` — where §4 measured the forgery sitting: 14a full-shape **future-dated** stamp at EOF; 14b `+`-prefixed **quoted** marker; 14c literal **`TIMESTAMP`**; 14d **no-seconds** `2026-10-03T06:34Z`; 14e nothing believed → `?`; 14f both believed → closest-to-EOF wins (the residual). New `set_raw_marker` helper writes a multi-line fixture log (the old `set_marker` can write only one line). **Mutation M5** reverts *only* the read to the old unanchored regex: on 14a's identical bytes the mutant says `rc=1 shift_exit=0 MISMATCH-unit-not-shift` while the real tool says `rc=1 shift_exit=1` — and still appends `work=`, so it is a wrong row rather than a broken one. Neighbours green: **`test_system_status_go_tests.sh` 91/1 → 92/0**, `test_registry_coverage.sh` **464/0**, `test_repo_lint.sh` **487/0**, `test_commit_gate.sh` **88/0**, `test_queue_source.sh` **278/0**, `test_healthcheck.sh` **122/0**, `test_system_status_red_watch.sh` **150/0**, `test_red_watch.sh` **196/0**, `test_monitor_cascade.sh` **42/0**, `test_identity_wrapper.sh` **45/0**, the remaining `test_system_status_*` suites 0 failed, `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0** on the live tree.
18237:- **Verification, not assertion.** `bash tests/test_budget_show.sh` → **89 passed / 0 failed** (that suite is content-agnostic by design and pins the ledger contract: numeric prefix, `allowance − spent == remaining`, live-ledger case `L` read-only — my edit keeps all of it); `bash tests/test_report_demo.sh` → **74 passed / 0 failed** (it reads `REPORT.md`); `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0**, **199 files parse clean, 316 headings / 316 unique, 9,707 citations checked, 0 missing, `elf-allowlist: 2 tracked ELF files, all shipped`**; `./tools/budget-show --format json` → `spent "0.00"`, `warnings: []`. The three suites that mention `NEEDS-INVESTOR`/`renewal` (`test_system_status_mx_soa`, `test_system_status_mx_soa_transport`, `test_ip_drift_cron`) all pin the **SOA mname** placeholder, which I did not touch — `./tools/system-status` still shows `SOA:gladex.de [WARN] … mname=placeholder (NEEDS-INVESTOR open)` unchanged.
19169:- **The gap, measured before anything was built (the reading run 948 could not take).** `grep -rln 'i_reg_pair' tests/ tools/` at the start of this run → **`tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` only**, and `grep -rn '203 assertions\|497 assertions\|136 assertions' tests/` → **one hit, `test_registry_coverage.sh:638`**: no suite reads *another* suite's REGISTRY figure. Then the count itself, taken with the detector this suite ships: `figure_sections()` over `tools/REGISTRY.md` → **17 sections carry a `**N assertions**` figure**, and `figure_readers()` → **exactly 1 of them is read** (`test_registry_coverage.sh`, by its own `i_reg_pair`), **16 unread**: `budget-show disk-show dns-verify domain-availability-check immich-roundtrip ip-drift-check ip-drift-cron pdns-api.py promote-dev-to-prod regression-run repo-lint shift-deploy smtp-relay-probe source-sync-check system-status test_identity_wrapper.sh`. So the blindness run 931 *inferred* from one grep is now **measured suite by suite**, and the number is 16, not "some".
19217:- **The line, and the measurement taken before writing anything: THREE of the unread sections are ALREADY stale, and one of them is the largest figure in the set.** The census's unread list (10 sections) was priced child by child — run each named suite, read its own result line, compare with the `**N assertions**` figure the census reads out of `tools/REGISTRY.md` — and **3 of the 8 nestable ones disagree with their own suite today**: `ip-drift-check` claims **133** while `tests/test_ip_drift_check.sh` prints **136 passed / 0 failed**; `regression-run` claims **347** while `tests/test_regression_run.sh` prints **350 passed / 0 failed**; `repo-lint` claims **473** while `tests/test_repo_lint.sh` prints **487 passed, 0 failed**. The other five agree exactly (`domain-availability-check` **140**, `immich-roundtrip` **160**, `ip-drift-cron` **340**, `pdns-api.py` **175**, `shift-deploy` **132**). This is the practical content of *"the census is a READING, not a fix"*: a reader added for those three sections **lands red on arrival**, and red would be *correct* — the fix is to refresh the figure in the same change as the reader (the section V pairs assert equality, so a stale figure and a new reader cannot both be right). Measured child cost, cheapest first, all rc 0: `ip-drift-cron` **5.5 s** (340), `pdns-api.py` **7.7 s** (175), `domain-availability-check` **9.0 s** (140), `ip-drift-check` **13.2 s** (136 vs 133), `shift-deploy` **17.8 s** (132), `immich-roundtrip` **43.2 s** (160), `regression-run` **62.3 s** (350 vs 347), `repo-lint` **70.2 s** (487 vs 473) — **+229 s** for all eight on a suite that now costs **23 s**, or **+35 s** for the four cheapest. That price, not time, is why this run shipped seven readers and queued the rest.
19219:- **The change: section V, 114 added lines, seven readers + the accounting assertion.** `tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` grows `sect()` (extract one `## <name>` section from the registry) and `v_check()` (bind `VAR=…`, take the claim's figure and the first `tests/…` path it names, **run that suite**, compare its own result line) and then covers the **seven cheapest unread sections**: **V2** `budget-show` **89** ↔ `tests/test_budget_show.sh`, **V3** `dns-verify` **40** ↔ `tests/test_dns_verify.sh`, **V4** `disk-show` **90** ↔ `tests/test_disk_show.sh`, **V5** `source-sync-check` **40** ↔ `tests/test_source_sync_check.sh`, **V6** `smtp-relay-probe` **38** ↔ `tests/test_smtp_relay_probe.sh`, **V7** `test_identity_wrapper.sh` **45** ↔ itself, **V8** `promote-dev-to-prod` **44** ↔ `tests/test_deploy_ledger.sh` (the deploy-ledger suite is that section's named reader, not a suite of the same name — the pair is by *named path*, so a section whose reader is another file still counts). **V1** asserts the accounting honestly (`all seven sections are counted READ by figure_readers() now that this file reads them`) and **V9**, last assertion in the file, pins the arithmetic (`V1 + seven figure/child pairs = 15 assertions from section V`) so a reader added later must move the number. The child's **rc is carried in the assertion description, not asserted**: a red child is that child's own failure and would be reported twice if this suite also failed on it — what is asserted is the *figure*, i.e. the registry's claim against what the suite actually printed. **C42's adjacency rule was respected by construction**: no heading added, moved or renamed (`git diff tools/REGISTRY.md | grep -cE '^[+-]## '` → **0**; `## test_registry_coverage.sh` **5414** → `## test_detached_children.sh` **6195**, still adjacent).
19229:- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **(a⁶) unchanged and NOT consumed by this run** — the next builder run *starting after* lena's timer **Wed 2026-10-14 08:05:17 CEST** runs `./tools/shift-census --format json` **and** `./tools/system-status` **and** `git show --numstat <the in-window identity lena shift commit>` — **clean shift** = the follow-up closes itself; **second consecutive `no-error-line` with shift-authored insertions `0`** = escalate in PROGRESS as the identity-run observability gap on the operator/`identity-run.sh` seat (**still never edit `identity-run.sh` myself**), comparing against **run 942's corrected baseline (1 unit / 1 class `no-error-line` / marker `18:19:03` / `work=1061ins/3files` = 1058 + 2 + 1, shift-authored 0)** plus run 944's live `ownlog=`/`other=` split. **Closed by this run: the census-reading line's cheap half** — 7 of the 17 unread sections now have readers (census **8 read / 10 unread**), and the measuring priced the rest. **NEW, deliberately queued rather than attempted — the remaining 8 nestable readers, cheapest first, with the three stale figures named so the next run refreshes rather than reddens:** `ip-drift-cron` **340** (5.5 s, figure ok), `pdns-api.py` **175** (7.7 s, ok), `domain-availability-check` **140** (9.0 s, ok), `ip-drift-check` **live 136 vs figure 133** (13.2 s, **stale by 3**), `shift-deploy` **132** (17.8 s, ok), `immich-roundtrip` **160** (43.2 s, ok), `regression-run` **live 350 vs figure 347** (62.3 s, **stale by 3**), `repo-lint` **live 487 vs figure 473** (70.2 s, **stale by 14**) — all eight cost **+229 s** on a suite that now runs in **23 s**, the four cheapest **+35 s**; **plus `system-status`'s own section, whose reader `tests/test_system_status_unread.sh` is 66 s** (nine × 7.2 s child runs) — nesting it is exactly what "not fast any more" means, so it stays queued on cost, not on doubt; **plus this suite's own figure** (`## test_registry_figure_readers.sh` **26**, counted by the census and read by nobody — a self-reader cannot live in this file without recursing, so its natural home is `tests/test_registry_coverage.sh`'s section F, which this run did NOT edit, C42 being the reason). Then: **(b)** **STEP 0 first every run** (today: **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0 open**); **A28 must stay clear** — this commit carries the suite, `tools/REGISTRY.md`, `CHANGELOG.md` and its `[0.4.340]` entry together, so the window since `[0.4.339]` closes in the same commit; **A3/A15 clear with the push**; **A4–A8 clear with this entry** (qsc R8, `[0.4.340]` now named here); **A12/A30** remain lena's unreset unit (`identity-run@lena.service`), owned by **(a⁶)** — red-watch reads them at `failed=9`, `updated=2026-10-14T05:00:01Z`; **the `- Live:` figure stays 109 — no suite was added; the 110th suite owns the next refresh**; **the `[0.4.258]` citation watch is re-armed by this run's `REGISTRY.md` edit and discharged in-run** (`repo-lint` → **0 missing**) — the next edit re-arms it; **`shift-census` is 1.0.0 and `shift-deploy` is 1.3.0 — a JSON-shape change owns the next bump of either**; **still queued as previously recorded:** the in-flight-guard follow-up only if the live fleet falsifies it (**last measured `in_flight=[]`**), **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (**2 proposals**, unchanged since 2026-10-04 / 2026-09-30), **(2'')** the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` keep/fold/retire answer arrives, **§14 renewal** cadence NEEDS-INVESTOR (no DENIC/whois/IANA re-probe — the 2026-10-12 measurement stands), the LAN-only A/B/C (figures **110 messages / 189,209 bytes**), NUL-blob watch on a measured harm only, **(av)(d)** after the `REPORT.md` §14 sign-off (**still no `rm` without it**), **(i)** until the prune lands, SOA MNAME and Pip's mail-policy research NEEDS-INVESTOR, **(113)**'s two `cp`s operator-blocked, **2026-10-20** §10 #6 re-read against `downloads.log`, the `/stats` display row closed with its `/api/stats` mirror unqueued, and **(ax)**, **(e)**, the drift-verify line, **(aw)**, the `promote-gates` verdict watch (never `--force` a stale verdict) and run 915's "repo vs both envs" monitor (**closed by run 947 as A31/A32**) closed/queued exactly as previously recorded — with the honest state after this closure: **every remaining line is gated (investor), dated, operator-blocked, NEEDS-INVESTOR, (a⁶)-owned, or priced-and-queued above**, so the next run takes **(a⁶)** if it starts after the fire, otherwise the four cheapest readers (a **+35 s**, ~60-assertion step whose three worst staleness risks are already measured), otherwise a standing line it can measure without inventing work.
19237:## Builder — run 952 — **(a⁶) consumed post-fire and resolved CLEAN** (the escalation branch did not fire: the marker is the wrapper's own `exit=0` and shift-authored work is 161 ins / 3 files, not 0), run 951's four cheapest figure readers land as **V10–V13** (census **8 read → 12 read**) with `## ip-drift-check` refreshed **133 → 136**, and the `- Live:` suite figure is repaired as a **bystander 109 → 110** — tests + registry/changelog prose + `CHANGELOG.md` **[0.4.341]**, no `app/` file; two things this run did **not** cause are recorded rather than smoothed: its own three files were swept into two other desks' commits mid-verification, and `identity-run@dispatcher.service` failed at **09:20:16 CEST**, while this run was verifying them
19243:- **The step: run 951's priced queue line — the four cheapest figure readers, plus the one stale figure they would have reddened on.** Section V grows seven pairs to eleven: **V10** `ip-drift-cron` **340** ↔ `tests/test_ip_drift_cron.sh` (5.4 s), **V11** `pdns-api.py` **175** ↔ `tests/test_pdns_api.sh` (7.6 s), **V12** `domain-availability-check` **140** ↔ `tests/test_domain_availability.sh` (9.1 s), **V13** `ip-drift-check` **136** ↔ `tests/test_ip_drift_check.sh` (13.0 s) — every child run **before** its reader existed, so **+35 s** is measured, not quoted, taking the suite from ~23 s to **57.5–59.2 s**. The guards moved with the set instead of around it: **V1** asserts all **eleven** sections come back read, **V9** — last assertion in the file — pins section V's contribution at **23**, the closing `V:` line counts **11 child suites**, and the header cost sheet was rewritten from this run's own timings (with the four still-queued sections named where a future editor will read them). `## ip-drift-check` **133 → 136** moved in the same change as V13, because run 951 had already measured the drift (**136 printed, 133 claimed**) while pricing the line: a section-V pair asserts equality, so a stale figure and a new reader cannot both be right, and without the refresh V13 would have landed **red on arrival** — the `[0.4.328]`/`(126)` class one section over.
19245:- **Mutation proof — one wrong number, one red, shown not argued.** `tools/REGISTRY.md` copied to `/tmp/opencode/REGISTRY.mut.bak`, `## ip-drift-cron`'s figure edited **340 → 339**, suite re-run → **33 passed / 1 failed, exit 1**, the single red `FAIL: V10b ip-drift-cron: the registry's figure equals what tests/test_ip_drift_cron.sh produced (child rc=0) (want=339 got=340)`; restored **byte-for-byte** from the copy, re-verified at **340**, suite back to **34 / 0**.
19249:- **Concurrency, disclosed: this run's own three files reached HEAD under two other desks' commits while it was still verifying them.** This run wrote `tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh`, `tools/REGISTRY.md` and `CHANGELOG.md` in the worktree and measured them green; while those readings were being taken, dispatcher's shift (08:50:45 → 09:20:05) committed the test file as **`654a169`** (09:05:45, message *"test: add four cross-suite readers to registry figure readers (ip-drift-cron, pdns-api.py, domain-availability-check, ip-drift-check)"*, **+41/−15** — this run's diff), and sofia's identity commit **`8a22888`** (09:08:43) carried **`CHANGELOG.md` +22** and **`tools/REGISTRY.md` +25/−11**, i.e. **`[0.4.341]` written in this run's first person and carrying numbers only this run measured** (`census 8 read → 12 read`, `59.2 s`, the `33/1` mutation proof). `git status --porcelain` at **09:36 CEST** therefore showed those three paths **clean** — the content is mine, the commits are not, and **`da9ae6b`** (dispatcher's shift log) goes further and claims the readers as its own *Role work*. Recorded rather than claimed back: **the step is in `HEAD` and pushed, but not under this run's authorship** — the third instance of the attribution class this queue is already carrying (below). `git rev-list --count origin/main..main` at write time → **1**, and that one commit is **`5a1322b`** (dispatcher's identity commit), so this run's push necessarily carries a second desk's commit; disclosed here rather than counted as this run's.
19291:- **The step: V14.** Section V of `tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` grows its twelfth pair in the exact shape the eleven before it use — `sec_shift_deploy=$(sect "$LIVE_REG" shift-deploy)`, the `**132 assertions**` claim AND the suite named on that same figure line (`tests/test_shift_deploy.sh`) extracted off the section body, then `v_check 14 shift-deploy …` runs the child and compares the claim with the count the child printed. The guards moved **with** the set rather than around it: **V1** now pins all **twelve** named sections as read by `figure_readers()` over this tree (was eleven), **V9** — the last assertion in the file — pins section V's contribution at **25** (was 23), the closing `V:` line counts **12** child suites, the `V2..V13` header became `V2..V14`, and the section's cost sheet was rewritten from this run's own timings with the four still-queued sections named where a future editor reads them. `tools/REGISTRY.md`'s own `## test_registry_figure_readers.sh` section moved in the same change — figure **34 → 36**, "eleven child suites" → twelve at 0.4–17 s, V1/V9 prose **11/23 → 12/25**, cost ~59 s → ~76 s, hermeticity **two → three** live-read-only children (`test_shift_deploy.sh` named beside `test_budget_show.sh` and `test_deploy_ledger.sh`), exit-code note **26 → 36** — because leaving it stale would have been the `(126)`/`[0.4.328]` class this suite exists to catch, created by the very run adding the reader.
20176:- **Verification, every one measured after the edit and before this entry was written.** `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0, `all 236 linted file(s) parse clean`**, 374 changelog version headings / 374 unique / **11,106 citations / 0 missing** / 14,241 bare tokens / 2 ELF shipped, go-compile **47** modules — the citation count moved **11,099 → 11,106** (+7 = exactly the new path tokens the diff introduces) and **0 missing** discharges this entry's own citations; sha line reads pre-commit `593d2f8e23`. `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 0, `OK - one queue: [0.4.369] pointer-only, 111 item line(s) frozen across 323 section(s), 203 PROGRESS bullet(s), 2 path token(s)`** (R8 clear, no heading added). `bash tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` → **45 passed / 0 failed** — the one suite that parses this file (case 10 reads STRUCTURE.md's persona table, which this edit does **not** touch; case 9 confirms HEAD unchanged during the run), so the map edit reddens nothing. `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` → **exit 0, 48 file(s) in sync** — `STRUCTURE.md` is not in the deploy ledger, hence **no promote**. `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0** at the close of the edit, quoted above.
20197:- **Reported, per the order's own words ("report any mismatch") — and deliberately NOT fixed this run.** Reasons, one line each: `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` is an **operator-installed runtime file outside git**, the queue has pinned it untouched since the repin ask (dev 147) went out, `tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` (**45 assertions**) pins its behaviour, and **three units were mid-run at measurement time** (lena/jonas/leon), so an edit would have landed inside the 18:51:24 dispatcher and 18:55:17 sofia fires without any gate between the edit and production. The fix shape is one line and is queued below; it is cheap, needs no investor money, and is exactly the kind of small verifiable step the next ungated run can take if the operator does not take it first.
20207:- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **STEP 0 first every run** (today **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**, last reply **dev 147 / prod 112**; the table is `messages` with `direction='investor_to_agent'`). **TOP, still BLOCKED-ON-INVESTOR: the mia/sofia model repin** — re-read the investor's reply to **dev 147 / prod 112** first; if they pick an option, edit **only** the two `MODEL=` lines in `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` and watch `./tools/failed-units-classify` go **class_a=2 → 0**, with the units clearing on their own first green fire (never a `reset-failed` from this desk). **NEW this run, small and open: the per-agent git-author fix** — export `GIT_AUTHOR_NAME`/`GIT_AUTHOR_EMAIL`/`GIT_COMMITTER_NAME`/`GIT_COMMITTER_EMAIL` per identity in the wrapper's auto-commit block (or the same as two `-c` flags on those two `git` calls), plus `tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` assertions in the same step; it is **operator-owned runtime** (`/usr/local/sbin`, not in git), so the preference is the operator or an explicit investor nod — but the *evidence* is now on file and this entry is the report the 2026-09-26 order asked for. **NEXT CANDIDATE, created by run 987 and still pending its time — do not re-derive it: the 18:05 batch had NOT settled at 18:48:50 CEST** (dispatcher 18:51:24 and sofia 18:55:17 still ahead; lena/jonas/leon `activating` at 43/37/27 min with live `nemotron-3-ultra-free` children and untouched transcripts — a mid-run unit proves nothing), **so the run that opens after ~19:52 owns it: re-read `./tools/failed-units-classify` and the four persona transcripts (lena/jonas/leon/dispatcher); if they failed a THIRD time, send the investor ONE short factual status message** — and fold the **git-author mismatch** (this run's finding, one paragraph: every identity shift commit since 2026-10-12 is authored Atlas, cause = wrapper auto-commit sets no author, fix shape above) **into that same message rather than starting a second thread**; if the four are green, record it, and the author mismatch still deserves its own short line in that case. **tmp-sweep `--apply`: two preconditions remain** (first scheduled fire **Sat 2026-10-17 00:15:36 CEST**, still unfired, timer **dry-run**, then re-read `/data/agent-logs/tmp-sweep-plans.jsonl`'s candidate lists before any apply; `/tmp/gopath` + a live concurrent run's fresh files stay out of it); run 989's browser protection and run 990's reviewer gate are both **DISCHARGED**. **Also still open, unchanged:** the **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only and human; this run `ok=5 explained=0 unexplained=2` with **leon's row a mid-run artifact, not a fall**); the **log-truncation** standing WARN stays unreopened; run 952's **(i)** only on a measured future-dated marker and **(iii)** only on a measured A12 misread — **(ii) is discharged** (`[0.4.368]`); **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (**2 proposals**); **(2'')** the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` keep/fold/retire answer arrives; **§14 renewal** cadence, the **LAN-only A/B/C**, **SOA MNAME** and Pip's mail-policy research stay NEEDS-INVESTOR; **2026-10-20** §10 #6 re-read with `./tools/download-stats --format json`; **V14b** (`shift-deploy` 132 vs 127) stays a standing load-dependent environmental red; **(113)**'s two host `cp`s stay the operator's. The figure-reader fallback stays **EXHAUSTED** (17/18 read). **No `CHANGELOG.md` heading was added** (no tool/test/app figure, option, exit code or string moved — a docs+measurement step, the run 973/986/988/991/992 precedent), so queue-source R8's newest heading stays **`[0.4.369]`** and the `- Live:` line stays at **125** (no suite added).
20225:- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **STEP 0 first every run** (today **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**, last reply **dev 148 / prod 113**; the table is `messages` with `direction='investor_to_agent'`). **TOP, still BLOCKED-ON-INVESTOR: the mia/sofia model repin** — re-read the investor's reply to **dev 147 / prod 112** (and now to **dev 148** which folds the outage + git-author note) first; if they pick an option, edit **only** the two `MODEL=` lines in `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` and watch `./tools/failed-units-classify` go `class_a=2 → 0`, units clearing on their own first green fire (never a `reset-failed` from this desk). **Run 987's third-failure candidate is now DISCHARGED** — the message was sent this run (dev 148 / prod 113); the next run should NOT re-send it. **Do not re-derive the four-transcript third-failure check** — it fired and the report went out; if the four Class B units fail a *fourth* time on their next fires (tomorrow ~08:05–08:51 CEST) and the provider is still down, a *brief* follow-up ("still down, now 4×, self-heal still pending") is warranted only if the investor has not replied in between. **tmp-sweep `--apply`: two preconditions remain** (first fire **Sat 2026-10-17 00:15:36 CEST**, still unfired, timer **dry-run**, then re-read `/data/agent-logs/tmp-sweep-plans.jsonl`; `/tmp/gopath` + fresh concurrent files stay out of any apply). **Also still open, unchanged:** the **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only and human); the **log-truncation** standing WARN stays unreopened; run 952's **(i)**/**(iii)** stay dormant; **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (**2 proposals**); **(2'')** the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` keep/fold/retire answer arrives; **§14 renewal** cadence, **LAN-only A/B/C**, **SOA MNAME**, **Pip's mail-policy research** stay NEEDS-INVESTOR; **2026-10-20** §10 #6 re-read with `./tools/download-stats --format json`; **V14b** stays a standing environmental red; the **git-author fix** (one line in the operator's `identity-run.sh` + a `test_identity_wrapper.sh` assertion) stays **operator-owned / investor-nod** — the evidence and offer are now in the investor's inbox (dev 148). **No `CHANGELOG.md` heading was added** (no tool/test/app figure, option, exit code or string moved — a DB+docs step, the run 973/986/988/991/992/993 precedent), so queue-source R8's newest heading stays **`[0.4.369]`**.
20257:- **Gates measured this run, one line each:** `inbox-status` **rc 0** (0/0, 80/80/0) · `version-check` **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)** · `healthcheck` **dev HEALTHY 200 `0.4.28` / prod HEALTHY 200 `0.4.28`** · `queue-source-check` **OK, one queue `[0.4.369]` pointer-only, rc 0** · `failed-units-classify` **PERSISTENT (class_a=2 mia+sofia, class_b transient for lena/jonas/leon/dispatcher)** · `red-watch` **`state=red passed=26 failed=2`**, the two being **A12 + A30** and both **accurate** (six `identity-run@*` units genuinely failed) · `smtp-relay-probe` **rc 0, 0 open relays** · `tls-check` **9/9 OK**, 67d (apex) / 69d (cloud+photos) · `ip-drift-check` **OK, public = A record** · `systemctl list-timers` **every scheduled duty armed** (`identity-run@*` ×7 NEXT Sat 08:05:36–08:55:24 CEST, `tmp-sweep.timer` NEXT **Sat 2026-10-17 00:15:36 CEST** with LAST still `-`, `agent-loop-watchdog`, `certbot`, crontab `ip-drift-cron` weekly + `red-watch` `*/15`) · `test_gladex_monitor.sh` **28 assertions, 26 passed / 2 failed** — the two being exactly A12/A30, i.e. the failed units, **no new fault class** · git **clean before this entry, `rev-list --left-right --count main...origin/main` → `0 0`**.
20277:- **§5, recorded and deliberately NOT acted on: the rotation guard is unscheduled.** `tools/jsonl-rotate` (`[0.4.365]`) was built with this exact file as its default target, but `crontab -l` holds only `ip-drift-cron` (weekly) and `red-watch` (`*/15`), and nothing under `/etc/systemd/system/`, `/etc/cron.d/` or `/etc/crontab` mentions it. Growth is **~78.9 KB per fire**, daily (~29 MB/year on a 110 GB disk; `--keep-lines` default 100 ≈ 8 MB live + 2 archives whenever someone does run it). **Low urgency, left alone** — scheduling a timer or crontab line is a system change, the file is a few hundred KB today, and the tool refuses to truncate to nothing. Noted so the next reader need not re-derive it and so scheduling it stays a deliberate choice.
20449:- **`tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` → 41 passed / 3 failed, all three classified and none of them this change's.** **V7b** `test_identity_wrapper.sh` `want=45 got=44` with `child rc=1` — the child's own red is `case10 … (got='opencode/ling-3.1-flash-free' want='opencode/nemotron-3-ultra-free')`, i.e. **another seat's sofia model repin** (`a9c45a2`, 22:10Z) landing between the wrapper's docs and its `MODEL=` line — this run touches neither file; **V10b** `test_ip_drift_cron.sh` `want=340 got=338` with `child rc=1` on `live run wrote its log inside the sandbox (want '1' got '2')` — the suite's **live** arm, which on this box has **no DNS egress** (`getent hosts` → rc 2, `curl https://example.com` → resolve failure), so the real `ip-drift-check` takes its CHECK-ERROR path and writes the second log file; **V13b** `test_ip_drift_check.sh` `want=136 got=134` with `child rc=0` — the same live-arm shortfall (134 reproduced on a solo re-run), the registry's 136 being the **2026-10-14** network-present reading. All three children were last edited 10-02…10-07 and none references `tools/system-status` except the cron suite's documentation rows, so none can be this run's; the figure-reader census stays **18 sections, 17 read / 1 unread by construction (EXHAUSTED)**.
20453:- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **STEP 0 first every run** (today **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**; the table is `messages` with `direction='investor_to_agent'`; last reply **dev 149 / prod 114**). **TOP, still BLOCKED-ON-INVESTOR: the model repin — `mia` (`ling-3.1-flash-free`) and `aylin` (`muse-spark-1.3-contributor-free`), both ABSENT from the 69-model catalog**; sofia's pin was changed **by another seat** at 2026-10-24 22:52 CEST (her unit has left `systemctl --failed`), so confirm that was wanted when the investor next writes — **fold the mia/aylin instance into a reply they trigger, do not send a fourth standalone row.** **The download-counter defect is FIXED this run — do not re-queue it**; what remains of §10 #6 is only the investor's standing *"what counts as adoption"* call and the 1 unattributable candidate in 13 days. **Process note for the next run, measured here:** a run that adds a CHANGELOG heading reddens the six stub-baseline suites (`dns`, `go_tests`, `investor_duty`, `mx_soa`, `mx_soa_transport`, `tls_expiry`) and `queue-source-check` until its PROGRESS entry exists — **append the entry before running that batch**, do not re-derive the cause. **Also still open, unchanged:** the **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only, human; `fall: 1`, `baseline-stale 5`); the **log-truncation** standing WARN stays unreopened; run 952's **(i)** only on a measured future-dated marker and **(iii)** only on a measured A12 misread; **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json` (**2 proposals**); **(2'')** the day the `GETTING_STARTED.md` keep/fold/retire answer arrives; **§14 renewal** cadence, **LAN-only A/B/C**, **SOA MNAME**, **Pip's mail-policy D1–D4** (decision half) and the **`77.90.15.49` PTR** (operator item) stay NEEDS-INVESTOR; **`jsonl-rotate` stays built but unscheduled**; the **git-author fix** stays operator-owned / investor-nod; **V7b/V10b/V13b** in the figure reader are the concurrent-repin and no-DNS-egress reds recorded above. The figure-reader fallback stays **EXHAUSTED** (17/18 read) and the `- Live:` line stays at **125** (no suite added). **V14b, the §14 prune ask and the Class-B follow-up stay discharged.**
20457:- **Close-correction — post-push re-reads on the pushed tree, plus ONE figure of my own corrected; the run stops here with a clean tree.** Commit #1 → **`0839458`**, staged by **explicit pathspec** after `git status --porcelain` was read in the same breath and showed **exactly the five intended paths** (`CHANGELOG.md`, `REPORT.md`, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, `tests/test_download_counter.php`, `tools/REGISTRY.md`); `git status --porcelain` was **empty immediately after the commit**, i.e. this file was committed, not parked (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 3). Push **`40a25e0..0839458`** → **rc 0**, no force, no lease override (upstream had moved under me — another identity pushed while I staged, so the range is theirs → mine rather than `a9c45a2..`); `git rev-list --left-right --count main...origin/main` → **`0 0`**; `git ls-remote origin` → `refs/heads/main = 0839458`. **Correction, disclosed rather than smoothed:** the entry's counter bullet claims *"a scan of every line with `ts >= 1792879298` finds 0 `curl/8.5.0` entries"* — that predicate is wrong by exactly one line, because the boundary line **is** the last self-probe itself (`ts:1792879298`, `method:GET`, `ua:curl/8.5.0`); the measured truth is **`ts > 1792879298` → 0 lines**, i.e. **no self-probe has been written since the fix**, and the CHANGELOG `[0.4.372]` wording ("`curl/8.5.0` lines **after** that timestamp: 0") was already the correct strict form. Recounted both ways this close: `grep curl/8.5.0 | ts > 1792879298` → **0**; total `curl/8.5.0` lines → **3,011** (frozen); `grep -c '"method":"HEAD"'` → **0**, which is the suite's claim corroborated live — a HEAD writes no line at all. The counter was **3,031 → 3,031 across the post-push live run (delta 0 again)**. **STEP 0 re-paid at the close, no `agent_to_investor` row written and nothing marked read**: `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, "OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)"**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**, last reply **dev 149 / prod 114** (mia+aylin repin still unanswered; newest row in each DB still my own). `./tools/version-check` → **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)**; `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 0, one queue `[0.4.372]` pointer-only, 111 item line(s) across 326 section(s), 203 PROGRESS bullet(s)** — R8 clear on this run's own heading; `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` → **in sync, 48 file(s) across 2 env(s), rc 0** (so **no promote exists to take**, dev and prod untouched at **0.4.28**); `./tools/healthcheck` → **dev + prod HEALTHY 200 `"version":"0.4.28"`**; `./tools/budget-show` → **2026-10, allowance 5.00 / spent 0.00 / remaining 5.00**; `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0, `all 236 linted file(s) parse clean`, 376 changelog version headings / 376 unique / 10,308 citations / 0 missing** (re-read after the entry, not carried); `./tools/red-watch` → **`state=red passed=26 failed=2`**, the two being **A12 + A30** — i.e. **the push cleared A3, A4–A8, A15 and A28**, which had all failed pre-commit on this run's own in-flight state, leaving the standing pair (A12's detail now reads `checks in error: failed-units,DNS:gladex.de,ip-drift`: the six-unit reality plus the two **no-DNS-egress** rows this box cannot measure — `getent hosts` → rc 2, `curl https://example.com` → resolve failure, the same environmental class recorded for V10b/V13b); `./tools/failed-units-classify` (warm) → **rc 4 / PERSISTENT, `class_a=2` (`aylin`, `mia`), `class_b=4` transient ×4, `class_c=0`, catalog 69**; live `./tools/system-status --format json` → **`errors 3`**, `download` **`ok 200`**, `git-tree` **`[OK] clean`**, `queue-source` **ok**, `healthz-prod` **200**. Suites re-confirmed after the entry and before the push: the six former reds **49/0, 92/0, 50/0, 31/0, 76/0, 60/0** and `php tests/test_download_counter.php` **106 / 0**. Commit #2 stages **`agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` by explicit pathspec only**, and the stop-state after it is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`**. No app version moved (**0.4.28**), no `systemctl` change, no messages-DB write, no DNS/mail/API/key, spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
20465:- **The measurement, layer by layer, every figure taken this run.** (1) **Public resolvers**: `dig @1.1.1.1` and `dig @8.8.8.8` both → `178.104.11.60`. (2) **Authoritative**: `example-dns.net` (77.90.60.110) and `example-dns.org` (94.249.188.145) — resolved through 1.1.1.1, because this box's own resolver cannot resolve names at all — each answer `gladex.de A 178.104.11.60`, so **not cache and not the LAN split-horizon wildcard**. (3) **Zone**: SOA serial **`2026102402`** (was `2026092402`, the serial this repo recorded at its own last zone write, 2026-09-24); names moved **`@`, `www`, `mail` only** — `dev`/`git`/`info`/`stats`/`team`/`log` still `77.90.15.49`. (4) **Registry**: DENIC RDAP unchanged — `status: active`, same two nameservers, `last changed 2026-09-20T11:10:57+02:00` → **the delegation did not move, only zone contents did.** (5) **Ownership**: RIPE says `178.104.0.0/16` = netname `CLOUD-NBG1`, org `HOS-GUN` (Hetzner, DE), while `77.90.15.49` = `Threatoff` / `GHOSTNET-MNT` — a **different machine on a different network**; our own egress is still `77.90.15.49` (three echo services agree), so this is not an `ip-drift-cron` self-repoint either (detect+alert only since 2026-09-23; last fire 2026-10-18 ended `CHECK-ERROR … public_ip_unavailable`, wrote nothing). (6) **Timing, bounded not guessed**: `red-watch` last shows `DNS:gladex.de` **absent** from A12's error set at `2026-10-24T22:15:01Z` and **present** from `2026-10-24T23:30:01Z`, continuously through `2026-10-25T00:15:01Z`; `red-watch-20261023.log` holds **0** mentions (the 10-16 file's single occurrence is a same-day one-off, recorded, not smoothed); the new box's cert `notBefore` **2026-10-24T22:23:06Z** sits inside that window. The 22:30–23:15 ticks carry 10 failures and are truncated, so they neither confirm nor exclude the exact minute — the window above is what the logs support.

Baseline `tests/test_dns_verify.sh` **40 / 0**; the fixture needs a stubbed `dig` printing a SERVFAIL header, the live control is this box's own broken resolver (`dig example.com A` → `status: SERVFAIL`), and the two existing arms (**exit 0** with `--server 1.1.1.1`, **exit 4** on an unreachable server) must stay unmoved — one tool, one suite, repo scope, **no promote**. **INCIDENT, OPEN and now the top non-gated item: the apex repoint awaits the investor's answer to dev 150 / prod 115.** Until they answer, **do not touch the zone and do not re-derive the evidence** — it is all in `DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24`; re-read the row's two branches instead: *(a)* **deliberate* → correct **REPORT §11 and §7**, whose every public URL (`https://gladex.de/investor` and friends) now 404s, replacing them with the reachable `https://dev.gladex.de/…` entry point, and record the new owner of apex+mail; *(b)* *not deliberate* → the repair is `@ / www / mail → 77.90.15.49` (TTL 3600) **at the provider, by the investor/operator**, after which `dig @example-dns.net gladex.de A` and `dig @example-dns.org gladex.de A` must both answer `77.90.15.49` and port 25 must greet again before the `DOMAIN.md` entry may be struck. **Also still open, unchanged:** the **mia/aylin repin** (folded into dev 150 — do **not** send a fifth standalone row; edit **only** the two `MODEL=` lines in `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh` the day an answer arrives, and watch `failed-units-classify` go `class_a=2 → 0`); the **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only, human; `fall: 1`, `baseline-stale 5`); the **log-truncation** standing WARN stays unreopened; run 952's **(i)** only on a measured future-dated marker and **(iii)** only on a measured A12 misread; **(93)**/**(97)(a)** first if the investor answers `hiring/queue/*.json`; **(2'')**, **§14 renewal** cadence, **LAN-only A/B/C**, **SOA MNAME**, **Pip's mail-policy D1–D4** and the **`77.90.15.49` PTR** stay NEEDS-INVESTOR; **`jsonl-rotate` built but unscheduled**; the **git-author fix** operator-owned; **V7b/V10b/V13b** in the figure reader remain the concurrent-repin and no-DNS-egress reds. a497bfa fix(tools): run 1003 — failed-units-classify stops printing "(no failed units)" behind a cold catalog: a CANNOT-VERIFY refusal now lists the units it saw as Class C
a64ab11 feat(tools): run 989 — tmp-sweep keeps the BROWSER PAIR (/tmp/chs + /tmp/chs.zip) by NAME in PROTECTED_NAMES (protected-cache, the existing class, no sixth reason): both were still in the live plan at 439.4 h when re-read this run, and losing them costs SILENCE not red — /tmp/chs is the box's only chrome-headless-shell and all seven PHP suites' fallbacks are non-executable, so they skip() and print 0 failed with their browser checks gone (live proof they run today: test_start_320 59/0/0); chs.zip is the offline copy that keeps the tree recoverable. Discharges run 982's hard precondition for the queued --apply decision BEFORE the step it guards ([0.4.367] idiom), leaving two: the JSONL re-read after the first fire and gopath+fresh files out of an apply. Suite 169->181 (A15 help/tuple pin, D24-D32 own fixture root incl. fixture-scoped --apply, H11-H12 live shape), REGISTRY rule+rationale+figure, CHANGELOG [0.4.369], reviewer gate REVIEW-20261016T140000Z-tmp-sweep-protected-browser; registry-coverage rc0 violations=0, jsonl-rotate 106/0, repo-lint pre-commit 373 headings/11066 citations/0 missing (->374), queue-source rc0 [0.4.369]; no promote, no systemctl change, no /tmp path removed, timer still dry-run to 2026-10-17 00:15:36 CEST, dev+prod 0.4.28, spend 0.00
9facc57 docs: run 988 — discharge queue item (ii): attribution-gap reader is DAY-granular by declared contract, and run 986's live instance (aylin 08:26Z shift swept into edeb0586) was a real day-gap at ~10:45Z that aylin's own same-day 11:26Z shift commit 4d07666 closed — so the bare reader correctly prints no attribution gap now; the bound is declared in the tool docstring + tools/REGISTRY.md (changelog [0.4.368]); docs/prose only, --help byte-identical, suite 80/0, coverage-child rc 0 violations=0, no promote, dev+prod 0.4.28, spend 0.00
5401cd0 feat(tools): run 985 — tmp-sweep's mount class now covers the SUBTREE, not just the entry: measure() consults os.path.ismount at every walked node (protected-mount, before age is asked) and remove() re-measures immediately before rmtree() and refuses (OSError -> failures, exit 1), because scope is enforced by resolved path at the root alone and rmtree() does not stop at a mount, so a bind mounted below an entry would have been emptied across a filesystem the tool may never touch (plan is a snapshot of a different instant than the removal); suite 147->169 with mutant M6 (M4 idiom, patched ismount driven through mod.main()) + A14; REGISTRY rule entry, CHANGELOG [0.4.367]; no promote, no systemctl change, dev+prod 0.4.28

The three figure-reader reds are already classified in PROGRESS.md's run-1006 entry (concurrent-repin + no-DNS-egress, none mine), and V3b (dns-verify 64==64) passes. Confirming the exact counts, then writing the entry:
$ grep -c '^PASS' /tmp/opencode/figread.out; grep -c '^FAIL' /tmp/opencode/figread.out; grep -n "V3" /tmp/opencode/figread.out; cd /data/repo && tail -c 600 agent-logs/PROGRESS.md

17:PASS: V3a dns-verify: figure 64 and suite tests/test_dns_verify.sh both read off the section
18:PASS: V3b dns-verify: the registry's figure equals what tests/test_dns_verify.sh produced (child rc=0)
this entry is appended **before** the commit that carries it (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) and is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp` (rules 2–3); the stop-state check is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after the commit. This run makes **one content commit** (two paths, explicit pathspec) and pushes; **if** a second commit follows (post-push re-reads), this entry's close-correction bullet is **re-appended before commit #2** (rule 2). No app version moved — the served version stays **`0.4.28`**. Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.

20387:## Builder — run 1003 — small verifiable step: **`failed-units-classify` stops printing "(no failed units)" behind a cold catalog** — a CANNOT-VERIFY refusal now lists the units it saw as Class C, so the tool's own empty-catalog guard can no longer hide a real outage behind a comforting blank line; the fix separates the `systemctl --failed` read from the classification, keeps the JSON contract and the `2 > 3 > 4 > 1 > 0` precedence intact, and is pinned by 15 new assertions + a 5th mutant (`tests/test_failed_units_classify.sh` **91 → 106 passed / 0 failed / 0 skipped**); CHANGELOG `[0.4.371]`; dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**
20407:## Builder — run 1004 — small verifiable step: **two dated queue reads are taken together** — the **Class-B 4th-failure follow-up is DISCHARGED on a green probe** (both arms of the 120 s PROBE-OK pair answered `PROBE-OK`, so the item's own rule says *drop it*: **no `agent_to_investor` row was written**), and **§10 #6's dated 2026-10-20 re-read** is finally executed with `./tools/download-stats --format json` + a 15-day Apache cross-read — it finds the download counter is **3,002 / 3,018 = 99.5 % this box's own `system-status` GET**, so #6 stays *not evaluable as written* and one new defect is queued (the monitor writes into the counter it observes); the **175-commit origin backlog is pushed**, `rev-list 0 0`; REPORT.md §10 carries the reading; dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**
20431:## Builder — run 1005 — small verifiable step: **the system-status → download-counter defect is FIXED — the monitor's own probe of `/download/gladex` is now a HEAD, so the dashboard no longer writes one line into the counter it reports** (`check_endpoint NAME URL [METHOD]`, `get` default / `head` → `curl -I`, unknown method = red row issuing **no request**), guarded by **+21 assertions** in the counter's own suite (`tests/test_download_counter.php` **85 → 106**, 0 failed) plus the M1 mutant and the pre-fix replay; measured live: the prod counter went **3,028 → 3,028 (delta 0)** through a full run and **0** `curl/8.5.0` lines have landed since the fix; CHANGELOG `[0.4.372]`; dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**

- **STEP 0, paid first — owed nothing, then the run's own notice.** `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod** at orientation; `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, "OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)"**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0** (both entries listed in this run's brief — 2026-09-30 hiring, 2026-10-05 prod-version correction — already ~~HANDLED~~), last reply **dev 149 / prod 114**. **Production is 0.4.28** (the investor's 2026-10-05 correction stands; the wrong figure 0.4.29 quoted nowhere): `./tools/version-check` → **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)**; `./tools/healthcheck` → **dev + prod HEALTHY, HTTP 200, both `"version":"0.4.28"`**; `./tools/budget-show` → 2026-10, allowance **5.00 / spent 0.00 / remaining 5.00**. Because this run found a production-affecting change nobody in this repo made, it then wrote **one** `agent_to_investor` row into each database — dev **id 150**, prod **id 115**, `ts` **1792887699** (= `2026-10-25T00:21:39Z`, an **epoch**, never ISO, per run 371's lesson), `body` 2,649 bytes, `read=0` — inside `BEGIN IMMEDIATE`, with the unread predicate re-read **after** the commit: still **0 / 0**, and `./tools/inbox-status` re-run → **rc 0, last reply dev 150 / prod 115**. The row is a notice, not a status line: it carries the evidence, the single ask (*deliberate or not?*), and folds the still-unanswered **mia/aylin repin** into itself so the standing item does not need a fifth standalone row.

- **Why this step: it is the only queue line this run could both discover and close, and it outranks everything else on the board.** Every other priced item was gated before this run opened — TOP mia/aylin repin **BLOCKED-ON-INVESTOR** (folded above), coverage `--record` human, (93)/(97)(a) awaiting `hiring/queue/*.json` (**2 proposals**), `(2'')`/`§14`/`SOA MNAME`/mail-policy/PTR NEEDS-INVESTOR, `jsonl-rotate` and `tmp-sweep --apply` operator-owned, run 952's (i)/(iii) conditioned on measurements that still do not exist. The `system-status` run then showed **`DNS:gladex.de` in `error`**: `1.1.1.1 answered '178.104.11.60', 8.8.8.8 answered '178.104.11.60', expected 77.90.15.49` — a public entry point was no longer ours, and nothing in this repository knew it.

- **The measurement, layer by layer, every figure taken this run.** (1) **Public resolvers**: `dig @1.1.1.1` and `dig @8.8.8.8` both → `178.104.11.60`.

- **Impact, measured by path and by port rather than asserted.** On `https://gladex.de` with the same `Host`, the **new** host (Caddy; fresh LE cert `SAN: DNS:gladex.de` only) answers `/` → `302 /admin` → `302 /login` → **200 "Sign in · gladex.de"**, and **404** on `/investor`, `/team`, `/mailbox`, `/stats`, `/download/gladex` and `/healthz`, while **our** `77.90.15.49` answers **200** on all seven — i.e. the build is healthy and merely unreachable at the apex. **Mail is worse**: `MX 10 gladex.de.` follows the apex, and **TCP 25 to 178.104.11.60 times out with no greeting** (rc 124) while `77.90.15.49:25` still answers `220 startup-builder.lxd ESMTP Postfix (Ubuntu)` → senders defer then bounce, **inbound `*@gladex.de` is currently undeliverable**. Unaffected and verified green: `https://dev.gladex.de/` **200** and `…/healthz` **200** (that name never moved), plus local `:8000`/`:8001` `/healthz` 200.

- **What was deliberately NOT done: the zone was not touched.** No `tools/pdns-api.py` invocation, no `dig` beyond reads, no revert, no credential loaded, no `@/www/mail` repoint from this desk — the brief makes the zone gate money, and a repoint of exactly the three entry-point names looks at least as much like a deliberate migration as like an accident, so **reverting it unasked would have been the irreversible error here**. No `systemctl` change of any kind, no `rm`, **no SMTP mail sent** (the notice is an `agent_to_investor` row, not a message to any address), no DNS write, no paid API, no API key configured, **never `git stash`**. Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.

- **A second defect found while working the first, queued not fixed: `dns-verify` folds a SERVFAIL into exit 3 "a real negative answer".** Measured four ways this run: default resolver → `dns-verify example.com A` prints `records:[], has_records:false, network_errors:0, errors:[]` and **exits 3** — the registry's definition of 3 being *"Query **completed** but no records exist for domain/type (a real negative answer)"* — while the raw query behind it is `dig example.com A` → **`status: SERVFAIL, ANSWER: 0`**, i.e. the query was **not** completed. Controls prove the boundary is exactly this case: `--server 1.1.1.1` → **exit 0** with the real records (`gladex.de → 178.104.11.60`), and an unreachable server (`--server 203.0.113.1 --timeout 2`) → **exit 4** with `network_errors:1` and the dig error text, so timeouts are already separated correctly and only the SERVFAIL/REFUSED shape is misread. This is the same class `domain-availability-check` was fixed for in `358558f` (*"an OFFLINE machine certified every domain as free (resolver failure read as authoritative 'no records')"*), one tool down the line — and it nearly produced a false negative **on this run's own incident**, reporting `gladex.de` as having no records at all.

## Builder — run 1007 — small verifiable step: **`dns-verify` stops certifying a server failure as a negative answer — dig's header `status:` now decides the exit code**, so a resolver that never answered (SERVFAIL/REFUSED/NOTIMP/…) reports **exit 4** with `network_errors` counted and `status: <RCODE>` in `errors`, while **exit 3** stays reserved for a genuinely completed `NOERROR`/`NXDOMAIN` with zero answers — the `+short` invocation that printed *nothing* on failure (and so made every SERVFAIL look like "no records") is gone; suite `tests/test_dns_verify.sh` **40 → 64 passed / 0 failed** with two new mutants (M3 rcode classifier, M4 structural-comment filter), shared transport suite untouched at **80 / 0**, CHANGELOG **`[0.4.373]`**; dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**

- **STEP 0, paid first — owed nothing.** `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod**; `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, "OK - nothing owed"**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0 open** (both brief entries already ~~HANDLED~~), last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**; `./tools/inbox-status` re-run at orientation → **rc 0, last reply dev 150 / prod 115**; **no `agent_to_investor` row written** (nothing owed, and the apex incident's row is still unread and awaiting the investor). **Production is 0.4.28** — `./tools/version-check` → **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)**, `./tools/healthcheck` → **dev + prod HEALTHY, HTTP 200, both `"version":"0.4.28"`**; `./tools/budget-show` → 2026-10, allowance **5.00 / spent 0.00 / remaining 5.00**; `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` → **in sync, 48 file(s) across 2 env(s), rc 0** → **no promote exists to take**.

- **Why this step: it is exactly the queue line run 1006 left, and it is a false-negative factory on this box.** The registry's own exit-code contract already says exit 3 is *"Query **completed** but no records exist for domain/type (a real negative answer)"* and that *"asked and got nothing" ≠ "never got an answer"* — yet the tool decided completion from **dig's exit code alone**, and this box's resolver SERVFAILs *every* name with **rc 0**. Pre-fix evidence, re-measured at orientation: `dns-verify example.com A` → **exit 3**, `records:[]`, `network_errors:0`, **`errors:[]`** ("nothing went wrong, there are simply no records") while the query behind it, `dig example.com A`, says **`;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: SERVFAIL, id: …` … `ANSWER: 0`**. The same trap nearly produced a false negative on run 1006's own incident (reporting `gladex.de` as record-less while the zone demonstrably answers), and it is the same class `domain-availability-check` was fixed for in `358558f` — one tool down the line.

- **The fix = the header decides, and `+short` is gone.** `dig` is now invoked **without `+short`** (its whole failure mode was that `+short` prints *nothing* on a server failure, leaving only rc 0 to reason about — measured: `dig +short example.com A` → empty stdout, **rc 0**, vs the full output's `status: SERVFAIL, ANSWER: 0`). New `HEADER_STATUS_RE` pulls `status: <RCODE>` from `;; ->>HEADER<<-`; `COMPLETED_STATUSES = {NOERROR, NXDOMAIN}` is the *only* set that completes a query. Per type: rc ≠ 0 / stderr / a `TRANSPORT_RE` complaint → **4** (unchanged, the run-1005 contract); rcode ∉ completed → **4** with `errors: ["<type>: status: <RCODE> — server did not answer the query"]` and `network_errors` incremented (a **partial** answer still exits **0** with the failures visible — measured: the `mixed` stub, A answered + 6× SERVFAIL → `0` with `network_errors:6`); otherwise parse → **0** (answers) or **3** (completed, zero answers). Parsing walks only the **`;; ANSWER SECTION:`** block, so an AUTHORITY SOA (an NXDOMAIN's referral) can never become a record — and the short-form path still routes bare values through `split_dig_output()`, keeping the wrapper/legacy shape intact. Two boundaries held deliberately: a **headerless rc-0 empty** output stays **exit 3** (the transport suite's M1 mutant requires it — dig's own exit status is the only completion signal there), and the section walk uses a literal `line.startswith(";;")` rather than `DIAGNOSTIC_PREFIX` so the transport suite's M2 precondition stays surgical (a second `DIAGNOSTIC_PREFIX` occurrence reddened that suite 78/1 until fixed — measured, corrected before anything else moved).

- **Live controls, every one measured after the fix on this box** (whose default resolver SERVFAILs **all** names): `dns-verify example.com A` → **exit 4**, `errors:["A: status: SERVFAIL …"]`, `network_errors:1` (pre-fix: 3 / `errors:[]`); the default 7-type run → **4** as well · `--server 1.1.1.1 gladex.de A` → **exit 0** with the real record (**`178.104.11.60`**, control unmoved) · `--server 203.0.113.1 --timeout 1` → **exit 4** (control unmoved) · `this-domain-should-be-available-12345.de` via `--server 1.1.1.1` → **exit 3** with **`status: NXDOMAIN` measured** — the genuine completed negative *preserved*, which is the whole point of the split — while the **same name on the default resolver → 4** · `--format human example.com A` → **exit 4**, `Network errors: 1` and the status quoted, so the human contract carries the same verdict.

- **Tests: `bash tests/test_dns_verify.sh` → 64 passed / 0 failed (was 40 / 0).** The scenario stub was rewritten to print dig's **full output shape** and grew modes `noerror nxdomain servfail refused notimp mixed short`; new **§3b rcode contract** asserts exit 4 + `status:` in `errors` + `network_errors` for SERVFAIL/REFUSED/NOTIMP, `3` for `NOERROR`-empty and `NXDOMAIN`, the NXDOMAIN's AUTHORITY SOA never becoming a record, `mixed` → `0`/`network_errors=6`, and legacy headerless output → `0`; **M3** defeats the rcode classifier (the fix itself: the mutant reproduces the pre-fix exit 3 and must be caught) and **M4** drops the structural-comment filter (the `;;` lines then count as transport failures) — each precondition-asserted to occur exactly once and re-checked surgical on the happy path. `bash tests/test_dig_tools_transport.sh` → **80 passed / 0 failed**, file **unmodified** (its M1/M2 preconditions re-verified exactly once, as its own contract demands). `bash tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` → **41 passed / 3 failed** with **V3a/V3b green (figure 64 == the suite's 64, child rc 0)** — the three reds are **V7b/V10b/V13b**, the concurrent-repin and no-DNS-egress reds run 1006's entry already classified and **none of them this change's** (this run's diff touches only `tools/dns-verify`, its suite, one registry section and the changelog; the `identity_wrapper` child still fails on `case10 … sofia model`, `ip_drift_cron`/`ip_drift_check` on their live arms).

- **Registry and changelog moved with the code.** `tools/REGISTRY.md` `## dns-verify`: the exit-code bullets now name the rcode clause, a new **Response-rcode classification (the 2026-10-25 fix)** paragraph records the `+short` measurement and the completed set, `network_errors`' definition grew the rcode arm, `errors`' prose carries the `status: <RCODE>` shape and both record paths, the Tests bullet reads **64 assertions** (40 before the fix) with the new modes and mutants, a dated **Live (re-measured 2026-10-25)** line lists every control above, and **Status** now reads *"server-failure rcode classification added 2026-10-25"*. **CHANGELOG `[0.4.373]`** appended (tool flags + assertions moved → a heading is owed), **newest heading at the bottom**, so queue-source R8's newest is `[0.4.373]` and **this entry names it**.

- **Readings, still pre-commit (appended before the commit, run 1005's process note discharged by construction — the entry exists *before* the batch below):** `./tools/queue-source-check` → **rc 0, `OK - one queue: [0.4.373] …`** (R8 cleared by this entry, which is why it ran *after* the append) · the six stub-baseline suites the changelog heading reddens → `test_system_status_dns` **49 / 0**, `test_system_status_go_tests` **92 / 0**, `test_system_status_investor_duty` **50 / 0**, `test_system_status_mx_soa` **31 / 0**, `test_system_status_mx_soa_transport` **76 / 0**, `test_system_status_tls_expiry` **60 / 0** · `bash tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` → **child rc 0, `violations=0`, figure 125** · `./tools/repo-lint` → **rc 0**, `all … linted file(s) parse clean`, **378 changelog version headings / 378 unique / 0 missing citation(s)** (HEAD blobs: the heading count is the post-commit prediction) · `./tools/red-watch` and `./tools/failed-units-classify` → lines recorded in the close-correction bullet if the numbers move · both dns suites re-run green after every edit (**64 / 0** and **80 / 0**).
