Tail — run-20261003-202328-607.log (last 200 lines)
a syntax rule — `[0.4.53]`'s own defect, planted; the empty-kind fallback dropped;
repo-lint's reason dropped from a single-failure refusal; `[0.4.54]`'s three —
**the `path:` attribution prefix dropped**, **the empty-message guard dropped (a
silent failure grows an invented reason)**, and **the pre-fix one-failure-only
rule restored** — M10/M11/M12; **`[0.4.55]`'s — the changelog rule dropped from
the `--help` prose, i.e. the defect itself, planted — M13**; **`[0.4.92]`'s — the
mixed exit-3 refusal's verified half dropped from the parent's detail, i.e. the
defect itself, planted — M14**; **`[0.4.93]`'s two — the exit-3 bound's
`(+N more)` announcement dropped, and the `errors[]` dict branch dropped so every
cause falls back to `str(e)`, i.e. one half of the defect each — M15/M16**). **Since `[0.4.47]` the sandbox is
a real git repo too** (`git init` + baseline commit in the fixture): without it the
ship-tree gate that now runs *after* this suite's own gate fails closed and every
scenario reports 8 instead of 0. Scenario `repo-lint` stub emitting
the real child's JSON shapes (`ok`, `php-fail`, `go-broken`, `changelog-dup`,
`mixed-langs`, `rc1-no-lang`, `rc1-empty`, **`multi-reasons`** (three failures,
one message-less — attribution and the never-invent-a-reason rule), **`many-reasons`**
(seven, mixed rules — the shared 5-failure bound), `cannot-verify`,
**`cannot-verify-mixed`** (exit 3 carrying `errors[]` *and* two `failures[]`,
one of them a rule), **`cannot-verify-many`** (exit 3, **four dict-shaped
`errors[]` entries** + one failure — the real payload shape, the bound and the
marker) and **`cannot-verify-three`** (three dicts — the off-by-one the bound
rests on), `usage`, `garbage`, `rc0-not-ok`, `hang`), a static assertion that the gate call
precedes the copy loop, gate-order checks (5 and 6 outrank 7), `--help` contract
(including that exit 7 no longer promises *only* a syntax failure, and — **since
`[0.4.55]`, section J-b** — that the *Commit lint gate* prose states **all three**
of repo-lint's rules on whitespace-flattened help, names
`tools/repo-lint --help` as the rule set's home, and no longer defines a clean
tree as "parses + compiles"; plus the module docstring, where the gate list's
long-promised `Commit lint gate (exit 7) — see below.` now has a **section**,
asserted on the **docstring slice** rather than the whole file —
`check_lint_gate`'s own docstring already named the rule, so a whole-file match
passed while the promised section was still missing — with a positional check
pinning it between 0b and 0d), and **section N runs the REAL `repo-lint`** against a throwaway git repo (clean
commit → `LINT OK`; a committed PHP parse error → exit 7 naming the file; **N-b:
a committed `CHANGELOG.md` repeating `## [1.0.0]` → exit 7 with no parse/compile
claim, the rule named and repo-lint's own reason carried**). **Section N2** pins the
rc-1 detail's three shapes through the stub (specific wording *kept* for a syntax
rule, derived wording for a rule/mixed/langless/empty failure). **Section N3**
(`[0.4.54]`) pins **attribution**: one `path: reason` pair per failure for a
single failure and for many alike (one format, not two — asserted on
`changelog-dup`, on `mixed-langs` and on `multi-reasons`), a message-less failure
still named in the path line while its bracket stays silent (`tools/check.sh` vs
`tools/check.sh:`), and the shared bound (`many-reasons`: paths **and** reasons
stop at 5, both printing `(+2 more)`, the 7th failure's reason never quoted).
**Section N4** (`[0.4.92]`) pins the **mixed exit-3 refusal**: the unverifiable
half still reported, the *verified* half reaching the verdict too (both files,
`fail lint (changelog, php)`, a reason attributed to its own file), the two

`fail lint (changelog, php)`, a reason attributed to its own file), the two
halves in **one** string in that order — errors first, verdict appended — the
refusal still ending in `fix the commit before promoting`, and, on the pure
`cannot-verify` shape, **no** failure verdict, **no** parse/compile claim and
**no** file named that the child never judged (the boundary that keeps
"cannot verify" from becoming a verdict of its own).
**Section N5** (`[0.4.93]`) pins the **shape and the bound of the exit-3
causes**: a dict-shaped `errors[]` entry — the payload the child *really*
sends, since `lint()`, the Go compile gate and the changelog gate all return
`{"path","lang","error"}` — rendered as `path: error` with **no** Python repr
(`{'path' …`) anywhere in the refusal; the fourth cause stopped at the bound
**and announced** with `(+1 more)`, in one string with the appended verdict
half (`… (+1 more), and committed file(s) fail to parse or compile: …`); the
off-by-one checked both ways (**three** causes all shown and *not* marked
truncated); and the plain-**string** fallback every older stub emits left
byte-equal to what it printed before the helper existed.
**Pre-fix replay**
(tool md5 `106cabca1bed13a0554f6a7e27d2b10f`, log

(`--help` ×2, live N-b ×3, N2 ×9) plus **M7–M9 unplantable** (`plant matched 0
line(s)`), while the guards — exit 7, the file being named, the parse/compile
sentence *surviving* for a real syntax failure, `fix the commit before promoting` —
passed pre-fix. **Pre-fix replay for `[0.4.54]`** (tool md5

behavioural (N2's two attributions, N3 ×6) plus **M10–M12 unplantable** (`plant

such — the paths bound, the silent file staying silent, the 6th/7th reasons never
quoted, `fail lint (…)`, and `fix the commit before promoting`. **Pre-fix replay

behavioural (the epilog's three rules, the `tools/repo-lint --help` pointer, the
stale parse+compile sentence, the docstring's missing section, the same rule named
there, and the 0b → 0c → 0d position) plus **M13 unplantable** (`plant matched 0
line(s)` — the line it would revert did not exist yet), while every guard passed

Measured on the untouched file rather than inferred — **\\`plint.*\\` 3,269 → 3,282**, \\`2026-10-03T18:25:13Z → 18:25:33Z\\`, **20 s**, \\`189 passed, 0 failed\\`, rc **0**, with **1.4 G** already standing under \\`/tmp/opencode\\` — and the trap fires **after** \\`promote commit-lint gate suite: 189 passed, 0 failed\\` prints, so no assertion in this suite and no gate outside it could ever have seen it.\n- **(131)'s second correction, made mechanical instead of left as prose**: a ledger appended **only** inside \\`new_sandbox()\\` silently misses a second sandbox factory — \\`tests/test_repo_lint.sh\\` already has one (\\`new_go_sandbox()\\` / \\`GO_SB\\`) — so a future (128) run on that file would record half its directories and call it covered. **Z7** derives **both** counts from this file (non-comment factory sites vs ledger recorders) and requires them equal, with neither reader able to count its own source: comment lines are dropped first and the factory token is split across two quotes on the line that names it.\n- **(131)'s first correction, likewise**: the (128) inventory counted **files** as leaked sandboxes (\\`ls -d rl.*\\` → 6 where only **1** entry is a directory, the other five being \\`rl.err\\` \\`rl.json\\` \\`rl.log\\` \\`rl.out\\` \\`rl.txt\\`). \\`count_sandboxes()\\` reads \\`find -maxdepth 1 -type d\\`, and **Z8/Z9** point both readers at one fixture where they disagree.\n\n### Added\n- **\\`SB_ALL\\`** — a newline-terminated ledger of every directory \\`new_sandbox\\` makes, written on the line after the factory's directory exists; \\`cleanup()\\` iterates it (\\`for d in $SB_ALL; do [ -n \"$d\" ] && rm -rf \"$d\"; done; return 0\\`) instead of reading \\`$SB\\`. The \\`return 0\\` matters: the loop's last test can be false, and an \\`EXIT\\`-trap status must not become the suite's exit code.\n- **Section Z — the trap's claim read while the run is still alive.** **Z1** the accounting, \\`entries = section calls + these 2\\`, expectation **derived from this file**; **Z2** no directory recorded twice; **Z3** both fresh sandboxes on disk; **Z4** both in the ledger in creation order; **Z5** \\`cleanup\\` removed **both**; **Z6** the pre-fix shape reproduced on purpose (\\`rm -rf \"$Z_O2\"\\` with \\`$SB\\` being the last leaves \\`Z_O1\\` standing — *is* the 13 directories); **Z7** every factory records (above); **Z8/Z9** directories-not-files (above); **Z10** one \\`cleanup()\\` and **every** ledger directory is gone, read with the directory reader — the end-to-end version of the figure the old inventory took from \\`ls\\`.\n- \\`tools/REGISTRY.md\\`'s \\`## test_promote_lint_gate.sh\\` moves **189 → 199** with the ledger and section Z documented beside the mutation list (the refresh (129) asked of every suite a (128) run touches).\n\n### Tests\n- **Baseline before any edit, re-read rather than carried:** **189 passed / 0 failed**, rc 0, **20 s** (18:25:13Z → 18:25:33Z), \\`plint.*\\` **3,269 → 3,282 (+13)**, \\`du -sch\\` → **1.4 G**. \\`bash -n\\` → **SYNTAX OK** before it was ever run; the two derived counts read **14** section calls, **1** factory, **1** recorder.\n- **After the edit: 199 passed / 0 failed, rc 0, 21 s**, \\`grep -c '^PASS: Z'\\` → **10**, \\`grep -c '^FAIL:'\\` → **0**, \\`plint.*\\` **3,282 → 3,282: zero leaked**, Z1 reporting \\`16 entries = 14 section calls + these 2\\` and Z10 \\`all 19 ledger directories are gone\\`.\n- **Two mutants, both run OUT of the tree** (same basename — the (127) lesson, \\`SELF\\` resolves through \\`basename \"$0\"\\` — \\`tools/\\` symlinked, \\`TMPDIR\\` pointed at each copy's own scratch): **(1)** \\`cleanup\\` reverted to the pre-fix one-liner (md5 \\`9b6500da7b841d8c97adc7692c89be23\\` vs \\`4d786142968d26962279f3cef04dfb0e\\`) → **197 passed / 2 failed, rc 1**, the reds **exactly \\`Z5\\`** (\\`cleanup() left …/plint.cChx9g behind\\`) **and \\`Z10\\`** (\\`15 of 19 ledger directories still on disk\\`) with Z1–Z4 and Z6–Z9 green — the ledger still reports faithfully while the *cleanup* claim reddens; **(2)** a second, non-recording factory added (\\`new_go_sandbox()\\`, the (131) shape) → **198 passed / 1 failed, rc 1**, the single red **\\`Z7 … (got 2 factories / 1 recorders)\\`** while Z10 stays green — the mutant's own \\`go.*\\` directory is **invisible to Z10** (the ledger never recorded it) and is caught **only** by Z7, which is the whole argument for that control. Both copies and their scratches deleted afterwards. Evidence \\`/tmp/opencode/q131-baseline.log\\`, \\`q131-fixed.log\\`, \\`q131mut1/mutant.log\\`, \\`q131mut2/mutant.log\\` (mutant logs deleted with the copies).\n- **Reclaim only after the suite had proved it leaks nothing:** \\`ps\\` re-checked first (no concurrent run), then \\`find … -type d -name 'plint.*' | xargs -0 -r rm -rf\\` → **3,282 → 0**, \\`du -sch /tmp/opencode\\` **8.5 G → 7.2 G**, \\`df /\\` **71 G used / 22 G free (76 %) → 70 G / 24 G (74 %)**. Then the proof that matters — a fresh run from a **zero** baseline → **199 passed / 0 failed, rc 0**, \\`plint.*\\` **0 → 0**, ending **18:34:50Z**, its log **md5-identical** to the pre-reclaim fixed run (\\`4f58517b3c60e1f5647a831389cfccc4\\`). Evidence \\`/tmp/opencode/q131-postreclaim.log\\`.\n\n### Notes\n- Unchanged on purpose: no suite added → \\`- Live:\\` **85** untouched; \\`GLADEX_APP_VERSION\\` **0.4.28**; **no tool source and no \\`app/src/php\\` file touched → no reviewer gate and no promote** (this step is \\`tests/\\` + \\`tools/REGISTRY.md\\` + this entry only); no service restart (**(99)** stands), \\`crontab -l\\` unchanged at **2** lines, **zero DNS writes**, **no mail sent**, \\`hiring/queue/ruben-stoll.json\\` untouched, no history rewrite, spend **0.00** of the 5.00 monthly allowance, free \\`*-free\\` models only.\n- **Why the readers are written the way they are.** Z7's factory token is spelled \\`mk''temp\\` on the line that names it and comment lines are dropped before counting, so the reader cannot count its own source (the (126) defect class); Z10 reads directories through \\`count_sandboxes\\`, never a glob, so the figure the old inventory took from \\`ls\\` has a reader inside the suite.\n\n### Queue\nAuthoritative next-candidate queue lives in \\`agent-logs/PROGRESS.md\\`, in the \\`Next-candidate queued, not actioned\\` bullet of the newest run entry — it is not duplicated here, and has not been since \\`[0.4.67]\\`. To read the live queue, open \\`PROGRESS.md\\`; to know whether that is still true, run \\`tools/queue-source-check\\`.\n`;\nconst before = fs.readFileSync(\"/data/repo/CHANGELOG.md\", \"utf8\");\nfs.writeFileSync(\"/data/repo/CHANGELOG.md\", before + entry);\nreturn \"appended, bytes=\" + entry.length;"}
