Tail — run-20261003-042104-559.log (last 200 lines)
- **The scope of section F's rule was prose, not code.** After `[0.4.176]` the *rule* was machine-checked but its *scope* was not: the literal `^- Live` was spelled independently in the `fig_live` selector, in the `fig_scope` union and in the `DIAG` extraction, and quoted a fourth time in this file and in the suite's `--help`. A claim line written as a continuation of its own bullet — which is how registry sections normally continue a bullet — therefore sat outside all four readers at once while the prose above them said "every numeric `- Live:` bullet".
- **Measured, not assumed:** `tools/REGISTRY.md` holds **19** `Live` claim lines under the widened shape and **14** under `^- Live` alone. The five the literal could not see are `Live transcript …` and `Live: repo-lint --format json --sha HEAD …` (both carrying no digit, so out of the numeric rule by content as well as by indentation) and three `Live (…[0.4.46]/[0.4.47]/[0.4.49]… run)` lines under `system-status` — **numeric and undated**, i.e. exactly the `[0.4.176]` finding still sitting in the file one rule later.
- **Those three are now dated `measured 2026-09-25`**, the date of the `[0.4.46]`/`[0.4.47]`/`[0.4.49]` runs their own citations name — so the date and the citation agree instead of one standing in for the other.

### Changed

- **`LIVE_RE` is defined once and read by all four readers of section F** — the singular-count selector, the `fig_scope` undated union, the `DIAG` text extraction, and the two helpers the controls read back (`figure_lines`, `first_figure`). Shape is *optional indent + optional `- ` bullet + optional `**`*, so `- Live: …`, ` Live: …` and `- **Live**: …` are one scope rather than three documents. The boundary can no longer be moved by editing a comment: to widen the rule you must edit the one line every reader reads.
- **The decision (120) asked for, taken explicitly:** a `[0.4.x]` citation is **not** accepted as machine-checked attribution. A date is the one token any reader can check without opening a second file, whereas resolving a citation depends on a changelog parse that `[0.4.175]` had just shown to be ambiguous (anchored vs greedy). So the shape chosen is *both* halves — date the three lines, **and** make the scope itself code — rather than either half alone.
- All four readers now agree by construction on what a claim line is: measured on the live registry, `fig_live` reads **1** suite-carrying claim line before and after, and `first_figure` reads **83** before and after, so the widening changed *what could be seen*, not what is currently seen.

### Tests

- **`C34` (12 assertions)** — an indented `Live` claim line that *is* dated loses its date, and **`C34c` asserts the old `^- Live` spelling cannot see the plant at all**, i.e. the defect is asserted rather than narrated. Then exit 1, `VIOLATION figure_undated live`, exactly one violation, `fig_undated 1`, a `DIAG` whose `text=` really carries the word `Live` (an indented line must be *named*, not merely counted), `fig_live` still 1 and `fig_stale` still 0.
- **`C35` (10 assertions)** — the same boundary seen from the other reader: an indented claim line gains a suite figure, so the registry now holds two live claims and the **singular** rule reddens. The plant reuses the figure the real claim already carries, so staleness and the undated rule cannot be what fires — `fig_undated 0`, `figure_stale 0`, and `violations 1`, isolating the scope of the count as the only thing that changed. `C35j` pins the helper and the checker to the same definition (`figure_lines` reads 2).
- **Four mutants, each killed by its own intended assertion**, run against a copy of the tree under `/tmp/opencode` with the working tree untouched: reverting the `fig_scope` selector to `^- Live` → **C34e–C34j red (313/7)**; reverting the `fig_live` selector → **C35d–C35g red (315/5)**; reverting only the `DIAG` extraction → **C34j alone red (318/2)**; reverting only `figure_lines` → **C35j alone red (318/2)**. Every run also reddens F8 with `got=na`, the `/tmp` copy having no git repository — the documented non-vacuity path, present with and without the mutant and attributed rather than counted as its kill.
- Suite **298 → 320 passed / 0 failed**; controls **C1…C35** contiguous (counted from the file); `- Live:` suite figure untouched (**83**); no tool source and no `app/src/php` file changed → **no reviewer gate, no promote**, prod untouched (**0.4.28**), `GLADEX_APP_VERSION` unchanged (this entry is appended at the bottom, so the changelog's *first* heading did not move).

### Notes

- **The class, stated once:** a rule whose scope lives in a comment is a rule with an unguarded edge, and each previous step widened the *checks* while leaving the *scope* spelled at every use site. (119) widened what is checked; this entry widens which lines can be checked, and does it by deleting the duplicated literals rather than by adding a fourth one.
- Two of the five indented lines carry no digit and are therefore out of the *numeric* rule by content — that is deliberate and declared (the rule checks dates on numeric claims), not an oversight; they are now in scope for the **count** rule, which is the reader that would otherwise have missed a second live claim.

### Queue
Authoritative next-candidate queue lives in `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, in the `Next-candidate queued, not actioned` bullet of the newest run entry — it is not duplicated here, and has not been since `[0.4.67]`. To read the live queue, open `PROGRESS.md`; to know whether that is still true, run `tools/queue-source-check`.

7017:## [0.4.176] - 2026-10-03 — queue item (119): the six undated `- Live:` bullets in `tools/REGISTRY.md` are dated — and three of the claims they carried were **wrong when re-measured** — while section **F**'s undated rule widened from `<N> suites` to **every numeric `- Live:` bullet**, guarded by new control **C33** (suite **280 → 298**)
7056:## [0.4.177] - 2026-10-03 — queue item (120): the boundary `[0.4.176]` widened was still written as **prose** — `^- Live` appeared three times as a literal and nowhere as a shared rule, so an indented `Live` claim line was invisible to every reader; `LIVE_RE` is now one definition four readers share, guarded by **C34** + **C35** (suite **298 → 320**)
