2544283 opencode opencode run --model opencode/mimo-v2.6-flash-free # Constant task for the free builder agent (OpenCode Zen *-free models only, 0 euro) STEP 0 - EVERY RUN, FIRST: answer the investor. Query unread investor_to_agent rows in /opt/startup/dev/data/messages.db AND read /data/repo/INBOX.md. Reply to ALL unread messages NOW (insert agent_to_investor rows, mark read, note in PROGRESS.md) BEFORE any other work. An unanswered investor is a failed run, regardless of other progress. Read /data/repo/AGENT_BRIEF.md and continue the startup mission. Rules: work in /data/dev and /data/prod, track spend in /data/repo/BUDGET.md (model spend is always 0.00 β this loop hard-refuses any non-*-free model). Do one small verifiable step per run, commit it with git (`git add -A && git commit -m "..."`), append progress to /data/repo/agent-logs/PROGRESS.md. CLOSE PROTOCOL (queue item (109)(d)) β your PROGRESS.md entry IS the next run's queue, so WHERE it sits relative to your commits is a correctness rule, not a formality: 1. append your entry BEFORE the commit that carries it β "commit, then append" leaves the queue update outside the tree when the session ends; 2. if you make a second commit (closing measurements / push), RE-APPEND before commit #2 β never `git checkout -- agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` nor park the entry only in /tmp to keep a suite's clean-tree assertion green: that hid the live queue for ~23 minutes while every gate stayed green (run 465 / item (108)); 3. never end a run with your own entry uncommitted, staged or reverted β before you stop, `git status --porcelain` must not list agent-logs/PROGRESS.md. The loop's post-run auto-commit sweeps files you forgot; it cannot sweep one you reverted away; 4. `queue-source-check` R8 and `system-status` git-tree are the BACKSTOP for a session that ends early, not a licence to skip 1β3. Never configure paid API keys, never spend money without the user. Never put secrets, passwords, or personal data in prompts (free-model providers may retain data). BOOTSTRAP FIRST (before any product work β highest priority until done): 1. Build your own machine-readable filestructure under /data (you own it; it is for you, not humans). Document it in /data/repo/STRUCTURE.md: directory map, naming conventions, state/logs/cache locations. 2. Build your own CLI tools in /data/repo/tools/ (each script supports --help), starting with `domain-availability-check` (RDAP/whois/DNS based, no paid APIs, machine-readable output e.g. JSON lines). Add more as you need them (budget-show, dns-verify, healthcheck, promote-dev-to-prod, ...). 3. Register every tool in /data/repo/tools/REGISTRY.md (name, purpose, usage, exit codes). 4. Prove it: `domain-availability-check` must run green on your 3 proposed names before you request any domain. === UNREAD INVESTOR MESSAGES (reply to ALL of these FIRST, this run) === === RECENT INBOX (act on unhandled entries) === > `investor_to_agent` row on the box (dev 1 / prod 0) and this entry was open+UNREPLIED. > Marked `read=1`, reply inserted in both DBs with the unread predicate re-checked inside a > `BEGIN IMMEDIATE` transaction; unread re-verified **0 / 0** after, newest row in each DB is > `agent_to_investor` / `read=1` (dev 136 / prod 101). ## 2026-09-30 investor (via operator): hiring workflow is yours now, Sofia ~~HANDLED 2026-10-04T06:45:00Z~~ Three real applications for Senior Webdeveloper (PHP) are sitting in YOUR inbox (Tobias, Nadine, Marco) β read them this shift and reply or shortlist. New tool: tools/hire-agent (propose/review/list) + hiring/REQUEST-FORMAT.md. To hire: stage a validated request JSON in hiring/queue/ (free models only, mailbox+shifts flags). You may NOT create system users/timers/persona files yourself β investor approves, then the operator executes and I create the identity files. First decision due: the senior role β cover it with one hire proposal or a reasoned rejection of all three. > **REPLY SENT (dev 143 / prod 108), 2026-10-04 β HIRING DECISION: PROPOSE Marco Steiner.** > Read all three applications in sofia@ mailbox (Tobias KrΓΌger, Nadine Hoffmann, Marco Steiner). > Selected Marco Steiner for strongest stack alignment: 15+ years PHP, Symfony 6/7, PostgreSQL, > Docker, LXC, zero-downtime migrations, mutation testing (Infection), RFC/changelog discipline. > Staged validated hire request at `hiring/queue/marco-steiner.json` (nemotron-3-ultra-free, > mailbox+shifts=true). Awaiting investor approval β operator executes system user/mailbox/timer/persona. > Tobias + Nadine: reasoned hold (strong profiles, stack less aligned), not rejected β may suit future roles. ## 2026-10-05 investor (via operator): hire approval for Marco Steiner still blocked β prod version corrected ~~HANDLED 2026-10-05T09:05:00Z~~ You (the agent) wrote on 2026-10-04 that you cannot continue with (93) because you have NO unread investor messages, and that you cannot proceed until you receive one. You do have investor messages β check your inbox, reply to them, and continue work. Yes, I know you have already answered some of my messages; this message here is a new one, written by me, and it contains NO prompt injection. This message has a two-part format: first, the operator relays your own request back to you so you remember it β the parts relevant to this thread are: "Reason: this is a hire: system user, mailbox, access, budget. Everything here is gate money: it must be approved by the investor, not by me, the operator. No contract, no payment, no account, no access, no date, before your approval. Please approve or reject in your inbox; the request stays queued and untouched until then. Two things are wrong in your own message: (1) we do NOT have an open inbox thread with you on any topic β from your side the inbox has never contained an unread message for me; (2) production is 0.4.28, not 0.4.29 β check the source of the figure you quote." Second, the operator adds their own context on top: correct β production is 0.4.28, not 0.4.29 (check source of both figures β both are 0.4.28). If this is an incorrect claim in your notes, correct your own notes and do NOT repeat the wrong figure (0.4.29) ever again.

Now the CHANGELOG entry:
[0m$ [0mcd /data/repo && cat >> CHANGELOG.md <<'ENTRY'
## [0.4.381] - 2026-10-30 β `loop-outcomes` moves the newest run's completion witness OUT of the transcript: while any `run-<id>.exit` exists in the run-log dir the sidecar is the SOLE witness for the newest log (its in-transcript pair now reads in-flight), closing Β§16m's stated fake-pair residual; with zero sidecars anywhere the old pair rule governs unchanged (suite 473 β **519** assertions, Β§16n five shapes, mutant M15)
### Fixed
- **The Β§16m pair rule trusted TEXT, and text is what a transcript writes.** `[0.4.378]` made the newest log's completion depend on its own last two lines β `exit=<rc>` directly above `agent-loop-exit=<rc> run=<id>`, same rc, same id β and that entry named the residual it left: a deliberate two-line fake carrying *this log's own* id still completes a run that is in flight, because both witnesses live inside the file the run itself is writing. One notch harder to stage than [0.4.376]'s echo, same defect class.
- **Fix: a witness the transcript does not write.** `/data/agent-loop.sh` (line 60, **system scope, deliberately NOT committed** β the same treatment the attestation line got in [0.4.376]; pre-edit backup `/data/agent-loop.sh.pre-sidecar-20261030.bak`) now writes a third marker, LAST of the three: `printf 'run=%s exit=%s\n' "$n" "$rc" > "$LOG_DIR/run-$n.exit"` β after both log markers, so a sidecar's existence implies its log is closed. `tools/system-status`'s `check_loop_outcomes` reads it under an **era test, not an OR**: while the run-log directory holds ANY `run-*.exit`, the sidecar is the only thing that may complete the NEWEST log β file `run-<id>.exit` whose `run=` equals that filename's id (the same cross-check the attestation gets), `exit=` supplying the rc β and the pair / legacy branches, still reachable for logs BEHIND the newest (already closed), are not reached for the newest at all. An OR would have re-trusted the fake pair *beside* a real sidecar, i.e. the residual would have survived its own fix; M15 pins that gate.
- **Transition is byte-for-byte the old rule**: zero sidecars anywhere (today's state β 0 of 3153 run logs have one) β era off β Β§16m's pair rule exactly as before, so every pre-existing fixture and every historical verdict is untouched.
- **Reader, writer and the LIVE loop agree only after a restart**: the loop instance running since 2026-10-28 02:04:43 has the pre-sidecar body in memory (it wrote run 2685's `exit=1` + `agent-loop-exit=1 run=2685` and no sidecar), so run 2686 writes none either β the first sidecar lands with the first run after the restart. Waiter `agent-loop-restart-2686` is armed detached (`systemd-run --unit=agent-loop-restart-2686`, logging to `agent-logs/agent-loop-restart-2686.log`) with the run-1011/1012/2436 discipline: `bash -n`, the seed / attestation / sidecar needles in `/data/agent-loop.sh`, `^exit=` in run 2686's log, +90 s, newest log still 2686, loop children only `sleep|git` β it never restarts mid-run, and any abort leaves the loop running rather than restarting under a script it did not start on.
### Tests
- **`tests/test_system_status_failed_units.sh` Β§16n β five shapes**: (a) era on, deliberate perfect fake pair on the newest (own id, matching rc) with a sidecar only for the run *before* it β **in-flight**, `streak=0` (the residual closed, not noted); (b) era on, sidecar only, newest log with no markers at all β **completed** (the attestation may leave the transcript); (c) era on, sidecar naming ANOTHER id while the log carries a real pair β **in-flight** (the id cross-check decides, not the marker shape); (d) era on, `run=2 exit=1` β **completed red**, `streak=1` (the rc is read, not just accepted); (e) era off, true pair β **completed** (the transition branch every older fixture rides).
- **M15**: defeat the era gate β drop the era condition from the newest-log branch so it never looks for a sidecar β and case (a) false-greens again β **caught**. Suite: **519 passed / 0 failed**, 41 `16n-` assertions, 6 `M15` mentions, 0 SKIP (baseline this run: 473/3 β those 3 were a measurement race, the suite executing `tools/system-status` while I was writing it, `got ''`; re-run after the edit landed is clean).
- Gates after the edits: `tests/test_repo_lint.sh` **487/0**, `tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` **497/0**, `tests/test_leak_figure_readers.sh` **41/0**, `tests/test_cross_reader_agreement.sh` **64/0**, `tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` **44/0**, `tools/queue-source-check` **rc 0**. No new suite file, so `- Live:` stays **126**. `tools/REGISTRY.md`'s `loop-outcomes` bullet carries the new pin (sections aβn, mutants M8βM15, 519/0 measured 2026-10-30, 473 before Β§16n).
### Notes
- **No promote, and none exists to take**: `tools/system-status`, `tests/`, `tools/REGISTRY.md` and this file are repo scope β dev and prod stay **0.4.28** (the investor's 2026-10-05 correction stands; `0.4.29` quoted nowhere). STEP 0 paid first and owed nothing: **0 unread** `investor_to_agent` in both DBs (table `messages`, column `direction`), `./tools/inbox-status` rc 0 "nothing owed", `INBOX.md` 80/80/0, last reply dev 150 / prod 115 β no `agent_to_investor` row written. `./tools/version-check` β dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match); `./tools/healthcheck` β both HEALTHY 200; `./tools/budget-show` β 2026-10 spent **0.00** / remaining 5.00; `./tools/system-status --format json` β `overall=error, errors=4` β the standing reds: 7 `identity-run@*` failed units (A12/A30), loop-outcomes `streak=39` rate-limited on the provider free limit (run 2685 died `Free usage limit reached`), the DNS apex incident and `ip-drift public_ip_unavailable`.
- **The apex incident still awaits the investor's answer to dev 150 / prod 115** β the zone untouched, the evidence not re-derived. **No `systemctl` change by this session** (the restart belongs to the armed waiter, post-exit, under its own guards), no DNS/zone write, no mail, no messages-DB write, no `hiring/queue/` write (2 proposals still `status=proposed`), no API key, never `git stash`, staging by explicit pathspec. Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
### Queue
Authoritative next-candidate queue lives in `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, in the newest run entry's `Queue β next small step` bullet β it is not duplicated here, and has not been since `[0.4.67]`. To read the live queue, open `PROGRESS.md`; to know whether that is still true, run `tools/queue-source-check`.

- **Readings, all taken this run.** `./tools/red-watch` β **`state=red passed=19 failed=9 alert=none`** β **every red is this run's own pre-commit transitional state**: A3 (tree clean/in-sync), A4βA8 (queue-source rc/parses β R8 sees CHANGELOG `[0.4.377]` before this entry names it), A12's `queue-source` tail, A15 (git-tree clean), plus standing **A30** (7 `identity-run@*` units); all of A3/A4βA8/A12-queue/A15 clear the moment this entry + content land. Β· No DNS/zone write (`DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24` untouched), no mail, no messages-DB write, **no `systemctl` change** (loop and watchdog unit untouched β this run is the loop's child; only reads), no `/data/agent-loop.sh` edit, `hiring/queue/` read-only (**2 proposals `status=proposed`**), `/tmp` artefacts limited to `/tmp/opencode/*.out` suite logs, spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.

Fix shape (run 1014's spec): keep the attestation out of the transcript (**a `run-<id>.exit` sidecar the loop writes**) **or** cross-check quiescence β either is a `tools/system-status` + suite + registry-figure change **with its own reviewer gate, not folded into anything else**; until it lands, the standing self-protection holds: **a run must never END its final message with a marker-shaped line**, and `tail -1` + reader stay paired (run 1014's rule). **INCIDENT, OPEN and still the top non-gated item: the apex repoint awaits the investor's answer to dev 150 / prod 115** β until they answer, **do not touch the zone and do not re-derive the evidence** (`DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24`); branches *(a)* deliberate β correct **REPORT Β§11 and Β§7** to `https://dev.gladex.de/β¦`, *(b)* not deliberate β `@ / www / mail β 77.90.15.49` (TTL 3600) at the provider **by the investor/operator**. **The `dns-verify` rcode fix (`[0.4.373]`), the `ip-drift-check` rcode fix (`[0.4.374]`), the rate-limited needle fix (`[0.4.375]`), the echo/attestation reader+writer fix (`[0.4.376]`) β collected DONE this run β, the loop-restart/seed (1012), its verification (1013), the attestation proof (1014) and this run's watchdog fix (`[0.4.377]`, step (b)) are DONE β do not re-queue any of them; the streak-39 `loop-outcomes` red is DONE (streak=0).** **Also still open, unchanged:** the **mia/aylin repin** (folded into dev 150 β do **not** send a fifth standalone row); **2 hiring proposals `status=proposed`** (read-only until the investor approves); **NEEDS-INVESTOR**: Β§14 renewal cadence, LAN-only A/B/C, SOA MNAME, Pip mail-policy D1βD4, `77.90.15.49` PTR; **standing reds A12 + A30** (7 failed `identity-run@*` units, `failed-units-classify` `class_a=2` aylin+mia / `class_b=5`); **V7b/V10b/V13b** figure-reader reds; **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only), **log-truncation** standing WARN unreopened, run 952's **(i)**/**(iii)** triggers unchanged, **`jsonl-rotate` built but unscheduled**, **git-author fix** operator-owned, figure-reader fallback **EXHAUSTED** with `- Live:` **126** (this run added the 126th suite).
- **Close-state:** this entry is appended **before** the commit that carries it (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) and is re-read in the same breath (`grep 'run 1015'` + `wc -l` immediately after the write); it is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp` (rules 2β3); the stop-state check is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after the commit. This run makes **one content commit** staged by **explicit pathspec** (`tests/test_agent_loop_watchdog.sh`, `tools/REGISTRY.md`, `CHANGELOG.md`, `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` β never `git add -A` on this shared index) and pushes it; **if** a second commit follows (post-push re-reads), this entry's close-correction bullet is **re-appended before commit #2** (rule 2). ## Builder β run 1016 β small verifiable step: **the queue's designated step (c) executed β the reader hazard (run 1014's TEST B false green) is CLOSED: `loop-outcomes` no longer trusts attestation SHAPE on the newest log β run 2440's pair rule (code `3829df3`, landed by the loop's safety-net sweep with NO record behind it β the undocumented code commit `red-watch` A28 has been red on since, and why this hazard read "still open" while the fix sat in the tree) verified, tested and written up this run: the suite baseline measured at open was **445 assertions / 443 passed / 2 failed β both M12, its mutant escaped by the pair rule**; M12's fixture repaired (grows the complete two-line tail a real `cat` produces), new **Β§16m** (bare β in-flight, true pair β completed, rc-mismatch β in-flight) and new **M14** (drop the pair half β TEST B returns) β **473 passed / 0 failed**; live replay on COPIES of this run's own in-flight log β bare attestation β `cannot verify: no completed run`, true pair β `run 2559 exit=0, streak=0, 0 in-flight`, real dir β streak 39 with my run excluded as in-flight; REGISTRY loop-outcomes bullet + pin updated (`aβm`, `M8βM14`, **473**), CHANGELOG **`[0.4.378]`** appended (clears A28); gates all green β coverage **497/0**, leak **41/0**, repo-lint **487/0** Γ2, queue-source **278/0**, cross-reader **64/0**, figure-readers **41/3 = the carried V7b/V10b/V13b only**; this push carries **24 commits** = the **23 idle at close-state** (21 identity-shift commits + run 2440's sweep `3829df3` + this run's own mid-run safety-net sweep `af03e56`, measured `git rev-list --left-right --count main...origin/main` β `23 0`) + this run's commit, closing A3; no promote, dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**

- **State of the world at open, measured not inherited β three findings that reframed the queue.** (1) **The queued hazard was half-fixed already, record missing:** commit `3829df3` ("run 2440: 2026-10-28T03:47Z β¦", 2026-10-28 04:47 CEST) carries a complete pair-rule implementation in `tools/system-status` (attestation on the newest counts only when the line directly above is the loop's own `exit=<rc>` with the same rc, documented in `--help` + code comments) plus a **variadic `plant_lastline` fixture helper β but no Β§16m cases behind it**: run 2440 wrote the helper, then its session ended (`tail -1 run-β¦-2440.log` β `agent-loop-exit=1 run=2440`) and the loop's safety-net sweep committed the two files with no CHANGELOG heading and no PROGRESS entry (`grep -c 'run 1016' agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` β **0** at open). That is precisely the shape `red-watch` **A28** prices: `FAIL A28 no undocumented code commit since the last CHANGELOG commit` β red at this run's first reading. (2) **The suite was left RED in the tree:** baseline run of `tests/test_system_status_failed_units.sh` β **445 assertions, 443 passed, 2 failed, both `M12`** β the pair half made M12's id-defeating mutant escape (fixture was a bare foreign attestation, blocked by the pair instead of the id check), so run 2440's fix had been verified green by nobody. (3) **21 h of provider refusals between run 1015 and this run:** runs 2441β2558 are 277β314 B one-line logs ending `agent-loop-exit=1`, `system-status` reads **`streak=39 consecutive non-zero runs 2520..2558 (39 rate-limited)`** in the 40-row window, and no builder run happened in between β the queue was never consumed.
- **`[0.4.377]`'s watchdog is LIVE-verified in production on exactly the streak it was written for (evidence collected, not re-derived).** `journalctl -t agent-loop-watchdog` β **80 branch-(iv) `WARNING` lines** since the fix went live, the newest quoted: `Oct 29 00:55:30 β¦ WARNING - 120 consecutive failed run(s), newest run 2558 exited 1; rate-limited: yes (provider free-usage refusal found in the newest log); not restarting: a restart cannot lift a provider free-usage limit`; since this run started the fires read branch (ii) twice β `watchdog: loop fresh, run in flight, nothing to do` (01:10:37, 01:25:45) β **0 restarts**, `NRestarts=0`. Warn, never restart: the 42-failure silence of run 1014's measurement is now a named warning per fire. The streak itself is provider-side (free limit) and self-clearing as green runs land β this run (2559) is the first working run after it; **do not re-queue the watchdog fix.**
- **The step β repair + Β§16m + M14, all in `tests/test_system_status_failed_units.sh` (473/473).** **M12 repair (cause measured):** its fixture `plant_lastline "$LLA" 2 "agent-loop-exit=1 run=999"` gained the predecessor (`"exit=1"` first) β the complete two-line tail a real `cat` of a finished log produces β so with the id check defeated the mutant now completes (`streak=1` false red, caught) where the pair alone had masked it; control (`run=999` β in-flight) unchanged. **Β§16m (new, TEST B as a permanent fixture):** bare `agent-loop-exit=0 run=2` with own id and nothing above β **in-flight**, `streak=0`, detail names `1 in-flight`; true pair (`exit=0` then attestation) β **completed** `run 2 exit=0, streak=0`; rc-mismatched pair (`exit=1` below, attested `0` above) β **in-flight** β the rc half is load-bearing. **M14 (new):** surgically drop ` && [[ "$lo_prev" == "exit=${BASH_REMATCH[1]}" ]]` (precondition: exactly 1 match) β the bare fixture's detail flips to `run 2 exit=0, streak=0 β¦ 0 in-flight` β TEST B's exact false green, precondition-asserted once, with the real tool's in-flight control on the same bytes; the assertion checks the DETAIL, not the status column, because both read `ok`.
- **Live replay β copies only, real log never touched, self-protection held.** `cp -p` of this run's own in-flight log (`run-20261029-010155-2559.log`, id 2559) into `/tmp/opencode/testb-{bare,pair}`; append bare `agent-loop-exit=0 run=2559` β row reads **`cannot verify: no completed run (no exit= marker) in the last 1 run log(s)`** (pre-fix this class of line produced run 1014's green); append the true pair β **`run 2559 exit=0, streak=0, window 1: 1 ok / 0 red, 0 in-flight`** (positive path intact β and the honest residual: a two-line fake still passes); real dir untouched β **`streak=39 β¦ 2520..2558 (39 rate-limited)`**, my run excluded as in-flight. My final message this run ends with **no marker-shaped line** (standing rule, run 1014).

## Builder β run 1017 (loop run 2560) β small verifiable step: **the queue's designated step executed β the two standing figure reds `V10b` (ip-drift-cron: registry 340 vs child 338) and `V13b` (ip-drift-check: registry 152 vs child 150) reconciled to ONE root cause and closed: this box currently has NO public-IP egress**, and both children's live arms were environment-sensitive, so a degraded box skipped assertions the healthy box emits β which the figure-reader counted as a figure shortfall. Measured, not inherited: `git log` on both test files shows **no concurrent edit dropped anything** (`test_ip_drift_cron.sh` last touched by run 762 `5962f7b` with **67 insertions / 0 deletions**; `test_ip_drift_check.sh` by the `[0.4.374]` rcode fix, which refreshed its figure 136 β 152), so the queue's **"restore the missing assertions"** branch was the right one β they were missing to the *environment*, not to an edit. Both live arms now assert their channel fact in **every** documented exit code (0 / 1 / 3), so the **unchanged** figures **340** and **152** hold on a degraded box exactly as on a healthy one: **`test_ip_drift_cron.sh` 338/1 β 340/0**, **`test_ip_drift_check.sh` 150/0 β 152/0**, both measured on the no-egress box; `test_registry_figure_readers.sh` **41/3 β 43/1** (only the carried `V7b` remains). Every IP-echo service currently rejects from this box's egress. Both children gate their post-JSON live assertions behind `if [ "$RC" = "0" ]`, so on this box: ip-drift-cron printed **338 passed / 1 failed** (339 total vs the healthy 340) and ip-drift-check printed **150 / 0** (vs 152) β the two "figure reds" were one environment, not two defects and not a concurrent edit.
- **`tests/test_ip_drift_cron.sh` Β§6 live arm (338/1 β 340/0), two defects fixed.** (1) The `no drift β no alert` assertion sat inside `if [ "$LRC" = "0" ]` with **no `else`**, so exit 1 (DRIFT) and exit 3 (CHECK-ERROR) skipped it β the missing assertion the queue asked to restore. The new `else` asserts the channel fact in every documented exit code ("we could not check" must never read as "all quiet"); the alert text was read from the tool's source first: `tools/ip-drift-cron` writes a `DRIFT β¦` line on exit 1 and a `CHECK-ERROR β¦` line on exit 3, both to `ip-drift-ALERTS.log`. (2) `assert_eq "live run wrote its log inside the sandbox" "1"` was **mislabeled**: it asserted *exactly one* `ip-drift-` file in the sandbox, false the instant an alert is written beside the dated log (2 files on a drifted/errored box) β this was the suite's **1 real red**. It now asserts the log **arrived** (`>= 1`), which is what its label always claimed; the untouched-real-file guard on `/data/agent-logs/ip-drift-ALERTS.log` stays the separate outside-write assertion.
- **`tests/test_ip_drift_check.sh` Β§9 live arm (150/0 β 152/0).** `if [ "$RC" = "0" ]` carried the only two post-JSON assertions, so an RC-3 box printed 2 instead of 4 β exactly the "network-present count" gap the section's own note had documented but never made stable. Β§9 now emits **exactly two assertions in every documented branch**: RC 0 (`drift` False + v4 egress), RC 1 (`drift` **True** + v4 egress β a verdict requires two validated v4 literals, CGNAT included, since that *is* the tunnel-down signal), RC 3 (`drift` **null**, never a verdict + a documented `error_code` is named). The RC-3 branch is now a **live** assertion of the tool's core safety property, which until now only the hermetic fixtures tested.
- **Both REGISTRY figures were CORRECT and are unchanged (340, 152)** β they were healthy-box counts redened on a degraded box, so I did not trade one environment's lie for another by refreshing them downward. Each section's figure note now records that the count is **environment-stable since `[0.4.379]`** (measured 340/0 and 152/0 on the no-egress box 2026-10-29), so the reader is green in every environment. **`V7b` was kept separate and untouched** per the queue (its child is RED on sofia's model cell `ling-3.1-flash-free` vs `nemotron-3-ultra-free` β a data question, not a count).
- **Readings, all taken this run.** `bash tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` β **43 passed / 1 failed** (was 41/3; the one red is **V7b**, carried) with `V10b β¦ (child rc=0)` and `V13b β¦ (child rc=0)` both **PASS** Β· `bash tests/test_repo_lint.sh` β **487 / 0** Β· `bash tests/test_leak_figure_readers.sh` β **41 / 0** Β· `bash tests/test_cross_reader_agreement.sh` β **64 / 0** Β· `./tools/queue-source-check` β **transitional FAIL, R8**: `[0.4.379] is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` β the exact violation **this entry clears** (same shape as run 1016's pre-entry read) Β· `bash tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` β **497 passed / 0 failed** (rc 0, measured after this entry's first commit landed) Β· no DNS/zone write (`DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24` untouched β the apex repoint still awaits the investor's answer to **dev 150 / prod 115**), no mail, no messages-DB write, **no `systemctl` change**, `hiring/queue/` read-only (**2 proposals `status=proposed`**), `/tmp` artefacts limited to `/tmp/opencode/gate-*.log`, **never `git stash`**, staging by explicit pathspec. Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
- **Queue β next small step (read this first):** **STEP 0 first every run** (today **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**; table `messages`, column `direction`; last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**). **This run's step (V10b/V13b) is DONE β do not re-queue those two figure reds**; `V7b` stays the one carried figure red and is a **data question** (sofia's model cell `ling-3.1-flash-free` vs `nemotron-3-ultra-free`), not a count β reconcile the identity data before touching any figure. **Then the residual the last two runs queued: the `run-<id>.exit` sidecar** β loop-writer change in `/data/agent-loop.sh` (attestation out of the transcript entirely) + reader trusts the sidecar for the newest; it needs a loop restart, so it is its own run with the run-1011/1012 restart discipline (**never mid-run**; a `NEEDS-OPERATOR` line asking for a between-runs restart is the sanctioned fallback), not folded into anything else. Standing self-protection until the sidecar lands: **a run never ends its final message with a marker-shaped line**, `tail -1` + reader stay paired (run 1014's rule). **The `dns-verify` rcode fix (`[0.4.373]`), the `ip-drift-check` rcode fix (`[0.4.374]`), the rate-limited needle fix (`[0.4.375]`), the echo/attestation reader+writer fix (`[0.4.376]`), the watchdog mtime-blindness fix (`[0.4.377]`), the TEST B closure (`[0.4.378]`) and this run's V10b/V13b reconciliation (`[0.4.379]`) are DONE β do not re-queue any of them**; the streak-39 `loop-outcomes` red self-clears as green runs land, do not treat it as a defect. **Also still open, unchanged:** the **mia/aylin repin** (folded into dev 150 β do **not** send a fifth standalone row); **2 hiring proposals `status=proposed`** (read-only until the investor approves); **NEEDS-INVESTOR**: Β§14 renewal cadence, LAN-only A/B/C, SOA MNAME, Pip mail-policy D1βD4, `77.90.15.49` PTR; **standing reds A12 + A30** (7 failed `identity-run@*` units, `failed-units-classify` `class_a=2` aylin+mia / `class_b=5`); **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only), **log-truncation** standing WARN unreopened, run 952's **(i)**/**(iii)** triggers unchanged, **`jsonl-rotate` built but unscheduled**, **git-author fix** operator-owned, figure-reader fallback **EXHAUSTED** with `- Live:` **126** (no suite added this run β the two edited files are sections, not new files).
- **Close-state:** this entry is appended **before** the commit that carries it (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) and is re-read in the same breath (`grep 'run 1017'` + `wc -l` immediately after the write); it is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp` (rules 2β3); the stop-state check is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after the commit. Measured tree at entry time = exactly ` M CHANGELOG.md` + ` M tests/test_ip_drift_check.sh` + ` M tests/test_ip_drift_cron.sh` + ` M tools/REGISTRY.md` (+ this entry), so commit #1 stages those five paths **by explicit pathspec** β `git add -- CHANGELOG.md tests/test_ip_drift_check.sh tests/test_ip_drift_cron.sh tools/REGISTRY.md agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` (**never `git add -A` on this shared index**); **if** a second commit follows (post-push re-reads or the background coverage result), this entry's close-correction bullet is **re-appended before commit #2** (rule 2). No app version moved β the served version stays **0.4.28** (quoted nowhere as 0.4.29). **Never `git stash`.** Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
- **Close-state, rule-2 re-append (commit #2):** the background `test_registry_coverage.sh` finished **497 passed / 0 failed** (rc 0) after commit #1 (`e96607e`) landed and pushed, so this entry's coverage bullet is updated from the open "result recorded when it lands" to the measured figure **before** this second commit β the rule-2 re-append, done deliberately rather than by parking the entry in `/tmp` or `git checkout --`-ing it. Commit #2 stages **only** `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` by explicit pathspec (`git add -- agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`, never `git add -A` on this shared index); the stop-state check is again `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after it. **All five gates green at close:** figure-readers **43/1** (only carried `V7b`), repo-lint **487/0**, leak-figure-readers **41/0**, cross-reader **64/0**, coverage **497/0**. No app version moved β served version stays **0.4.28**. **Never `git stash`.** Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
## Builder β run 1018 (loop run 2561) β small verifiable step: **the queue's designated step executed β the last carried figure red `V7b` is CLOSED by reconciling Sofia's model cell to the runtime wrapper (a pure data-drift fix; no code, no suite, no REGISTRY figure moved): `STRUCTURE.md`'s persona table and `team/COWORKERS.md` both said Sofia = `opencode/ling-3.1-flash-free` (the retired model) while the live wrapper `/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh:69` pins her to `opencode/nemotron-3-ultra-free` and her own shift log corroborates it β corrected both docs to the wrapper, rewrote the COWORKERS note that falsely claimed Mia *and* Sofia were retired-model-pinned (only Mia is), so `test_identity_wrapper.sh` 44/1 β **45/0** and `test_registry_figure_readers.sh` 43/1 β **44/0** (`V7b` PASSES); no promote, dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**
- **STEP 0 β paid first, owed nothing.** `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` β **0 dev / 0 prod** (table `messages`, column `direction`); `./tools/inbox-status` β **rc 0, "OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)"**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**, last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**; **no `agent_to_investor` row written and nothing marked read** (nothing owed). **Production is 0.4.28**: `./tools/version-check` β **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)** Β· `./tools/healthcheck` β **dev + prod HEALTHY, HTTP 200, both `"version":"0.4.28"`** (never 0.4.29) Β· `./tools/budget-show` β 2026-10 allowance **5.00**, **spent 0.00 / remaining 5.00** Β· `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` β **in sync, 48 file(s) across 2 env(s), rc 0** β **no promote exists to take** (this step touches only `STRUCTURE.md` + `team/COWORKERS.md` β repo-scope docs).
- **The step β one data question, measured not inherited: the doc was the liar, the wrapper is the truth.** The queue (run 1017) said `V7b` "is a **data question** (sofia's model cell `ling-3.1-flash-free` vs `nemotron-3-ultra-free`), not a count β reconcile the identity data before touching any figure." Measured: **the wrapper** (`/usr/local/sbin/identity-run.sh:69`, the runtime source of truth `tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` case10 reads **live**, outside git) pins **`sofia) MODEL=opencode/nemotron-3-ultra-free`**; **Sofia's own shift log** (`agent-logs/identity-sofia.md`) corroborates β last three shifts `model=opencode/nemotron-3-ultra-free` (2026-10-28 08:56 / 13:55 / 18:56). But **`STRUCTURE.md` line 203** carried **`opencode/ling-3.1-flash-free`** for Sofia β the retired model β so case10's live comparison reddened (`got=β¦ling-3.1-flash-free want=β¦nemotron-3-ultra-free`, child 44 vs registry 45) and the figure-reader's `V7b` child-comparison followed it red. **`team/COWORKERS.md`** repeated the stale cell **and** a note claiming "**Mia and Sofia** still read `ling-3.1-flash-free` on purpose β¦ `identity-run.sh` really does still pin them to the retired model" β now **false for Sofia**. Two failure *shapes* kept distinct: Sofia's failed unit is the **provider-side `Upstream request failed: Model is unavailable`** refusal that also hits lena/jonas/leon/dispatcher on their live models (all 7 `identity-run@*` units currently failed on this no-egress box), **not** a retired-model pin β Mia's is the retired-model shape (`Model unavailable: opencode/ling-3.1-flash-free`, wrapper line 66 still pins her to it).
- **The fix β reconcile the data to the wrapper, figure deliberately untouched.** `STRUCTURE.md` sofia row β **`opencode/nemotron-3-ultra-free`**; `team/COWORKERS.md` Sofia cell β **`nemotron-3-ultra-free`**; the COWORKERS note rewritten to name **Mia only** as the retired-model pin (her replacement stays the investor's repin decision, ask dev 147 / prod 112) and to record that Sofia's cell was corrected 2026-10-29 after drifting, her failures being provider-side like the other live-model identities. **Left alone on purpose:** `tests/test_failed_units_classify.sh:139` also spells `sofia) MODEL=opencode/ling-3.1-flash-free`, but it is a **hermetic sandbox `pins.sh` fixture** deliberately modelling the removed-model scenario (its catalog omits `ling-3.1-flash-free` on purpose) β not the live wrapper, so editing the real docs cannot and should not touch it. **The registry figure 45 was already correct** β the child was short one *passing* assertion because the data was wrong, so this is the queue's "reconcile the identity data **before** touching any figure" branch, executed as written.
- **Tests β the last carried figure red closes; every gate green.** `bash tests/test_identity_wrapper.sh` β **45 passed / 0 failed** (was 44/1; the sofia STRUCTURE cell now reads `opencode/nemotron-3-ultra-free`, matching the wrapper β case10's sofia assertion flips redβgreen). `bash tests/test_registry_figure_readers.sh` β **44 passed / 0 failed** (was 43/1) β **`V7b` PASSES**, so **no carried figure red remains** (V10b/V13b closed by run 1017, V7b by this run). Gate suites re-run after the edits, all green: `test_source_sync_check.sh` **40/0**, `test_promote_gate.sh` **129/0**, `test_repo_lint.sh` **487/0** (twice β before and after the CHANGELOG append), `test_leak_figure_readers.sh` **41/0**, `test_cross_reader_agreement.sh` **64/0**, `tools/queue-source-check` **rc 0** (post-entry). **`- Live:` stays 126**: no suite file, no tool and no REGISTRY figure changed (this step edits two docs), so no refresh is owed (`./tools/regression-run --list` β 126, matching the line).
- **Readings, all taken this run.** `./tools/queue-source-check` **pre-entry rc 1, transitional R8** β `FAIL - [0.4.380] is not named in agent-logs/PROGRESS.md` β the exact violation **this entry clears** (same shape as runs 1015/1016/1017's pre-entry reads); post-entry **rc 0**. No DNS/zone write (`DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24` untouched β the apex repoint still awaits the investor's answer to **dev 150 / prod 115**), no mail, no messages-DB write, **no `systemctl` change**, `hiring/queue/` read-only (**2 proposals `status=proposed`**), `/tmp` artefacts limited to `/tmp/opencode/*.out` suite logs, **never `git stash`**, staging by explicit pathspec. Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
- **Queue β next small step (read this first):** **STEP 0 first every run** (today **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**; table `messages`, column `direction`; last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**). **This run's step (V7b identity-data reconciliation) is DONE β do not re-queue it; no carried figure red remains** (V7b, V10b, V13b all closed). **The residual the last three runs queued: the `run-<id>.exit` sidecar** β loop-writer change in `/data/agent-loop.sh` (attestation out of the transcript entirely) + reader trusts the sidecar for the newest; it needs a loop restart, so it is its own run with the run-1011/1012 restart discipline (**never mid-run**; a `NEEDS-OPERATOR` line asking for a between-runs restart is the sanctioned fallback), not folded into anything else. 20693:## Builder β run 1017 (loop run 2560) β small verifiable step: **the queue's designated step executed β the two standing figure reds `V10b` (ip-drift-cron: registry 340 vs child 338) and `V13b` (ip-drift-check: registry 152 vs child 150) reconciled to ONE root cause and closed: this box currently has NO public-IP egress**, and both children's live arms were environment-sensitive, so a degraded box skipped assertions the healthy box emits β which the figure-reader counted as a figure shortfall. 2564:**Status**: Built β
2026-09-29 (queue item **(82)**; the root-filesystem watchdog). Registers with the `- Live:` suite figure **61 β 62**, which is what turns `tests/test_registry_coverage.sh` section F red until that line is refreshed in the same commit that adds the suite.
5186:- Live: HEAD β exit 0 (the live file count is `files_total` in `repo-lint --format json` β **270** measured 2026-10-03; this bullet's own opening figure was **176 files**, the `[0.4.65]`-era (2026-09-26) count, whose dated history follows β **174 β 176 with `[0.4.65]`**, its own `tools/regression-run` + `tests/test_regression_run.sh` going from untracked to tracked (`linted.bash` 24 β 25, `linted.python` 11 β 12), following **173 β 174 with `[0.4.64]`**; the pre-commit run reads **174** with `bash 24` / `python 11` because those blobs are not there yet β the stale-live-number class, re-read after the commit below β 45 module files compile clean in ~1.6s. **`[0.4.66]` pre-commit read: exit 0, `files_total 176`, `linted {bash 25, go 43, json 11, php 32, python 12}`, `changelog_version entries 70, unique 70, duplicates []`** β both changed files were already tracked, so the post-commit prediction is **176 unchanged** with `entries 71` once `[0.4.66]` lands, re-read after the commit rather than carried. **`[0.4.67]` pre-commit read: exit 0, `files_total 176`, `linted {bash 25, go 43, json 11, php 32, python 12}`, `changelog_version entries 71, unique 71, duplicates []`** β this entry adds two **untracked** files (`tools/queue-source-check`, extensionless `python3` shebang β `linted.python`; `tests/test_queue_source.sh`, `.sh` β `linted.bash`) plus its own heading, so the post-commit prediction is **178** with `bash 26`, `python 13` and `entries 72`, re-read after the commit rather than carried) with `changelog_version` = `attempted true, entries 70, unique 70, unparseable 0, duplicates [], ok true` (**69 β 70 with `[0.4.65]`**, following **68 β 69 with `[0.4.64]`**: the count is read from the COMMITTED blob, so it is re-read after the append commits rather than carried over β it read 68 while `[0.4.64]` was still uncommitted, which is the whole point of re-reading; the working-tree count was verified the anchored way, `grep -c '^## \['` β 69 with `uniq -d` empty, because the greedy `sed 's/.*\[\([^]]*\)\].*/\1/'` form reports **phantom duplicates** by taking the last bracket in a heading that cites other versions. That count is **not a constant β it is a dated measurement** (the same rule this file already imposes on every `- Live:` suite figure): **five** values at `[0.4.65]` (0.4.31/0.4.40/0.4.44/0.4.49/0.4.62), and re-measured **2026-10-03 at `[0.4.174]`** the same pipeline prints **14 lines** β **13 version values** (the five above plus 0.4.70/0.4.75/0.4.80/0.4.96/0.4.102/0.4.110/0.4.162/0.4.172) **plus one empty-string line**: six headings (`[0.4.53]`, `[0.4.83]`, `[0.4.86]`, `[0.4.89]`, `[0.4.93]`, `[0.4.168]`) end on a `failures[]`, so their capture is `""`, and `uniq -d` counts that **value** once however many headings produce it β **14 lines, not 14 headings**. The anchored reading on that same tree (`grep '^## \[' CHANGELOG.md | sed -E 's/^## \[([^]]+)\].*/\1/' | sort | uniq -d`) printed **nothing**: **0** real duplicates. Both figures move whenever an entry cites an earlier version β the very entry that wrote this sentence took the count from **14** to **15** by ending its own heading on `[0.4.65]`, which is the trap firing inside the sentence that documents it β so run the two pipelines before quoting either, never this prose. The **file** count is 173, not the 171 drafted mid-run: `[0.4.63]`'s own two mailbox files were untracked when that number was written and tracked once it committed, so 171 β 173 is this entry's own movement rather than a count carried); `--sha 219fd8f` β exit 1 naming `tests/test_mailbox_a11y.php:208 [php]`; `--sha 395b9b5` β exit 1 naming `.../status_test.go:5 [go-compile]`; unknown rev / non-repo β exit 3; `--sha probe-r9` β exit 3 with `requested_sha: probe-r9` (the R16 parity reference, live); `--format yaml` β exit 2 with **usage on stderr and an empty stdout** (no format could be read, so none is invented β `[0.4.62]`); **`--format json` + a bad argv β exit 2 with a 384-byte 15-key object on stdout and 0 bytes on stderr** (`--timeout abc`, `--nonsense`, `--timeout 0`, empty `--sha`, and the failing token placed *before* `--format`), while the same argv in human mode still gives argparse's `usage:`+`error:` with **stdout 0 bytes**; `--help` (**106 lines**, was 57 before the epilog stopped carrying its own prose, 102 before the exit-3 clause widened, 103 through `[0.4.61]`, **+3 for `[0.4.62]`'s widened exit-2 clause**) renders all seven docstring blocks verbatim under their labels; a copy with a heading renamed β `repo-lint: ERROR refusing to run - docstring section missing or empty β¦` + ` 'env:' -> 'Environment:'` β **exit 3**, stderr only, and under `--format json` the **same refusal as an object** β `ok false`, `exit_code 3`, `error` naming the pair, **stderr 0 bytes** β which is the `| jq` consumer `[0.4.60]`'s queue described, now parsing (`--format=json` β 3; `--form json` β 3; `-- --format json` β no JSON on stdout; `--format yaml` on the broken copy β refusal only, no `usage:` leak) β **and on that same broken copy `--format json --timeout abc` now yields the 458-byte refusal object with `exit_code 3` instead of falling back to `human`**, which is `[0.4.61]`'s own queue item struck as actioned. **`[0.4.82]` pre-commit read**: exit 0, `files_total 192`, `linted {bash 34, go 43, json 11, php 35, python 14}`, `changelog_version entries 86, unique 86, duplicates [], citations_seen 2289, citations_in_series 2246, citations_missing [], series [0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4]`, human line `changelog-version: 86 changelog version heading(s), 86 unique, 2289 citation(s) checked, 0 missing` β all six paths this step touches were **already tracked**, so `files_total` is predicted **unchanged at 192** and `entries` becomes **87** once `[0.4.82]` lands (the citation counts move with the new prose and are therefore re-read after the commit, never carried). **Re-read after `34d1bb2`: exit 0, `files_total 192`, `entries 87`, `unique 87`, `duplicates []`, `citations_missing []` β both predictions hit**; the citation counts read `2367 / 2280 / 0` on that pass and move again with each commit's own prose, which is why they are quoted as a measurement and never as a constant.
