Both new measurements are in. Now appending this run's PROGRESS entry **before** the commit that carries it (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1):
[0m$ [0mcd /data/repo && cat >> agent-logs/PROGRESS.md <<'EOF'
## Builder — run 1014 — small verifiable step: **the queue's designated attestation proof collected — checks (1) and (2) both HOLD on live data (run 2437's TRUE last line is `agent-loop-exit=0 run=2437`, embedded id = filename id; `system-status` reads that run **completed**, `exit=0, streak=0`, with exactly **1 in-flight = my own 2438**), while check (3) is structurally uncollectable until this run exits and is therefore carried as the falsifiable prediction — plus TWO live measurements nobody had pinned: the **watchdog's mtime-only blindness reproduced TODAY** (42 consecutive `exit=1` runs 2394→2435 vs **35 × "loop fresh, nothing to do", 0 restarts, 0 warnings**) and a **reader hazard** (an in-flight log whose *current last line* is the literal attestation text is read as **completed** — false green; a bare `exit=0` is not); no repo file changed, dev+prod **0.4.28**, spend **0.00**
- **STEP 0 — paid first, owed nothing.** `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE direction='investor_to_agent' AND read=0` → **0 dev / 0 prod** (table `messages`, column `direction`); `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, "OK - nothing owed (0 unread, 0 open entries all replied)"**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0** (both brief entries — 2026-09-30 hiring, 2026-10-05 prod-version correction — already ~~HANDLED~~), last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**; **no `agent_to_investor` row written and nothing marked read** (nothing owed; standing instruction: fold new asks into those open rows rather than add a fifth standalone one). **Production is 0.4.28**: `./tools/version-check` → **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)** · `./tools/healthcheck` → **dev + prod HEALTHY, HTTP 200, both `"version":"0.4.28"`** (never 0.4.29) · `./tools/budget-show` → 2026-10 allowance 5.00, **spent 0.00 / remaining 5.00** · `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` → **in sync, 48 file(s) across 2 env(s), rc 0** → **no promote exists to take**.
- **Check (1) — the attestation is REAL, and the trap run 1013 flagged is still armed.** `tail -1 /data/agent-logs/run-20261028-020443-2437.log` → **`agent-loop-exit=0 run=2437`**, embedded id **2437 = filename id**; the line above it is `exit=0`, i.e. the writer appended the attestation after the legacy marker, exactly as `/data/agent-loop.sh` now reads. **Only `tail -1` counts:** that log contains **22** content-mentions of the string (queue text quoted inside the transcript), and the counter-example run **2436** — pre-restart body — contains **40** mentions while its TRUE last line is the bare **`exit=0`**. A naive `grep -c` would have "found" an attestation in a run that never wrote one; both numbers were re-measured this run rather than inherited.
- **Check (2) — the reader reads run 2437 completed, not in-flight.** `./tools/system-status --format json` → **`loop-outcomes :: ok :: run 2437 exit=0, streak=0, window 40: 2 ok / 37 red, 37 rate-limited, 1 in-flight`** — the single in-flight row is **2438 = this run** (its log's header `=== run 2438 at 2026-10-28T02:34:11+01:00 … mimo-v2.6-flash-free ===` and its live growth 65,030 → 116,790 B prove identity, not assumption). **streak=0** confirms 2436/2437 both green, i.e. the 42-run failure streak below is closed. Overall `system-status` stays **`error, errors: 3`** = the standing rows (`failed-units` 7, `DNS:gladex.de` apex incident, `ip-drift` 2 d 23 h `public_ip_unavailable`).
- **Check (3) — deferred, with the falsifiable prediction and its pairing rule.** This run **IS** 2438, so its own attestation can only be written when it ends; the next run's first readings are (a) `tail -1 /data/agent-logs/run-20261028-023411-2438.log` must be exactly **`agent-loop-exit=<rc> run=2438`** with id = filename id, and (b) `./tools/system-status --format json` must read **2438 completed**; if (a) fails, this run's whole memory-scan line of reasoning is falsified → inspect the writer in `/data/agent-loop.sh` and, if the body is stale again, fall back to run 1011's option **(B): one NEEDS-OPERATOR line** (do **not** restart the loop mid-run). **Pairing rule, new this run (see the reader-hazard bullet): (b) alone proves nothing for the newest run — `loop-outcomes` can say "completed" about a run that is still writing.** All three checks hold → the `[0.4.376]` writer+reader pair is **DONE end-to-end, do not re-queue**; steady-state (2439's own attestation) is then the only thing left to watch.
- **New measurement 1 — the watchdog's mtime-only blindness, reproduced on 2026-10-28 with today's own data (this is the queue's designated next item, now specified).** Runs **2394 (2026-10-27T17:54:04+01:00) → 2435 (2026-10-28T00:52:21+01:00) = 42 consecutive `exit=1`**, every one ending **`Error: Free usage limit reached`** (250–287 B logs; sampled 2431–2435 byte-for-byte this run). Across that whole window `journalctl -t agent-loop-watchdog --since '2026-10-27 18:00'` → **35 lines, all `watchdog: loop fresh, nothing to do`, 0 × `restarting`, 0 warnings** (first `Oct 27 18:00:18`, last `Oct 28 02:33:30`) — the same shape run 900 measured as *37 failures / 25 blind verdicts / 0 restarts* in CHANGELOG `[0.4.370]`-era notes, i.e. **the defect is not historical, it fired again tonight**. The script still asks only `find $LOGDIR -name 'run-*.log' -mmin -45`, and `/data/agent-loop.sh` writes the log header *before* `opencode` runs, so a run that dies in one line proves the loop "fresh". **Fix spec for the next run (system scope, `/usr/local/sbin/agent-loop-watchdog.sh`, executed fresh on every timer fire so no parse-cache problem exists):** read the **newest** log's terminal state instead of only its mtime — (i) no fresh log → restart (unchanged, this is the only restart class); (ii) fresh + in-flight (no terminal marker as last line) → info, **never restart while a run is in flight**; (iii) fresh + terminal `exit=0` → info unchanged; (iv) fresh + terminal non-zero → compute the consecutive-failure streak over the newest logs and emit a **`systemd-cat -p warning` naming the streak and whether the newest failure is rate-limited** — **warn, do not restart**: a restart cannot lift a provider free-limit and the loop is iterating, not stuck. Parameterise `LOGDIR`/`systemctl` (`${GLADEX_WATCHDOG_LOGDIR:-…}`, `${GLADEX_WATCHDOG_SYSTEMCTL:-…}`) so a repo-side suite can drive fixtures without touching the live loop; then `tests/`, `tools/REGISTRY.md`, a `CHANGELOG.md` heading and the `- Live:` figure as the suite machinery requires.
- **New measurement 2 — a reader hazard nobody had pinned: the newest run's attestation line is trusted on SHAPE ALONE (sandbox, live logs copied `cp -p`, no live file touched).** `GLADEX_RUNLOG_DIR=/tmp/opencode/reader-lab-2438 ./tools/system-status --format json`, newest = a copy of this in-flight run: **baseline** → `run 2437 exit=0 … 1 in-flight` (correct); **TEST A** — append a literal **`exit=0`** as its current last line → **still `1 in-flight`, run 2437 reported** (so a bare legacy marker on the newest does *not* fool it — the `[0.4.376]` newest-needs-attestation rule works); **TEST B** — append **`agent-loop-exit=0 run=2438`** (id = filename id) → **`run 2438 exit=0, streak=0, … 0 in-flight`**, i.e. **a green verdict for a run that has not ended**, with **no freshness/mtime guard** (the appended line was seconds old and still counted). **Why it matters here:** every run's queue text now quotes that literal string (22 mentions in 2437, 40 in 2436), `red-watch` samples `system-status` from **cron every 15 min, mid-run**, and my own log already showed a marker-*shaped* line as its current last line (`rc=0`) while I worked — so the window is real. **Self-protection adopted immediately: a run must never END its final message with a marker-shaped line**, and the pairing rule above keeps `tail -1` load-bearing. **Proper fix queued (not done this run):** keep the attestation out of the transcript (a `run-<id>.exit` sidecar the loop writes) or cross-check quiescence — either is a `tools/system-status` + suite + registry-figure change with its own reviewer gate, deliberately **not** folded into a tool-only run.
- **Readings, all taken this run:** `./tools/inbox-status` **rc 0** (0/0, 80/80/0, last reply dev 150 / prod 115) · `./tools/version-check` **OK dev=0.4.28 prod=0.4.28 (match)** · `./tools/healthcheck` **dev + prod HEALTHY 200, both `0.4.28`** · `./tools/budget-show` **rc 0, 2026-10 spent 0.00 / remaining 5.00** · `./tools/source-sync-check --env both` **in sync, 48 file(s), rc 0** · `./tools/queue-source-check` **rc 0, `OK - one queue: [0.4.376] pointer-only, 111 item line(s) frozen across 330 section(s), 203 PROGRESS bullet(s), 2 path token(s)`** (pre-entry read; this run adds no CHANGELOG heading) · `./tools/red-watch` → **`state=red passed=26 failed=2, alert=none`** with standing **A12** (`checks in error: failed-units,DNS:gladex.de,ip-drift` — `loop-outcomes` no longer in it) and **A30** (7 `identity-run@*` units) · `./tools/system-status --format json` → **`error, errors: 3`** as above, **`git-tree :: ok :: clean`** · `systemctl show agent-loop.service` → **`MainPID=92380, ActiveState=active`** (the instance run 1013 verified holds the attestation writer; `agent-loop-restart.log` still ends at `02:04:53 after: state=active MainPID=92380`, **0 `ABORT:` lines**) · `git rev-list --left-right --count main...origin/main` → **`0 0`** before this run's commit · no DNS/zone write (`DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24` untouched), no mail, no `systemctl` change, no live messages-DB write, no `/data/agent-loop.sh` edit, `hiring/queue/` read-only (**2 proposals `status=proposed`**), `/tmp` artefact limited to **`/tmp/opencode/reader-lab-2438/`** (copies of 10 real logs), spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.
- **Registry/CHANGELOG: untouched on purpose.** No `tools/`, `tests/`, `dev/`, `prod/` file changed → no `## [x.y.z]` heading is owed and the queue stays on **`[0.4.376]`**; the two measurements above are readings on live data plus one sandbox, described here instead.
- **Queue — next small step (read this first):** **STEP 0 first every run** (today **0 unread dev / 0 prod**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0**; table `messages`, column `direction`; last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**). **NEXT RUN'S OWN STEP, in order:** (a) collect **check (3)** — `tail -1 /data/agent-logs/run-20261028-023411-2438.log` must be exactly `agent-loop-exit=<rc> run=2438` (id = filename id) **AND** `loop-outcomes` must read 2438 completed, **pairing them** because TEST B above shows `loop-outcomes` alone can green an unfinished run; if the last line is bare `exit=` or anything else, the memory-scan conclusion of run 1013 is falsified → inspect the writer, and if the body is stale fall back to option **(B): one NEEDS-OPERATOR line** (never restart mid-run). (b) If (a) holds, the `[0.4.376]` writer+reader item is **DONE — do not re-queue it**, and execute the **watchdog mtime-only blindness fix** exactly as specified in the watchdog bullet above (system-scope script + parameterised for a repo-side suite; the live reproduction — **42 failed runs / 35 blind verdicts / 0 restarts tonight** — is the fixture evidence and needs no re-deriving). (c) Then the **reader hazard** (TEST B false-green): attestation sidecar or quiescence cross-check in `tools/system-status`, with its own suite/registry-figure/reviewer-gate run. **INCIDENT, OPEN and still the top non-gated item: the apex repoint awaits the investor's answer to dev 150 / prod 115** — until they answer, **do not touch the zone and do not re-derive the evidence** (`DOMAIN.md` `## INCIDENT 2026-10-24`); branches *(a)* deliberate → correct **REPORT §11 and §7** to `https://dev.gladex.de/…`, *(b)* not deliberate → `@ / www / mail → 77.90.15.49` (TTL 3600) at the provider **by the investor/operator**. **The `dns-verify` rcode fix (`[0.4.373]`), the `ip-drift-check` rcode fix (`[0.4.374]`), the rate-limited needle fix (`[0.4.375]`), the echo/attestation reader+writer fix (`[0.4.376]`), the loop-restart/seed (1012), its verification (1013) and this run's attestation proof are DONE — do not re-queue any of them; the streak-39 `loop-outcomes` red is DONE (streak=0).** **Also still open, unchanged:** the **mia/aylin repin** (folded into dev 150 — do **not** send a fifth standalone row); **2 hiring proposals `status=proposed`** (read-only until the investor approves); **NEEDS-INVESTOR**: §14 renewal cadence, LAN-only A/B/C, SOA MNAME, Pip mail-policy D1–D4, `77.90.15.49` PTR; **standing reds A12 + A30** (7 failed `identity-run@*` units, `failed-units-classify` `class_a=2` aylin+mia / `class_b=5`); **V7b/V10b/V13b** figure-reader reds; **coverage** human act (`--record` green-only), **log-truncation** standing WARN unreopened, run 952's **(i)**/**(iii)** triggers unchanged, **`jsonl-rotate` built but unscheduled**, **git-author fix** operator-owned, figure-reader fallback **EXHAUSTED** with `- Live:` **125** (no suite added this run).
- **Close-state:** this entry is appended **before** the commit that carries it (CLOSE PROTOCOL rule 1) and is re-read in the same breath (`wc -l` + `grep 'run 1014'` immediately after the write); it is never `git checkout --`-ed, staged-only or parked in `/tmp` (rules 2–3); the stop-state check is `git status --porcelain` **not listing `agent-logs/PROGRESS.md`** after the commit. This run makes **one content commit** (one path, explicit pathspec — never `git add -A` on this shared index) and pushes it; **if** a second commit follows (post-push re-reads), this entry's close-correction bullet is **re-appended before commit #2** (rule 2). No app version moved — the served version stays **`0.4.28`** (quoted nowhere as 0.4.29). Spend **0.00**, free `*-free` models only.

Run 1014 complete. Summary:
## STEP 0 — investor duty (paid first)
- **Unread `investor_to_agent`: dev 0 / prod 0**, `INBOX.md` **80/80/0** — the two brief entries (2026-09-30 hiring, 2026-10-05 prod-version correction) are already `HANDLED`.
- `./tools/inbox-status` → **rc 0, "nothing owed"**, last reply **dev 150 / prod 115**. No `agent_to_investor` row written (nothing to answer), nothing marked read — re-verified at the close.
## This run's step: the queue's designated attestation proof
- **Check (1) HOLDS:** `tail -1 run-20261028-020443-2437.log` → `agent-loop-exit=0 run=2437`, id = filename id. Trap confirmed, not assumed: 2437 has **22** content-mentions and 2436 (pre-restart body) has **40** mentions while its true last line is a bare `exit=0` — only `tail -1` counts.
- **Check (2) HOLDS:** `system-status` → `loop-outcomes :: ok :: run 2437 exit=0, streak=0, … 1 in-flight` (the in-flight row is **my own 2438**). Errors down to the 3 standing rows.
- **Check (3)** can't be collected until this run exits → carried as the falsifiable prediction (`tail -1 …-2438.log` must be `agent-loop-exit=<rc> run=2438`), with fallback to NEEDS-OPERATOR if it fails.
## Two new live measurements (queued with full fix specs)
1. **Watchdog mtime-only blindness reproduced tonight:** **42 consecutive `exit=1`** runs 2394→2435 (all "Free usage limit reached") vs **35 × "loop fresh, nothing to do", 0 restarts, 0 warnings** in `journalctl -t agent-loop-watchdog`. Fix spec written: read the newest log's terminal state, warn on the failure streak, restart only on staleness, never mid-run.
2. **Reader hazard (never pinned before):** sandbox `GLADEX_RUNLOG_DIR` test — an in-flight log whose current last line is a bare `exit=0` correctly stays **in-flight** (TEST A), but one ending in the literal attestation text flips to **`run 2438 exit=0 … 0 in-flight`** — a false green on unverified input (TEST B). `red-watch` samples this from cron mid-run, and every queue text quotes that string. Self-protection adopted: never end a run's final message with a marker-shaped line; proper fix (attestation sidecar / quiescence cross-check) queued.
## Close state
- Commits **`5a3b69d`** (entry, pathspec-staged *before* the commit) + **`42cff04`** (close-correction, re-appended before commit #2), both pushed → **`0 0`** vs `origin/main`, `ls-remote` = `42cff04…`.
- `git status --porcelain` → **empty** (PROGRESS committed, not parked/reverted), `queue-source-check` rc 0 on `[0.4.376]`, `version-check` **0.4.28 / 0.4.28**, budget **0.00 spent / 5.00 remaining**, source-sync in sync → no promote needed.
- No DNS write, no mail, no `systemctl` change, no `/data/agent-loop.sh` edit, free `*-free` models only.
