## This run's step: the queued `ip-drift-check` `+short` investigation, then the fix
**Investigation first** (the queue said *investigate before fixing*):
- The `ok` record came from a **different resolver path**: the `@8.8.8.8` fallback answers `status: NOERROR, ANSWER: 1` with the real `178.104.11.60`.
- The blindness was real but confined to the empty case: pre-fix `dig_query('gladex.de','A',None,10)` on the local stub resolver → **`([], True)`** (a SERVFAIL counted as *completed*), and the live tool then reported **`dns_status: "no_a_records"`** — "a query completed and the answer was empty" — for a query nobody answered.

**Fix (`tools/ip-drift-check`)**: dig asked **without `+short`**, header `status:` decides (`NOERROR|NXDOMAIN` = completed), values read only from `;; ANSWER SECTION:`, transport gate kept as the literal `if diagnostics:` (the transport suite's M4 pin) but filtered through `TRANSPORT_RE`.
